aye...a pellet rifle is an essential imo...I know when shtf I'm headed straight into deep woods, and any 1000 fps pellet rifle, or better yet, a 700-900 fps .22 pellet rifle, is excellent for hunting small to medium game without letting everyone in a 2 mile radius know you're out there...keep your pellet velocity sub-sonic and you are silent...I don't recommend that Gamo rifle though, as there are no open sights and a scope is easily damaged and not replacable in a bug out situation
Nobody realizes that all the sudden everybody starts to eat everything in the woods during a SHTF situation. That when the population of North America turns on nature and gobbles everything up there is nothing left and the animal population will be devastated. 270 million people in the united states, 10 percent of that shoots and eats only one deer, deer are now an extinct species. All this going to eat all the animals stuff is a little far fetched. Subsistence farming is what is needed.
@kuribo1 YES this is very true , ive thought about this too , its going to take a big effect on our eco system , each food chain link will swiftly start to evaporate , people aren't going to be finding squirrels and large enough rats and small game long after a collapse and screw large games that's already been out of the picture look at Africa , birds will start spreading disease a big ass domino affect WILL happen , farming rabbits , subsistence farming stuff like this is needed.
Any of that gear will land you in jail in New York. The cops have a fit when people are armed. You can carry and hunt if you have all the papers and only have it in designated areas like the mountains. Such a hassle. Even bear spray!!
Wristrockets are fake products at Walmart. You can't shoot anything with them. Schwynn makes a version that works for hunting, but a "wristrocket" brand slingshot is a pick pocketing scheme. Buy it, shoot your baby in the head with it and the baby will laugh if it even notices, because the rock will fall on your foot.
@1emanres I know this is old but keep thinking that dude. I have one of those from Wal Mart. I have 3/8 steel ball bearings and you can shatter cinder blocks with them.
And just a tip to everyone, don't buy the cheapest pellet gun you can find. Get one that will actually work well and won't break on you. It will mean a little more money, but you would regret wasting your money on the bottom of the line 40 dollar one.
I think you're right, a live trap is great if you're staying at home, or even if you have extra room in your vehicle. Kind of big if you're on foot or short on space.
A couple of months ago I caught a rabbit in my life trap, so I skinned it, and threw it in the stew pot. Hey, a free meal.
I have owned pellet guns and sling shots since I was a kid - I have never out grown them. I have a new pellet gun and another sling shot. They are fun, inexpensive to shoot, and can be used as survival tools of stealth. Good advice for preppers.
Trapping is a blast, plus with that type trap you can turn the skinny ones loose, lol. Euell Gibbons has some good books on what plants are edible too :)
Some great idea's for trapping and taking of small game.I think it's strange, some people will turn up there noses at the thought of eating rat.How quickly that attitude will change when they get hungry.Your next survival video may be how you survived breaking your wife's brush.Great video.Thanks.
@SHOOTERNW Awesome. I love hearing about rat extermination, especially with powerful air rifles! Keep up these great survival vids. These are quite educational for us all. In fact, I'm going to put your channel in my feature box. I think everyone should see some of these. Great work. Glad to find your channel.
@tristram599 Yes. No doubt that these .177 pellets will kill a human. Not going to blow a huge hole out of their body, but will definitely penetrate skull, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, etc.. I am sure that at some point the hp pellet rifles will be regulated alongside regular firearms.
This morning I did a 125 yard shot on a 2 inch target (duck head) and dropped it like a rock. Eating it for dinner tonight.
Great video! I have a raccoon sized live trap which I've used successfully several times. I've got a rat trap that I've added a small stake down cable to. Have not had much luck catching rats with that. I think my rats are too smart. Slingshot yes and I've changed out the bands to heavy duty bands. I've also assembled a version of Dave Canterbury's "Slingbow" and practiced some with that. I've also got a couple of traditional bows, one with a simple bowfishing rig. Good to have quiet options.
another great vid bro great system i'm going to hook up with you when SHTF you are ready for anything another great survival video!! your wife is going to Kick your Ass for breaking her broom lol lol keep the great vids coming
