  • NO SOUND. WTF!!! Youtube sucks!!!

  • Why is the sound gone? There are lots of videos with western music which is copyrighted. Isn't it true that the YouTube company already has paid for copyrights?

  • Shows maybe the benefit of getting a stream reader and recording these things while they are available. Some Neil Young in my playlist has just gone recently.

  • FUCK YOUTUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats the best intro to a song, to bad the sounds gone

  • fail

  • Well, this sucks. This has been in my playlist forever.

  • WHAT THE FUCK?? WHERE'S THE SOUND??!!!

sorry for the language...but i'm an insane clapton fan... :'-(

  • ROX !!

  • this guy has come a long way. going from a heroin addict to an alcoholic and is all i now so far. if u like i recommond his autobiography called Clapton

  • The guy that says "Remember Duane Allman" is totally right. Clapton is overated. Allman made Layla and the entire album what it was. Listening to Clapton during the piano solo is the perfect example of a solo with very little emotion, it just goes no where.

It's amazing how Claption never mentions Duane and what he did for the song and record. Clapton is a great guitarist, but falls a bit short of the true great innovators. He even stole that piano solo from Jim Gordon.....

  • That's ridiculous. The entire Derek & The Dominos record was attributed to all of the musicians involved. Duane Allman would never have had such a canvas to paint his notes on if Clapton wasn't around. This video shows that Clapton can certainly pull his own weight without Duane. Allman didn't even play on the first couple of sides on that album. The album was destined to become a legendary recording whether Duane was there or not.

  • I've never seen anyone play with their back to the audience before

  • awesome... there are no words for it :-))) thx for posting it...

  • 3:44 is effin' orgasmic.

  • are u just messin??? r they there for the irish show too???, i cant stand doyle bramhall, i much prefer eric soloing than dolyes trite, hes just not clapton, when and is around eric does all the solos which is amazing!

  • Yeah, andy will be at the irish shows

  • Simply.....GOD!!!

  • You can't forget Mark Knopfler. When he and Clapton do this song together, he blows Clapton off the stage.

  • really think so?..(i didn't downrate ur comment btw) ...knopfler might have done that once or so...but i have some epic layla versions in my collection, and there's in my oppinion no way he could be outplayed on those...or maybe by Duane Allman if that poor cat was still around..

but eric clapton is one of the best musicians all over the world.

i always compare him with composers like bach,händel or strauss.

    G_R_E_A_T

  • i want that strat

  • Nobody does it better.

  • Best version of layla I've ever heard

  • the best one is the 1999 madison square garden.Better solo.

  • saw him in Norfolk at the coliseum and to this day there is no one that tops his music and guitar playing. Would like to see him and Mason together. OMG it would be a mind blowing concert.

  • Fantastic song and difficult to perform both the vocal and lead at the same time which is why he isn't playing the lead. ONe of my all time favorite songs.

  • best version of the layla solo ever this rocks

  • That tone is just awesome, blows the woman tone away.

  • dud note about 7:32 :p

    great song

  • 鳥肌が立ちました!!

  • god

  • all of you guys are dumb it was not before cream it was during Derek and the Dominoes and yes Clapton was on heroin but this song has nothing to do with that it was written about Patti Boyd

  • this song isen't is from Clapton

  • yes it is he wrote it about george harrison of the beetles wife before derek and the dominoes and cream. get your facts right

  • what are you talking about?!

  • The best song from Mr. Clapton

  • Best version I´ve ever seen...

  • Masterpiece!!!

  • anyone know about the other lead guitarist guitar? how does he get that tone?

  • David Sancious, is the guy playing the gold Strat stage right. It sounds like he is playing it through a phaser unit. The DVD this comes off "One more car, one more rider, is brilliant and the sound quality will blow you away if you thought the tone on his guitar sounded good on here.

  • thanks for that, but do u know he makes it sound so soft and undescribable really lol

  • makes me wanna pick up my guitar every time I see this.

    clapton is my fucking god!!!!

  • clapton is god

  • 5* great :)!

  • i really like the tone of the gold strat being used. its really nice

  • hes the cream

  • oh pleaae his is the best of all times

  • omg why does everyone have to argue over whos better

  • because they like to feel their opinion matters to others

  • however clapton is a genius and is nothing less than that

  • As if Clapton wasn't involved with drugs.

  • umm... he was he even said.. so pete townshed even held a concert to help him kick his drug abbuse

  • and you think that the "cocaine" title came from heaven? he was a hard addict, fortunatelly he came back with a help of his let's say "faith gurou" i don't know how to say it in english properly :) but he vas an addict...

  • so you have to do do drugs to understand blues?

    fuck this shit...

  • oh so u have?

  • You're an idiot. "Cocaine" wasn't written by Clapton. It was a cover of a J.J. Cale tune.

  • He wasn't addicted to Cocaine. That song was written by J.J. Cale. Read a book once in a while...

  • Sorry, sarcasm lost without my voice!

  • innovation with being high?? wtf, do you know how much music he made and he also changed the way a guitar should be played. you forget that his career was only 3-4 years. and hendrix also made clapton go of stage because hendrix played killing floor so fast and "crazy".

  • You're another moron. The state of rock guitar was changed forever by Hendrix. He did things in the studio that had never been done before, he changed the state of stage performance, and made the world aware of jazz-like improvisation in rock music, much as Cream did. He also worked the groove like no one else in his day.

  • well first off i think that you are all idiots com[aring clapton to hendrix. their styles were just to different. they were both innovators of the instrument. And to saying that clapton isnt as good as he used to be is stupid. i saw him in june and he was incredible. he played better and tighter with his band than i have heard on any live recording from the 70s plus back then he was drunk all the time.

  • Both differentially different. But Clapton was the cream

  • CLAPTON PLAYS WITH PASSION UNLIKE TODAYS MUSIC, MAN!!

I LIKE METALLICA too ( they do too play passion), BUT FOR YOU, CLAPTON'S MUSIC IS NOT YOUR TYPE, WHICH YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. OF COURSE, Your into heavy metal, shredding. Clapton is more a rock-blues type of player. NEXT TIME, DON'T COMPARE ORANGES and APPLES. THERE TWO DIFFERENT ROCK GENRES.

  • You're an Idiot, definetely!! Idiot qind blowin every time you move your mouth.. I think that also Dylan wrote this song for you..

  • Umm...do you mean Duane Allman? Clapton did cover Dylan songs, but this definitely isn't one of them. Actually, this song is all Clapton, with help of Duane on the guitar part.

Clapton originally dreamed of the song sounding like his acoustic version, but this version proved to be much more popular at the time.

  • truest words ever spoken:P

  • i don't mean to be an asshole, but where the hell is the duane allman style slide guitar solo, it with the piano accompanying it is what made the song, i can't believe it this version just plain sucks pretty much without the slide solo, great tone on the piano and guitar, but the version of the song just ain't for me at all, i love the slide guitar solo from the original.

  • Your an idiot and rage against the machine audioslave w/e bands he was in combined never even came close to the popularity of clapton

  • SirMetaKnight6, he didn't ruined Crossroads, in fact he made it even better. CLAPTON IS GOD AND JUST ACCEPT THAT!!!

  • I´m agreed with you...is better than ever

  • jaldredi...have you even heard the original? i doubt it, made it my arse, and god of what?...pentatonics? Steve Vai is the 'god'

  • cobain is god

  • u r on drugs, they aren't even in the same genre catagory. Cobain was too f---ed up to sing like he should.that is why clapton is still alive and cobain isn't DUH

  • um well clapton was pretty "f--ed up" too although Clapton is far better and cobain is dead because Courtney fucking Love or CO-CO or watevr the fuck she calls herself now

  • BEST EVER!

  • try to find the dvd " party at the palace" watchclapton play there. knock your socks off man. to all the critics, shut up and enjoy the music.

  • does steve gadd play drums for eric clapton?

  • he did, but now i don't think so

  • He's just in his own zone; he doesn't hear a sound but the shock of his six strings

  • i love it when he play that intro riff and everyone screams

  • what effect is the black guy on the strat using? no offense or racism. just forgot his name.

  • clapton is probably one of the most underated performers and artists of all time. he has had so much influence.

  • i think he's probably been given too much credit

  • i dont know about you, but for me, Clapton is the greatest guitarist ever..not Hendrix

  • i tend to agree with you.

  • That..is..redicolous johann12, Clapton isnt even in league with Jimi's arse yet alone his playing !

  • I tend to side with Clapton being a bit better then Jimi. It's hard to say that one influenced the other, since they both were in their prime at the same time. We can't say how influential Jimi would be at this point today since he passed away so you, but Clapton has been so influential that he has to be #1 on the top guitarists list.

  • So your telling me Clapton has innovated the guitar more than Hendrix? sorry no, in what way is Clapton better than Hendrix?

  • For one, he's still alive. Yeah, it's a horrible thing to say, but there is no telling how Hendrix would be playing to day.

So, Clapton at 63 sells out any venue that can get their hands on him. Would Hendrix do that today? Probably, but we will never know.

Clapton took the style of Blues, and studied it from the Masters. He then mastered it himself, and might be solely responsible for the popularity of blues today. He

Hendrix is equal to SRV in by book.

  • i agree. back in the day, they were both awesome. but if hendrix was still alive he may or may not be as good. clapton even admitted that he's not as good as he once was. so who knows

  • i agree with this guy, he speaks the truth, hendrix had more crazy skills, but clapton did the same stuff just more kinda thought out and not so wild when performning

  • Absolutely. Some of the things that Hendrix pulled off on stage were beyond what a human should be able to do. I also feel that a lot of his playing was too fast and unorganized. It was his style, he played what he felt at the time, and it was very good.

That being said, Clapton has to be the most versatile guitarist ever. He's done everything from serious blues, to blues rock, to country rock, to rock and roll, to jazz, to complete unplugged albums (which sold best).

    He's a true master.

  • love the tone of that srat

  • the tone is definitely complemented by the player

  • agreed.

Even if you COULD achieve this 'sound' of EC, you WONT sound like EC himself.

Only Eric god himself can do this. And at this age is even more amazing.

  • yearh

  • Einfach super !!!!!!!!!

  • How can it be that six blokes can turn out such unswerving brilliance? Some performances have highs and lows, others maintain. This one just gets better and better.

  • Bravo!

  • this rocks!!!!

  • killer intro with slick distortion... :O:O

  • is this concert on dvd?

  • is the one more car one more rider one?

  • this isnt the version on the 2 disc one more car CD

  • no i meant the DVD not CD

  • it's from One More Car, One more Ride. It's really good.

  • Yes it's on dvd.

  • i love how the old drummer is crunk! lol

and clapton might not be a shredder, but the solos are 100% harmonic to what they are playing!!!
