  • i love this man simply because he's just so distinct in his ways and hs words of choice are just extravagant and peculiar....

  • Absolutely nonsense simple english is needed, if this guy do a course work in Western world would get zero. English language is not about coded grammers speaks what everyone can understand. I am talking to Nigerians/African in Western world and reasonable Nigerians back home, they will understand me more better.

  • mock him after you learn how to spell grammar

  • DO ''tanks'' patrol LAgos Ore Benin Road???

  • When I first came to Nigeria,

And I heard grown men talking,

I said to myself, WHAT THE FUCK!

    All-day, All-night.

  • pathetic

  • Thumbs Up if u can do the macaba dance. lool

  • so the guys is saying " Dismal Abysmal" but he has accent so it obsfuscate the true sound of the word.

  • " it is not the drivers of lorries and tanks who have brought pains to Nigerian People

NO Rather, it is because of the failure of government

Benini-ore-lagos road today is in a state of calamity, so if the roads is in a state of anomie, if driving through the roads is engaging in a macabre dance, culpability is that of government. it will be sadonic, it will be lugubrious, and it will be a state of " Dismal Abysmal" if parliamant does not rise this morning to fix culpability where culpa.

  • hahaha this is funny and stupid at the same.

  • Culpability

    Sardonic

    Dismal-Abysmal

    Lugubrious

Hate him or love him the words actual convey sense.

  • It ll be sadonic, it will be lugubrious, and it will be a state of dismal pessimal........' This guy too much I beg....lol

  • 'it will be sadonic, it will be lugubrious, and it will be a state of dismal pessimal......" all of them are correct words....The guy too much!!!

  • Hope all the 'holier-than-thou" Nigerians, who live in denial abroad and pretend not to have anything to do with Nigeria or be Nigerian, will eat up their words one day soon - when the light of the Lord will shine upon this country. I pray we all live to see it!

What annoys me, is that I know, yes we've got a lot of self-made issues and problems, but don't go sitting and jesting in the UK or the US thinking that some of these people do not have a huge hand in Africa's problems.

  • Hi, please can anyone advise if this guy was voted back into the House of Reps in 2011 elections?

  • @Tampinu Unfortunately he lost in the primary elections..so he didn't even make it that far..but b4 he got to the house of rep..he was in edo state house of assembly for 8yrs entertaining us..b4 he took it to the national level.

  • @dafuma1 Seen, Thanks for the info, he looks set to be in the limelight for much longer. Perhaps, he's gonna attempt to return to the state house of assembly and work his way back up.. who knows...I quite like his courage though...Elephantly grateful.

  • dumb fools, they dont realise the whole world just laughs at them - sad

  • The Queen of England no dey speak this kind English oooooo! lmfao!!!!

  • anyone who believes that they can in some way attempt to justify this man's serious violations of the english language, need to watch this video from about 43 seconds in and accept his foolishness

    /watch?v=KQP2U59pKgA&feature=related

  • THERE. IS. NO. NEED!!!

Someone needs to take the thesaurus away from this guy cos he's overcomplicating his life. Plus he can't pronounce the big words he knows so it ends up coming out as jibberish.

Keep it simple my broda o!

  • If only all Nigerian law makers have this kind of passion, the roads are truly in a state of disrepair, it’s obviously affecting the commerce and prosperity of the country. Unfortunately big English will only put those buffoons off as it’s apparent in the video. The only language they speak is bribe and nepotism. What happens to the love for your country?

  • What else could he have done than talk to himself. He is paid 998 million naira yearly to do so

  • i love this guy... he makes me laugh anytime. i hav few resources for entertainment and he supplemented ... i love him for that..... if all our leaders will put laughter in our faces in anyway they can.....imagine that.

  • This man na comedian ooooooo

like his blonders nd he is so confident

  • dishma bishma is not a word go bak 2 shcul and learn english..... STUPID!!! ..........to nigerian pepull NO! check dah on 28 sec ov dah stupidity he's talkin abwt

  • @blackhood41 *back *to *school *people *of *talking *about

  • @blackhood41 hese words are the obvious Latin-based antonyms for "optimal" and "optimise", but for some reason they do not appear in most English dictionaries, although "pessimise" is listed in the OED.

  • @Jeffroland100 so in other words dishma bishma is a word lmfao!!

  • Dis guy would make a gud activist, he should reduce his grammar so dat everyone wud simply undastnd wat he's sayin... communication is wat matters here

  • Is quiet unfortunate you are not well educated, what do you mean his english is not a word?you can't even spell his english so how would you knows the meaning of his word.search for dismal means: Causing gloom or depression is also informal pitifully or disgracefully bad, infact there are so many meanings to it.just check in ur dictionary as for bishma it is spell pessimal and means:Maximally bad

  • Who is dis guy? This is much better than stand up comedy, I'm feeling it

  • hey y'll as someone who has an ardor for reading(started reading when I was in primary school), did GRE(Graduate Record Exam-scored 760) I find this ludicrous!!! I've a Nigerian friend who referred me to this video. The guy most definitely knows his vocabulary(I gotta give him that) BUT he seems to throw his words all over. He is saying sardonic Not sadonic. Sardonic means something evil or acerbic(bitter) or sarcastic. I also had to play this a couple of times coz his accent is not that great.

  • after watching this clip the song Mr Grammarticalogylisationalism springs to mind.

  • i cnt believe dis, wat about does dat doesnt even understand to his level, i tired of him honestly....

  • the guy is not communicating sometimes he should consider simple english.

  • At the end of the video my head exploded lol.

  • i love the point not emphasing too much and getting your points/views across, u dont need to use big grammer when u known out of 150 million nigerian only 10-50 million nigerians will know what he is saying. Who would not love to speak like him. i would but get ur views across before u start cyclops lol .

  • loool at the guy laughing at Hon Patrick Obahiagbon 0:56

  • the dictionary defined the word Anomie as 'a state of no moral or social principles in a person or in society '

  • Does he understand himself at all? And even if he does, what is his aim? impress people with poor diction or send a message? Dude you suck at it, i bet more people will understand him if he spoke good ol' pidgin English.

    Teekah

  • Does he understand himself at all? And even if he does, doesn't he hope to be understood and send a message? Dude wake up! no one is impressed, you suck at it. I better your message will be better received if you spoke good ol' pidgin English

  • Whahala Wao Ooo

  • abuse him all you want, understand him or not, this guy is ELOQUENT! brings back memories of mock parliament in secondary school. we need real speakers in this country...

  • that guy speaks English both of Cyclops world ,thank u thisis9ja from the write up ,if u think he speaks rubbish ...than Google it this company also owns youtube so they are right place to tell

  • kileleyin so oh

  • omo shame wan kill me. I still love naija die! LWKMD!

  • It is not the drivers of lorries and tanks who have brought pains to Nigerian people,

    NO!!

Rather, it is because of the FAILURE of government,

Benin-Ore-Lagos road today is in a state of CALAMITY,

so, if the roads is in a state of ANOMIE, If driving through the roads is engaging in a MACABRE dance, CULPABILITY is that of government. It will be SARDONIC. It will be LUGUBRIOUS,and it will be a state of DISMAL BISMER if parliament does not rise this morning to fix CULPABILITY where culpability is

  • this guy is just fully chatting shit

  • bare lol when the heard the world macabadans i know am not even spellings the worlds rights i spit my drink to the floor lol.

where is this man from. i would love to learn the words but not use extentsivly

  • dist-balisma is in the dictionary. the guy knows what he saying, we just need to get to his level. Lol

  • just out of curiosity is there any word like dishma bishma or did he invent it? and i believe it's raise this money not rise this money 1:06 , a little shelling there (amongst many others) hon. Patrick.

  • @rorabokele LMAO! Ask again o! i thought he was saying that Parliament should rise this morning to fix the problem (y'know not literally). No i'm even more confused as if i wasn't confused enough listening to him speak LOL! Chai!

Also, he must have been saying "dismal abysmal" i think, although i don't see y he's using both together if not just for show. Oh my word Naija 4 life lol!

  • Mental case!

  • Hon Patrick Obahiagbon - FOR PRESIDENT 2011, 3 terms! At least he cares about the roads - most of the words are legitimate, perhaps an overkill but nonetheless he is mostly saying what is on his mind. I have dusted off my thesaurus so I can get the message.

  • @ urbanchica....slightly wrong....anomie...engaging the macabre dance...culpability is that of government..sardonic...lugubrious...parliament does not right this money

  • This man ans Sam Loco should challenge each other...

  • LMbooooo! " If the road is in a state of anomy.....corpability is that of government. It will be sardonic, it will be lugubrious and it'll be a state of disma bisma."

  • At least someone takes their job seriously in The HOP. Gotta love him! More grease to your jaws bruv! Lol lol!

  • Dam bruv! The queen no Dey even speak this kind English na! Lmfao!!!!

  • Lunatic in the house

  • Osheyee, mind you "pot & kettle" is not = modus operandi. House of rep is not a kingdergarten play ground. Did u see the whole picture? This image is viewed around the world and do you know how mockery and ludicrous it is to our nation and what it says about our own people? I may have used a strong word to describe your brother, but my opinion maybe shared by millions of Nigerians. Peace

  • If driving through the roads is a "casing the macabre dance" = Dance of Death.

  • @olojulagbari Listen well... that is not what he said. what he said is "if driving through the roads is engaging in a macabre dance"

  • fix the road perhaps he will stop speaking this way.

  • This bastard lacks the ability to communicate effectively. His behaviour is juvenile as if he is a junior secondary school boy flaunting his vocabulary speaking abilities. Communication is the ability to convey a message to the receiver in a plain language that can be comprehended. Patrick does not know the modus operandi of communicating with the people that elected him. What a fool

  • @Alakpuma It is understandable that you do not appreciate Hon. Obahiagbon's 'communication skills' (your opinion). It was absolutely distateful and disgraceful reading your comment; you have no reason what soever to refer to him as a "bast*#d". All he did was, raise a motion in the house regarding the state of Nigerian roads...and you branded him 'a fool'..'a bast%&d'...It is totally uncalled for. And you said 'modus operandi of communicating'?? LMAO Two words come to mind..pot & kettle.

  • @Alakpuma This is what I am saying. He cannot communicate with the people he's serving. Let's be honest, you do not need so much vocabulary to get your point. It starts to become annoying really.

  • @Alakpuma- Spot on man!! I wish the boneheads aggrandizing this numskull could understand the basic concepts of communication. I give you a thumbs up for that

  • @iamaproudafrican you are not serious..right?

  • @listenteetee- what do you mean by that?

  • lmao

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhah dis a disgrace brover speak plain English for the sake of ur people u represent

  • hahaha..thats naija for you ooo..so much drama hahaha...its always a case of the illiterates leading the literates in naija,,,haha

  • @tonydaymn and who are you???

  • It is not the drivers of offf off of Lorries and tanks

So if the road is in the state of anomy

If driving through the roads is againsting the macabadance

    Copability in state of government

    It will be sadonic

    It will be lugubirous

And it will be a state of dishma bishma

if Parliament does not rise this morning

to fix copability where copability is

  • @urbanchica i love it! lol

  • @urbanchica lol U try well o seeing as i had to listen to him 2xce to pick on the words as he blatantly mispronounced them but the words are actually: anomie, macabre dance, culpability and sardonic...

I find it rather pathetic that after such a well written speech he had to show that he spent the night with an oxford dictionary and lace each consecutive sentence with words that will fly over the heads of even the English

  • @urbanchica

lol here is the interpretation..i really had to search the dictionary

Anomie- social instability resulting from a breakdown of standards and values; also : personal unrest, alienation, and uncertainty that comes from a lack of purpose or ideals

by saying macabadance, he meant macadamize

meaning to construct or finish (a road) by compacting into a solid mass a layer of small broken stone on a convex well-drained roadbed and using a binder (as cement or asphalt) for the mass

  • @teehbeebz i thought he meant macabre dance (dance of death) which will make sense considering the fact the riotous driving in nigeria

  • i don't know what her means by sadonic..maybe he just decided to add onic at the end of sad

    lugubirous- exaggeratedly or affectedly mournful

By dishma he meant Dismal meaning

obsolete : disastrous, dreadful showing or causing gloom or depression

    lacking merit : particularly bad

bishma is abysmal meaning immeasurably low or wretched <abysmal living conditions of the poor

lol it took webster's dictionary to figure out what he is saying. He has good english, pronounsation is just awfully bad!

  • @urbanchica What is "dishma bishma"?

  • he give me bare joke.... i watch their sessions regularly hopin' he would speak... we need more of him in the house to lift the gloom...

  • They are laughing when important issue is being on debate! Even the so called speaker of the house!

  • culpability, = whose at fault

  • kweke! oyibo ohhhh, geese!

  • free madness

  • The embarrassing nuisance ruling My Country. God will punish them. Too much oyinbo gramer inthe house of Rep/Senate

  • X- Factor. Hon. Pat Got Talent.

  • the rest understand at all ?

  • This man is taking the piss; as the ENGLISH PEOPLE, whom he's trying to copy, would say. We put him in the house and pay his wages with our taxes, what right has he to misbehave?? does he think even his colleagues take him seriously when he speaks? They begin to laugh because they think of him as light entertainment. He should be made to speak plain English or Pidgin even by his constituents - i cant believe they think he's in Abuja doing a good job for them. Is this what he wants as a legacy?

  • Dis Man is Comedian. Lol is Right Anyway Culpability means Responsibility, Fault, Guilt and more!, It's Govt responsibility to repair damage roads. Try and get use of his grammar.

  • lol this is so funny

  • I am a fan..

  • You see African problem? Even the English man don't use these kind of words especially in a public service office. This is another reason why Africa or Nigeria has so much problems. They don't speak plainly and their goverrnance is not transparent.

  • Typical Benin man...

  • @okesamuel nah dis man nah disgrace to most "educated" bini people...nah only the uneducated dey take dis idiot seriously.

  • But we need copper to fix this Culpability. . .

  • BABA ONI CALAMITY ATI ANUMI

  • i think this minister should be on the next night of a thousand laughs....lol

  • Since culpability is the problem, dey shld better arrest him(culpability).

  • @ Mariamfontaine....Culpability is the adverb of "culpable" which means deserving blame.

  • @syreefoxy how can i get the pixs saved to my pc

  • will someone tell this illiterate to shut up and say what an average Nigerian will hear instead of making fool of himself in the public.

  • His mannerisms remind me of my communication professor in my freshman year.

  • He is an Entertainer. Do u kno dat He is far beta dan so many seat warmers in dat house? He makes point. U 'll understand him if u don,t mind his GRAMMAR. Hw many pple do u kno in d house. I think He is among d 1st 3; Bankole, Eteh, Patrick. ........I like Him.

  • Good to see characters like Hon Patrick in the house, forget the grammar, the man is making sense. I wish we had more like him.

  • loool a tate ovvv calamtee=stat of calamity

  • The road remain a death trap to millions of Nigerians every year., due to avoidable road accident, and armed robbery, All these debate had happened even before the last massacre of commuters by armed bandits who ran a commuter bus across people without money on the road. All these happen due to the poor state of the road, that a 3hrs journey now takes 8hrs to 12hrs. and drivers drive on the wrong lane against the road design.

  • @Nestoba hell yehhhhh...... to even go nigeria is not in my blood anymore.......

  • This man needs to face reality, when majority of his constituent can't understand whatever the hell he's saying- he does great injustice to the promotion of democracy!!

  • Culpability is a word

  • this guy is just a fool.

  • I love this man, what a character.

  • This man is notorious for bastardizing simple statements.

  • What the heck does he say at 1:07??? is that even a word???? lol

  • na wa ooh :)

  • Bebecent, you don't have to be insultive. I think you were rude. I'm also a big fan of this man, because I know him personally. Apart from his grammar, I like his personal lifestyle. Calling people name like mugu, stupid, etc, is not too proper. There are other better ways of passing your message across.

    Greetings to my people. (Nigerians)..

    Cheers.

  • Clearly this man doesn't understand the major headache he is giving his mates or how he is also making a fool out of himself!

(translated for Patrick so that he doesn't have to lower his IQ to understand me) - Perspicuously said personage does not fathom the cataclysmic desolation he is conducting upon his compeer in addition to begetting a semblance of asinine cretinousness on his persons.

Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon you need to learn to cut out the grammar and cut to the chase!

  • nice.

  • loooooool stupid nigerians!

  • stupid???? where are you from and what makes you think the people in your country are wiser??

    YOU BLOODY FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oi dont be dissing nigerians in general, its just him and its not like english is his first language. although i do understand that that polititian there was making a mockery of the english language. never heard grammer so butchered 'culpability!' lol

I hope i have been able to point out your level of stupidity??? The fact is that hon Obahiagbon is far better than u!!!! lmao

  • Are yu dat vexed, yu are taking it personal. What part of Nigeria are yu from. you sound very aggressive, immature, and rude. • I got a semester's worth of upper level English from this clip. When it comes to communication, it is not what you say, it is what people hear. The high grammar nature of his words is completely unnecessary when he could as well say; The roads are in disrepair and it is not the fault of the common driver but that of the government, and only the government should bear the responsibility of fixing the mess they have created. This lends understanding to the common man and academics alike.

  • @cuzoanya you are right. It seems that is just his weak point. But if he tries to become simple , then he ends up not talking articulately as he desires.

  • Why is this man locution such an anathema to some of you? This is simply his interpellation idiosyncrasy. Besides, he uses those words celestially and bewitchingly correctly! If your linguistic prowess or other decrepitude fails you and you're therefore incapacitated to extol and savvy his articulation, you're at absolute liberty to cork your auscultating anytime he takes to the mic!

  • @those who do not really know this guy.

I've got to know on him tv since 1996 when asked a simple question about his opinion on issues about a local market(Oba Market) in an interview. Since then we've always been watching out for an interview with him on tv and at least someone amongst us always had a dictionary, a pen and a piece of paper on standby.

That's how he talks in the public but the funny thing about it is that, these words are used correctly!

  • we will never appreciate ourselves, at least the guy is funny. If you check those words he used in the dictionary, they are very much appropriate in describing that road.
