It's a great song, and thanks for putting it up! A question for all the heads out there: the ending of the tune. This must a re-master, or some-such? Not the original recording?
@ Stonersid you may well be old n grumpy but you have ^ top comments mate , way hay ;-) When we got to experience and enjoy the best of hawkwind , we perfectly entitled to be old n grumpy , we experienced the best and its all but a memory .... a sweet 1 too !
pure classic hawks...wish I could go back to that Time, where did the years go and why is things even shittier for all our so called techno dreams? Oh wake me up...
Wiki bio on John Lydon, "Growing up as a teenager, he listened mostly to rock bands like Hawkwind, Captain Beefheart, Alice Cooper and Iggy and the Stooges — bands his mother also used to like. I was a fan of Hawkwind from 75 and at that time I had no idea that stuff like Hawkwind would lead to the explosion that was punk. Just knew that I liked it and funnily enough I liked punk too.
one of the best bits of music ever written performed or released. Man Hawkwind have a fewthings so missing from todays music., lets have a quick go at listing some.
No, sir. Sadly our generation is the unbecoming of music. Music now-a-days are considered to be like those of Lil Wayne and Drake and other useless speedy lyrics with a mundane beat over and over again. I have to rely on the hidden gems from the past like Jade Warrior, Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, etc. If it weren't for them and a very limted few modern bands I would have no love for music at all.
If someone is listening - this is the best album Hawkwind ever did - I was in college 1975- No one knew this?? This was incredible - and revolutionary - From someone who has 400 albums from the 60 - 70 I Know Wierd!
Probably twenty years since I have heard this and without doubt one of my favourite Hawkwind tracks on my favourite album of theirs.
This track still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Brings back memories of me and a couple of friends watching the the sun set on the Malvern Hills accompanied with an ancient tape recorder, warrior on the edge of time, some mushrooms and a few spliffs.
Ah they were the days.
Without doubt one of the greatest bands of alllll Tiiiiiiiiiime
dave brock was awesome!i sent him a picture i had done of angels of death album(i think) cover, when i was a kid and he sent me a postcard saying thanks!was well happy about that!!!!hawkwind are timeless.love this song.
love hw and have done for over 25 yrs.this is a very thoughtful track which has meaning and depth, heard it live a few times some years ago...peace and love.
maybe im old and grumpy, maybe im biased but, does anyone still make music like this?, please youngsters send me a link, or asi fear is all modern music just lacking that special something
@stonersid sorry my friend you are blowing in the wind . music peaked in 93. now we have mixes and re this and re that but of course its better that the original. but we have hawkwind.
@stonersid nope. 18 years old here, i listen to all late 60's, early 70's progressive rock and jazz fusion. I've tried the stuff of today, from mainstream pop to supposedly edgier and more creative underground music, desperately seeking a band that i could call my own, but there's just nothing good out there.
@stonersid Hiding in the shadows in the 90's were a few bands that might surprise you. There are the Legendary Pink Dots (who peaked between 1990-98), Psychic TV (from 1993-1997) and Coil from 1998 until their leader died in 2004. LPD is like early Genesis, but more varied and less bombastic. And the P.TV and Coil periods I mention are very psychedelic. If that's what you're looking for.
@DamienThornes Oh man, Tristram is one of my favorite songs. I don't like the band In Flames, but they have an incredibly beautiful instrumental called "Timeless". King Diamond's "Insanity" also has a similar feel as well. Check them out.
@sabbatking Power of the 12-strings guitars? :P Thanks for the recommendations, I don't like In Flames either, I remember buying an album of them because I heard the song Jester's Dance... :P
While tripping on magic mushrooms or acid like I did hundreds of times in my early 20's ?
I once saw a fire breathing dragon in a rug and when I closed my eyes I saw 4 star fruit one red, one green one blue and one yellow right next to my eyes glowing like they had lights fitted inside them.
Remember those kids saucepans with faces on them? well i was at stone henge festival tripping on a white lightning and i couldn't go out of my tent for three hours cos there was this huge talking saucepan out there and no one could see it but me, and it was saying things LOL.
I grew up listening to these guys and im 30 now. This album made me feel like i was on another planet, in another dimension when i was a kid; i still get that way with their music now. These guys inspired me to try to become the best musician i could be. Great post! thx, havent heard this song since i was 16
Brilliant , must be 20 yrs since i last heard this song - fantastic and spookyish album to trip to . In this world of emptiness its great to know hawkwind still offer a means of escape ,always did, always will (for me anyways )Thanks

No it isn't. In fact Liberty Cap (Psilocybe semilanceata) are UBER safe as there are no reported deaths at all.
The genus Amanita have the deadly variety like:
Destroying Angel and Death Cap which account for the majority of mushroom poisoning.
Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria) contains a very strong hallucinogen but unless it is abused rarely results in a dangerous situation.
