Wouldn't they be bigger if they were planaria? Or copepod, or ostrocod? Those are from 1 mm upwards. But the ones in your vid are maybe 0,1 mm at most. I have the same thing and am wondering what they are...
Hmm...these guys are pretty cool. Most likely eat up excess waste / algae, and could provide some good protein if you fish or shrimp could eat em. Are they planara? *Spelling* Planaria? whatever?
Finally I got rid of these same dam bugs. Ive been to some pet stores and spent almost 50 dollars on crap i didnt need and didnt kill bugs. What did it was aquarium salt its sold at most pet stores and wall mart.
dam i use to wal barefoot in swamps and creeks but now im worried a worm as entered my foot and started a small family in there i feel them moving under my flesh somebody help me :)
i had the same problem with my tank for a while, i got a stronger filter and most of them went away, i later found out that they were just trapped in the filter and could not escape, so they colonized in the filter
I still have them a year and a half later. I don't consider them a problem at all. They are in important part of this 92 gallon ecosystem. There are literally hundreds of thousands if not millions of them in there.
oh i just found them really annoying because they were every where and they took up more space then my fish, lol and then they would die and just fall to the bottom and sit there
The bugs kinda look like daphnia, water fleas, and it can be used as live fish food. But I'm guessing your problem has been dealt with, since this was posted 10 months ago. Also I may be wrong about the daphnia part. Your plant tank looks great none the less. What kind of substrate are you using?
Never seen those before but I do get planaria worms if I wait a long time between water changes. I can go a little over 3 weeks before my nitrates hit 10ppm. Not sure why the worms show up with nitrates that low..
Those are nifty little critters though. I think copepods sounds right..
hi i found these in my tank and was trying to find what they were i saw ur video and they were exaclly the same as mine, i did some research and found tht they are called copepods. aparently they are totally harmless and even make good fry food.
Wow, it would have taken a magnafying glass for me to see that. Any idea what it is? Do you use a ultra violet steralizer? I brought bugs in when I moved my koi in for the winter. The ultraviolet steralizer took care of the problem.
Ya I didn't know they were there until I put the camcorder up to the glass one day.
Yes I do use a UV sterilizer.....for years now. But the bugs are in the substrate not the water column so I can't imaging how the sterilizer would help.
I'm not sure but I'm guessing they are some sort of planaria.

@foxslider351w I've found that my tank is healthier with them than it is without.
