  • venus and mars one of mc cartney´s greatest albums. thanks 4 ever

  • Paul, the creator of Pop music

  • wow that was awesome

  • I would've given my left nut to be at this show....even though I was only 11 in 1976, I was already a Beatle and Wings fanatic. Eventually saw Paul live years later.

Great performance here, love the speeded up tempo. Long live Paul!

  • Some songs just take me back with so many memories and images, this is definitely one of them

  • Love this song<3 More important though, I love this MAN. He's a living legend.

  • Love this song. The tempo is too fast. Great bands often speed up the concert tempo so they can play their great songs within a reasonable amount of time. I wish they wouldn't do that. I'd rather here fewer songs at the normal tempo.

  • looks like there are 5 dipshits that bothered to chime in.... next step is run into the nearest knife...

  • PAUL MCCARTNEY YEA-YEEAAHHH

this performance is amazing i wish i can learn to play like him well doesnt every1 hahaha hes the best!!!

  • ..."Here is a song to shake thy bum too".

  • Esta versión en vivo es superior.... Me encanta

  • Wow - the first McCartney song I ever bought, that begun a 34 year love affair with The Beatles and solo Beatles!

  • Venus and Mars was the first album I bought, back in '74...I played the grooves off it.

  • He is so adorable :)

  • Wow, he's really burnin it up with those amazing tom fills... Good song though.

  • the live version is the best

  • I can't stop watching this video. Even if the tape is sped up just a bit, it's such a great performance of an already amazing song. Man, I wish I was around for the Wings Around The World tour back in '76.

  • paul is so fantastically talented and as he said immediately following this show, "we play louder than our records," which REALLY improves this song. but i'm so SURE Paul, shame. the fake harmonies added in the studio around 2:12- naughty boy! but the 'man,' what a once in a lifetime talent.

  • Godbless Joe English

  • Paul is THE real and only one KING of pop for ever.......

  • You can say that again!

  • @elmakartany Take it easy... The only KING OF POP is the late Michael Jackson! Go take a look at his Motown 25 performance and then tell us if you have ever seen anything like that.

  • @BillLeme

I won't change my mind Billeme,I like what Michael Jackson does too,he's also a great artist indeed.

  • @elmakartany um he is a classic rock artist pal.

  • @elmakartany what a lightweight. What silly lightweight songs.

  • Yeah, back then, I agree..but....nowdays, he doesn't sound very good :-p

  • Oh I will shake my bum!

  • I don't think Paul has been happy ever since the love of his life died. he has a great band today and still sounds as good as he did over 40 yrs. ago. I love paul. he has a funny joke he posted for you tube as well. hope you guys who read this check it out.

  • Joe English is the best drummer Paul ever had in Wings. His energy was awesome, really propelled the guys.

  • Sir Paul has written lots of excellent music that spans my entire lifetime of listening to music and brings back so many memories of my younger days !!Songs I will always cherish for as long as I live !!!! Specially this one !! One of the nicest people You would ever dream of meeting !!! God Bless you Sir Paul And your Passing of your wife Linda from Cancer ... God speed to you my good friend !!! Ron Here in the states

  • I agree with this post. I was only 14 during this tour, while I wish I could have been there I probably wouldn't have appreciated it as much as I do the Album. I have it on vinyl and CD and will continue to keep it close at hand until I pass on. Wings Over America has some of the best live recorded music I've ever heard.

My kids love the album too. Especially on Let em in when Paul say's "do me a flavor". I hope I get to see him before it's all over.

  • I agree with nyttrepos247. My post didn't end up in the same spot I thought it would.

  • I Saw this live still have the tickett stub to prove it 13 years old

  • I guess...I should re-phrase that ! Ha!

  • hahaahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • i think.. paul mccartney/john lennon in first place

  • Good to see the only real love of Sir Paul's life, his beloved late wife, Linda featured in this classic video. Paul and

Linda shared a bond that will always

endure within the heart and soul of Paul

until the day he dies. Paul is the ..best !

  • I like Linda's smile.

  • Oh Pauly how could I not resist to shake my B... ha!

  • as a player, i know that performers often speed up mid-tempo tunes live so it keeps the audience dancing and the energy level up.

  • Paul would just get a little rushed occasionaly on some tunes. No big thing. Stage adrenaline. I mentioned this to his drummer Joe in 1980, and he said it was common for excitement to take over.

    mike

  • yea i'm sure you and paul's drummer had many extensive conversations around that time....

  • No, just the one. I met him in Lexington, Ky. I believe it was early 80s. He was playing with his own band at the time.

    mike

  • wings over america is a great live album, i think paul was near the top of his game at this point

  • Shake yer bum!!!!

  • merely saying this is great.

  • Sir Paul McCartney is the greatest Entertainer Since the creation of

mankind ! He is a phenomenol

    musician, songwriter, Pioneer

of modern rock & Roll, and the list

goes on and on...He is the Chairman

    of Rock & Roll ! Sir Paul is # 1 !!!

  • very well said....he's the king, forget elvis

  • Luv This Version Way To Go Paul +

Wow GR8 Move Macca (Shake yer Bum) LOL!!

  • "Listen To What The Man Said" was McCartney's first #1 song with his group simply called WINGS. From the RAM album (1971) to the BAND ON THE RUN album (1973), his group was known as Paul McCarney & Wings. VENUS AND MARS is also the first album to be titled simply WINGS.

  • good song

  • luvvit !! thanx 4 postin.

  • THere's a songwriter that Paul wrote this for, anyone remember who, I forgot.

  • Who cares the song even sped up is amazing!

  • Sometimes tunes are sped up when played live to make it sound more alive, he did this too with Magneto & Titanium Man as well as You Gave Me The Answer which both sound better than the studio cuts. If you've ever seen that movie That Thing You You Do, I believe they sped it up when they first performed the number live and it ended up making it sell.

  • Sounds so fast though. I agree with Macintosh Dan.

  • my gosh...all I can do is shake my head in awe...this guy is just freaking incredible.

  • lol

    i love this faster version

i also love when Paul gets up and shakes his bum :D :D

  • It doesn't seem like it's sped up as are as the film, the band had sped the song up. They just changed it around a bit. Was lovely though wasn't it. I liked this version better, and Magneto and Titanim more live as well

  • brilliant top drawer maca.

  • Why does anyone suppose Paul tranposed it up, and sped it up so much. When a performer speeds-up their song, in sounds like they wana get through it and be done, like they're tired of it. Denny, Henry, and Linda's backing vocals sound supereb!

  • Actually, the tape sounds sped up. Just listen to how weird Paul sounds. The concert was, I supposed played in a normal key, but it was sped up during editing or something. It's superb though.

  • Yeh with VHS I think things automatically speed up. Either that or the rush of energy at doing a great gig?

  • No it is not the tape. My father was at this show and distinctly remembered this song sounding faster than the record. Paul doesn't sound weird at all. I actually like it better myself.

  • Oh, then there we have it. Glad to have found out, this was kind of in question. Thanks!

  • what a great tune!

  • "chopin" in "sedicesimi"...my dear Paul you are a genius...i dont know if nobody can arrive at your livel...here an italian drummer..that know that only a bassist like you can make this music...i love you Paul!

  • my favorite song by him

  • And this is one of those songs that restore my faith in life. Take it from a guy who regularly wants to cease to exist.

  • Joe English simply rocks on this one.

  • MR.BEATLES

  • nice

  • Did Dave Mason play guitar on the original version?

  • I love this song!! Paul McCartney is too great!!

  • VIVA PAUL...!!!

  • Now --this is whats life all about!!!!

  • yah liverpolgirl i agree with u,heather mills has since been booked to hell,..she's only after sir paul's money,..beatles forever!

  • This is awesome and much better live.

  • I would post a comment to say how great I think paul mccartney is. but it can't be put in words.

  • hether mills can go to the hell , PAUL is the best ,the one , the unic and nobudy will be beside him.

  • This video is sped up. I like the original speed better. :) This is also on "The McCartney Years", but widescreen.

  • Sped up? People occasionally play things faster live you know, could it be that?

  • No, because I saw the original version on the McCartney Years, and it is a tempo on there.

  • Ah right...who knows then? Whenever they seem to show Beatles on TV the songs are a pitch higher. I do like this version I must say...if you bang the song on afterwards it pales in comparison. Same with Silly Love Songs (from this same concert/DVD).

  • Yeah, I love this version too. And I have the original version on DVD, too! I'm very happy. You know, this is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums. ;)

  • tons of energy

  • paul es el mas chingon

  • yea!

  • love this song! awsome!
