  • They made the Bel-air out of paper?

  • I love how it looks that the malibu gets squashed but the Bel Air wraps around the malibu ^^

  • Chevrolet Bel Air without engine. It's stupid test.

  • @rzarii Can you prove there is no engine inside the Bel Air? Don't tell me to look at the vid again, I already have.

  • Whether or not that Bel Air had a motor makes no difference on how quickly that A-pillar snaps back. Thank an engineer that they "don't make them like they used to."

  • Bel Air had no motor.

  • fake because bel air daha sağlam amk ingilizcem bu kadar işte

  • they are both losers ... since they are driving Chevys !!!! XD

  • I rather get killed in the bel air than drive the malibu

  • @wehner93 Bad genes I'm guessing?

  • @wehner93 Even better, I'll just buy a secondhand Mercedes instead.

Inb4 1000 internet rednecks call me a Eurofag and threaten to run me over in their Chevy trucks.

  • Yo nigga, i think we ran over a mothaf'ckin bump or some sh*t like that..

Dawg this sh*t is fuc*ed up nigga..

  • why the hell do they fuck off such a beautiful old car !

  • Sind die dumm,They are silli guys, the beautiful bel air

  • Bel Air engineering idea looks like "to haul ass and nothing more" :D

  • @leoisforevercool hahahaha very funny im a huge gta vc fan too wven look at my youtube name.

P.S. does anyone notice the dirt/rust coming out of the bel air when the front fender splits? why is that?

  • bel air aint for speeding anyway it a chill out crusing car

  • @MiixBoii When it was new, the Bel Air was a very inexpensive family car.

  • @itsmegp46 Exactly... for cruising :)

  • Typical for an old car of that era. The only thing out of the 50's that's safe would be a mercedes.

  • NO! MY VOODOO! JUMP OUT TOMMY! JUMP AWTTTTTTTTT!!!111111

  • Why destroy a Bel Air when you know what was going to happen...

The Bel Air has ZERO protection its from fucking 1959 they didnt give a shit at the time

  • Look at all the fucking disintegrated rust flying off that Bel Air. The thing was a shit heap tarted up just for the part.

    Also, why no fucking engine?

  • @HFLanciaStratos Umm, it was not a shit heap, unless this was some plot against the bel aire. You seriously need to calm your tits down, it's just a video.

  • @iceagescrat1 It was rusted to fuck and had no engine, lol.

  • @HFLanciaStratos Can you prove it has no engine?

  • @HFLanciaStratos Who said there was no engine?

  • Couldn't they have chosen some 1980's crap? Result and message would have been pretty much the same.

  • the safer choice is obvious i choose the Bel Air.

  • ok this is dump theres nothing in this car no engine tranny rad drive shaft of diffrental this is so fucking stupied!!!

  • @in1fuckenworld You can't tell those parts were not in the car from the vid, thats for sure. Did you read that information somewhere else? Please, do tell.

  • I would like to know as well if the motor was removed or not from the BelAir. Yes that would make a difference in the results. If its missing, put one back in it whether it runs or nice and redo the test. If it is in the car, the results would be much worse. Believe it or not, the motor does help to brace the front. But none the less, any crash is bad. Theres nothing that they can put in the cars that will prevent deaths and injuries. Just helps reduce the chances is all.

  • @tripovermyego fatalities from auto collisions have been dropping for years due to better constructed cars, air bags, seat belts and other safety features.

  • A waste of a classic Bel-Air, perhaps, but I think this is a genuine video. It shows how far safety has come in half a century. The Malibu gives up a foot or two of length and probably 2000lbs of weight to the older car but the differences in structural integrity are amazing.

  • @RoadCone411 Actually, the Bel Air is longer and wider, but the two cars weigh about the same. The Bel Air is basically an empty shell between the outside and inside of the car. The Malibu is stuffed with collision mitigating reinforcements in some places and energy absorbing features elsewhere.

  • Love how the Belair has the fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror. Classic.

  • das schöne Auto :'( die BelAir natürlich..!

  • If anyone thinks that the Bel Air is a 'safer' car then you need to lay off the crack. In the 50's and 60's, American car makers weren't concerned with safety at all. They spent more on sculpting the wings of the car than safety - it just wasn't a priority. It may be rusted, but at significant speed the result would be the same regardless.

  • @mediocrefunkybeat Thanks you for having a Brain, And using it lol. lets not forget that Chrysler didnt advertise Standard Air bags until when? Oh yeah, the 90's!

  • weak

  • THIS IS FAKE!!!!!!

  • @blackmetalofnorway1 I wish I could say that, but reading it up, it's real. It was done for the IIHS's 50th Anniversary back in 2009, I guess sort of their way of saying "Look how far we've come!" Either way, maybe the IIHS will further waste the Premiums of US Car owners by showing us how a Peel P.50 goes up against a KrAZ 255!

  • look at all that rust flying through the air lol

  • Oh no ... must be?? The top men have no heart for vintage ..:((

what is all this nonsense again ... a classic car less!

Chevrolet Malibu pott's just ugly! Chevrolet Malibu when driving over 100km / h against walls is just as flat! The new one is so ugly and you can scrap more ..

    .

  • Fake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @182shelli sadly but true it is real

I have pics of a Toyota prius that t boned a classic

it ride almost trough that classic car

  • @182shelli real

  • @182shelli Im pretty sure its real, the bel Air didnt even have Seat Belts. lol.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • but will it blend?

  • oh mein gott so schwul

  • This test is like a dogfight between a P-51 Mustang and a MiG-29: just unfair! It is clear that 50 years of chars technology are also 50 years of security development. This crash test is only a superfluous waste of a beautyful museums piece of motor car history. Btw. what would be the result if this so "safe" Chevrolet Malibu crashes into a Porsche Cayenne or Mercedes SLK?

  • noooooo!!!! WTF IS WRONG WITH U?!?!? THAT BEL AIR WAS MINT!!!!

  • I drive as my only and daily driver a 1947 Pontiac Silver Streak Streamliner Sport Dynamic Sedan Coupe. I have been in accidents before in an old car and here is whats up: in small accidents, an old car will hold up and keep you safe. though in an old car in a faster accident youre fucked. old cars are ment to HOLD UP in a crash. which is great for the car, sucks for the driver and passengers because the energy from the crash is directed then straight to you. nothing like old styling though!

  • the dummy of the bel air is still chilling with us ;D

  • you people really do amuse me... the bel air is more sturdy, no doubt. BUT!!! The malibu is SO MUCH MORE SAFE. cars nowadays are designed to crumple like that, so that if you hit something, IE, a wall... the car crumples and reduces some of the ineria. in the bel air, it is SOLID, so you will feel the whole force of the impact. Its like wrapping an egg in bubble wrap and another in a metal cage and dropping them both, the bubble wrap will absorb some of the energy from the impact.

  • The 59 was a rust bucket. If it wasn't it would have cremated the Malibu, steel vs plastic. On impact there's rust dust flying all around. 59 much better car and safer car when new.

    THE END

  • @mikestheman3 Nothing you said makes any sense. Did you watch the same video as everyone else?

  • @Strykenine just watch the brown dust flying around from the car upon impact. You'll never crunch a 59 Chev that easy unless most of the body mounts, fender bolts and brackets, etc. are rotted. The car was probably a total rust bucket before they painted it. Not only that, were all the bolts present? It's not like we had the option to give it a look over before they tested it. Remove 1/2 the bolts from anything it'll crumble very easily. Everything is a sales pitch today, keep that in mind.

  • sone schweinerei mit den alte autos!

  • jadan Chevrolet :(((

  • If that was a car from the 80's not a solid modern car the bel air wouldnt of been mashed quite so bad. Still bloody waste of a great classic car

  • 0:46 - 0:56 notice the fluffy dice it survived.

  • yes but the bel air will be remembered another 50 years from now, the malibu wont.

  • did the driver of the malibù dead?

  • What in the fuck is wrong with you people. This classic car is better than any of the POS ricers you drive.Yeah,it doesn't have 1500+ HP,and yeah, you don't have to WIND HER UP before going to the store.Dumbasses.

  • Ha ha! Old car lost! Craaaaaap!

  • i think this is a great oportunity to show that even classic cars are so nice they are not safe at all !

  • wymowne, choć serce się kraja

  • I've heard the dummie in the Malibu is a real douche.

  • Weeelll there goes the legs

  • OK. now try with a charger and see how it could go through those modern cars.. general lee!!!!

  • impressive.

  • This is Chevrolet Impala!!! Not Chevrolet Bel Air 1959!

  • Like a teen is beating a grandpa!

    Poor Bel Air :-(

  • Mailbu wins.

  • fuck your mama`s dead people;)

  • WTF ~! ~ WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?

  • Agree, that A Post is terrible... On the plus side, classic cars tend to be driven more carefully and do less mileage than modern cars. They are also a lot "greener" .( New cars use up new materials, plastic metal etc+ energy used in their construction.Add to that people driving to and from work to build the things, then shipping the finished vehicle half way around the world!) . More Safety Crash Tests on modern cars. ( Untill they"re all gone ! )

  • fuck that classic car! the design of the a-pillar was the demise of every classic car with that pillar during accidents. u see how it just collapsed? FAIL

  • @talonsbrutus

yeah, it is a CLASSIC car not a MODERN car... What did you expect?

Watch crash test with Chinese BRILLIANCE. Modern car with classic crash test results.

An, I may tell you a secret, the Chevrolet Bel Air 1959 really needs more gar, an pollutes the enviroment more than the Chevrolet Malibu!

  • +1 to the first comment

  • they should really use replicas instead of a real bel air

  • That make's me cry.

  • OMG my heart crying!

  • Fake!! The Bel air is made out of fiberglass, not the real 1959 Bel air, if was the real 59 Bel air, it wouldn't have collapsed like it did.

  • @215alessio true i wish monster jam would smash all the fucking gay mobiles like the yugos ect

  • If the cars go so fast. why dont make cars slower then no1 dies.....

  • They should make cars look like classics but with the insides of the present cars . You know what a mean?

  • that is so not true, the bel air would of maybe have to replace the fender, bumper and hood. but you def cant total a classic that old with a piece of plastic, plus if so they destroyed a classic either way.. shame.

  • this is fake its 3 ton car this would never happened my father used to have 76 Malibu and when he want to park the car he always enjoys hitting the wall to stop the car and you wont see a scratch on the metal bumper ...old car were as strong as a tank

and now car manufacturer say the problem of old cars they were to much strong and they dont absorb the energy of the accident but not as they are showing in this clip as they were too weak its exactly the OPPOSITE

  • @mallah656 you know nothing about body strength and crumple zones.a bumper tap is fine for an old car but in a full on collision they wouldnt stand a chance since everything after the bumper is unstructured steel. new cars like the this has something called CRUMPLE ZONES where the body is stronger and stronger the closer you get to the passengers.its got NOTHING to do with weight. and FYI they make bumpers soft today for pedestrian safety. hit a person with a bel air and you'll break their legs.

  • @republicfalcon after I readed your comment I was thinking: finaly one smart american, but then I readed you was from Canada...

    greetz

  • that guy got fucked up!

  • fools!you destroyan american classic!

  • I doubt that is a real bel air, a real one would have destroyed that malibu, they just want you to think the new car is safer.

  • @GuitarZzann exactly

  • just like fucking holly wood plz stop destroying all the classic dodge chargers they are so rare because of u ass holes there shoud be some laws nd tht was a beautiful chevy!!!! why would u wreck it??????? to test a shitty camrymalibu????? gayass motherfuckers!!!!!!!

  • @asdg106 what about the monster smash (bigfoot) you guys pay for? thats also a carnage for classic cars

  • What fucking gay had that idea? Destroying such a classic car? Are you serious? Drunken? insane? Forgot your brain hat home? However had that idea, i hope you rot in hell! Shame on you!!!! :-(

  • Bel Air won clairly!

  • WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Why the Bel Air:'(

  • Jesus fucking christ!!!! how fucking retardedly retarded and fucking damn fucking dumb do you have to be to do something like this, jesus, dud i get poked by a syringe withacid in ur fucking heads!?!??! never show off this shit again you mother fucking retarded stupid assfaces of mother fuckers whoresons! This was rather annoying, don't youy agree!?

  • next time you do the test, let the people no the car had no motor, If the car had a motor in the car it would not be the same damage, But I understand you are out to make a old car look bad.

  • if you are going to have a crash just take the new car. That way you dont waste a classic and you survive !its a win win

  • old cars are a fucking deathtrap damn !!!

  • Nice!

  • NOOO! Not the Bel AIR! :(

  • Triumph of the scientific method! :-)

    Take THIS, religious nutheads!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i cried

  • this fucked up my day !!

  • @hiiityou mine too :(

  • this fucked up my day !!

  • Old cars: so unsafe, so vulnerable...Despite being a classic, it is a pity to see that the new Malibu did not suffer much damage in the compartment while the driver of the "classical one" is dead already...Old cars were like foils...

  • U can see all the rust and bondoe poppin off.

  • They should rebuild classic cars like them with todays security standards. With rebuild I mean no facelift at all. That would be great.

  • Wow, an old car is not as safe as a new one.. Really surprising..

    You idiots, that beautiful car!!!

  • Terrorists win.

  • old american cars are crap

  • @loppar3

New ones too, but the old look at least good

  • @loppar3 Buy a Russian Moskvich car and you will see how safe is that.

  • For all of the commenters here who still believe that this crash was "manipulated":

    /watch?v=Tb_e3tllSfE

The crashtests in the above video were executed just a few years after '59. They used new cars, perhaps even prototypes, but can clearly see the catastrophic results of relatively low speed crashes.

So naturally, even if the Bel Air was in perfect condition, the Malibu (or any other modern car regardless of size and weight) would have cut through it like a knife through butter.

  • Slow mo, not low speed!

  • yeah that was just stupid... you couldve found an old big body in the hood for 1200 bucks... retards

  • Its not like we're replacing classic cars... we should probably keep as many as possible.

  • Why did they destroy that classic car? Thoughtless.

  • @carib0055 ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I KNOW WTF! THAT WAS A CLASSIC FUCCCCCCKKKKK

  • @carib0055 Wow. Lay off the juice.

  • @carib0055 LMAO!!!!!

  • @carib0055 you mean that piece of shit? :)

  • @carib0055 Yo what the fuck is wrong with you? The classic car will kill you!!!!!!

  • @carib0055

    it's ugly anyways :P

  • crap this is coooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • غريبه

كنت متوقع ان القديمه يخرب الصدام فقط

    لكن

    العكس صار

تكسرت السياره - كانها صادمه بتريلا

  • that is bullsht! why did they use one cool ass bel air!!!! why don't they just use some shitty 80's caprice, that is not worth as much and as not as cool!

  • my grandpa had a car like tht... it looks about the same now

  • They don't make 'em like they used too... thank god.

  • Skide godt, Egon! Sie haben unsere Auto gestossen !!!!

  • Bel Air is dead

    Malibu is dead

    poor LA

    haha ;D

    hey these cars are awesome!

  • YOU BITCHES WASTED ANOTHER CLASSIC CAR !

  • Bel Air Driver death

  • what a waste of another classic

  • @ragnaroyoutub that classic would have wasted your life , but still it's a pretty classic.

  • @ragnaroyoutub its a copy of original

  • If someone hangs fluffy dice from their rear view mirror, their car deserves to be written off.

  • i think driver is dead !!!

  • WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY WRECK THAT OLD CAR??????

  • @Ig2gpce cuz they can

  • isn't kind of wired that every crash test almost all the cars DIE and in real crashes the cars are just fine!

  • As far as the seat belt claim, if the Bel Air was still built today, I think the seat belts would have been made mandatory after a while...

  • @Slimer2x3 Yes,... I only brought up the seat belt to demonstrate the lack of thinking in terms of safety.

  • what a waste of a classic car... still like them XD and would rather drive that then a car with no style :P

  • Crumple Zones!

  • 1970 cars were build more around good looks than crash safety :P

  • Comment removed

  • Ooop's I meant to say the way it was filmed, not filed...

    Bad grammar.. :P

  • Ah the good old days.. when your legs were actually the crumplezone.

Amazing to see that american car completly disintegrating while the new car has an intact front window even.

  • OMFG 0:49 LOL!

  • endlos schade um den Bel Air...

  • lieber in nem geilem geilen auto sterben als in ner 08/15 karre schwer verletzt werden...
