u know, almost every dog is afraid of clipping his/her nails. What should we do, leave their nails to grow, so rspca is going to get them out of us? .____:' You know, when dog is scared, you shouldn't hug him/her and stuff...
stop being cruel to that dog - I hope it bites your face off for doing that.
idiots like you should not be allowed to keep a dog - you only act like this as the dog will not fight back. you must have a life of being walked over and put down in order to get satisfaction from being cruel.
i remember my malamute too didnt want we touch too much his paw. i think it's an instinctive behaviour to protect the legs. mine was scared of the hoover :P
i have a chocolate lab who is 11 years and one who is 8 months the BOTH of them are terrified of getting their nails done, and neither have ever been hurt doing so they are just big babies < 3 haha
You dog is beautiful !! Im currently looking at adopting one now from a friend who is moving.
A common misperction is that all dogs must have their nails clipped. Although this is true in most small-medium sized dogs, it is not the case for large breeds such as the Alaskan Malamute. Large breeds, who has much thicker and tougher nails, require their nails to be trimmed down (e.g. small hand-held sandbelt). Clipping nails is much more dangers, and asserts immense pain even though an owner may not realize it.
you got it easy!!! lol i have a 7year old malamute and she lies on her back uptil the nail clippers get close then she punches me in the face and runs away... only to do it again!!! lol and again!!! until i finally sneek them all in!
@OpenSkie some dogs just dont like the sound of the clippers when they clip, my dog is the same way and hasnt been hurt before.... you should really know what youre talking about before you start calling people names...
@xFlyswatterx Actually, it is possible to hurt the dog without knowing it. Just because the nail doesn't bleed doesn't mean the dog isn't hurt. Clipping the nails incorrectly or with a dull blade puts pressure on the quick (the blood vessels and nerves in the nail) and can result in discomfort or pain for the dog.
pedipaws... our husky shilah doesn't mind it at all when we file her nails... we acclimated her to it gradually, letting her sniff it & holding it near her with it on...
i did one nail at first, then one paw, both front paws on 3 separate occasions before finally getting all four paws done... it did same some time and patience, but it was worth it at the end...
She could be my Echo's twin, Echo isn't scared of anything I do to her,but she also has a "deaf"button when I want her to do something that she doesn't want to do.
@soltoy00 actually as humans have if u cut too short it hurts them it's about 4 cm from the tip of the nail where u have to watchout bc there's a nerve and blood viegn there that seriously hurts them i would prefer filing his nails it's much simpler and it won't hurt the poor thing
I love how when dogs are scared or annoyed they will directly avoid all commands you give them! Your dog is beautiful though and has a great personality!
@Hauraunah my Echo( a Mal )was scared of my back stairs until she was over one year, our other dog ran up and down them but she went around the house to the low side(only 2 steps). All my mates thought it a riot that such a huge dog could be scared of stairs.
She's gorgeous.

Don´t cut his nails, it hurts him. It´s terrible that you´re laughing that way, as if it were funny that he´s scared.
