I love her for that raw, sexy power she can scream into her music, and then this soft voice with an underlyingly sultry seduction in it... Imelda May is the fucking best. <3
Has anyone else noticed how the lyrics are strongly reminiscent of the plot in the Swedish horror movie "Let the right one in"? In an interview she makes it clear the inspiration for this song is in no way related to the movie... but try watching the movie then listening to this song!
this song is sultry, dark, steamy... the vamp is infectious; it stays in your mind long after the track stops playing... amazing... auditory seduction.
i've mainly been brought up with rockabilly and phychobilly and that so this was quite different i just started absolutely loving her at americana and i love this song i'd prob say i love every single song of hers but johhny got a boom boom and knock 123 are amazing prob my faves :) x
I was listening to this in Barnes and Noble today!! I really liked it. Her album is pretty good. And I like her voice and music...its old hollywood and sultry with a mix of jazz and blues.
@ooeeygooey This is not a rockabilly song. She is more than just a rockabilly singer. She does a few rockabilly songs but she is mainly jazz and swing
