  • Honestly one of the funniest sketches these guys did. Hilarious.

  • 0:53 - 1:00 his feet are dancing =D

  • Comment removed

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO HILARIOUS!!!!!! XXXX

  • The effort of trying not to burst out in peals of laughter is making my jaw muscles ache ... mustn't alert the rest of the office :D

  • I wish the massive heaps of excrement besmirching every surface were the worst thing about travelling by rail in Britain.

  • hold 9 ;)

  • why dislike this??

  • LOL! :-)

  • This is alot better than Flanders & Swann

  • rofl!

    c'mon guys make another verse!

  • lmaooooo!!!

  • Fecal mountain lol!

  • This is a brilliant parody of Flanders & Swann. I'm not shure they would have approved though!

  • this is definatly my favourite one !!! =P

  • 8 people have taken a shit on the train...

  • 7 people had to take a shit on a train.

  • This is what happens when you leave Primeval for a while.

Ben Miller is amazing in this show

  • Shame he can't actually play the piano, unlike Flanders and Swann.

  • @erringman Arsmtrong can, so he probably does in the original recording, but as far as I know Miller only plays the guitar... But he looks much more alike the guy in the piano, so they had to do it like that.

  • i work at eurotunnel & this song could have been written for anyone who has ever travelled on one of our trains!!!

  • @iamqueenkk thats the point.

  • @iamqueenkk I only found out about flanders and swan through these guys.

  • i laugh hardest at how hes supposed to be in a wheelchair but he dances in the chair!

  • everytime i see this , it kills me with laughter !!!

  • LMAO!!!!

  • I've just noticed. Brabbins is a paraplegic..... why are his legs moving in rhythm??

Still legendary song. Please let that come on at Kings' Cross or Liverpool Street just once... Please...

  • @SnowFrawz Think Armstrong forgets sometimes...

  • i think this is the funniest song they have done

  • The amount of times I've sung this on a train and been given the strangest looks ...... it only encourages you to sing louder!

  • The Armstrong & Miller show, What a Legend!

  • 6 people tried to shit on a train

  • i just cant watch that game show thats on called 'pointless' with alexander. without laughing cos every time i see him i think about this song LOL

  • Went to A and M show at Milton Keynes last night and left at the interval. They're a one trick pony, the posh pottymouth schtick. Clever use of obscenity can be hilariously funny but this is just lame vulgarity. Btw I'd be interested to know who is flagging any criticism of this gruesome twosome as spam.

  • why not our new national anthem?

  • @AntiGravDisclosure Definitely. Imagine it at football matches.

  • @ujustgotpwned2008

    hahaha that would be great.

  • LOL!!!!!!!!

  • Haha I've been kept up ti 05:27 am on this stuff :)

  • love this video and love the rest

  • I pity the 6 people who clicked dislike

  • Who is the bloke who shits and runs on the Msnchester train from Bournemouth

  • this is absolutely fucking hilarious thanks for posting

  • Have you ever had to take a shit on a train?

  • LOL "at first there is the horror of what you might find in the pan, a foul disgusting mess some other bugger's dumped then ran"

  • As one who grew up surrounded by the musings of Michael and Donald, I must state that my initial reaction to these gentlemen was one of horror. With reflection, I have concluded that I am confusing the absolute with the relative, and am somewhat guilty of hypocrisy. Part of my love of F&S was their irreverence for institutions, and I believe that, to an audience of that time, the suggestiveness of Madeira was as shocking as the four-letter word atmosphere here were to me.

  • National anthem material there I think!

  • @cassybaby234 That's ingenious! How fantastic if these guys opened up the London Olympics?! Cassybaby234, that is absolutely the best suggestion I've ever heard for the english anthem!

  • I never tire of watching this ;0)

C'mon Beeb; make a new series of these two very talented guys...

  • Very funny and good social comment!

  • These guy are better than the raf sketches!!

  • I think that it is clear that the two of them actually have a great deal of time for Flanders and Swan, it is too accurate and funny to be seen as cutting parody, it is more of an affectionate pastiche of the originals.

  • ooo, get you...

  • @jacktindale I think a large part of the joke is the very idea of Flanders and Swann coming out with such stuff.

  • Salierethefish, there's a simple remedy here - if you don't like it, don't watch it! Personally I think they're hilarious and apparently so do a lot of others, so kindly shut, and would you mind awfully f@cking off?

  • Does anyone have the one where they sing about how he got crippled?

  • That was last night I think it's on iPlayer.

  • Dear god someone put that up!

  • It's on here as 'Armstrong and Miller Funny Song'

  • LMAO. "And you know the matrony Aunt, who stands next in the queue, will think the fecal mountain is entirely down to you" nearly killed me!

  • I am a great fan of F & S and loved this. More power to them -- off to search for all other Youtubes of them!

  • Brilliant

  • @dfarmbrough - I think the reason why Swann with Topping gave such a good impression of Donald Swann is that it actually WAS Donald Swann. He teamed up briefly with Frank Topping after Michael Flanders died. They even released an album together!

  • lol, decorum must prevail!!!

  • crack!

    hahah

  • This is probably a long shot but does anyone know if you can get the piano notes for this

  • find the chords behind it and just arpeggio.... it sounds like a basic tune.

  • lol the guy in the weelchair is tapping his foot xD

  • This is Armstrong & Miller impersonating Flanders and Swann. Armstrong & Miller are both healthy and can walk. Michael Flanders contracted polio in 1943 and lost the use of his leggs.

  • lol i realise that i was simply pointing out a character flaw

  • Is that actually Ben Miller playing the piano? If so, he's very good...

  • doesn't look like it. Too bad...

  • nah, in one of the outakes he completely messed up the sync

  • That's the best Donald Swann impression I have seen since Swann With Topping appeared on Nationwide in 1980!

  • is he tryin to be arthur askey ????

  • that's exactly what I though he looked like!

  • If you take a look at any "Flanders & Swann" clip (which this is a clever parody of) you'll find that the "guy in the wheelchair" does have a beard. IDIOT!!

  • Then why don't you know that "the guy in the wheelchair" has a beard?

  • and for your infomation "Cragrepent" his name is Michael Flanders.

  • omg lool i was there wen this was shot .. funni as hell!!!

  • You are incorrect about everything but your final sentence. This is as much homage as parody. They do an amazing job of capturing the lyrical deftness of Flanders & Swann -- the vulgarity would not be hilarious if they weren't spot on to F&S. But they are, and so it is.

  • Easily, easily the best bit of their clip show.

  • I think it's "the matronly aunt" who's standing next in the queue...it took several replays to work that out though :p

  • "And then you know (the what?) who stands next in the queue"?

  • it's brilliant, but a bit weird to see a guy in a wheelchair moving his legs to the musical tune...

  • Michael Flanders' legs weren't paralysed, just weak

  • 0:51 and on

  • i was snging this while sttng on a train got the wierdest looks ever! he he more bbc more!

  • @JomeTheRagingGnome This Song Should Be the Anthem of "First Capital Connect"

    (It Fit's Perfectly [ Laugh])

This Is a Brilliant Example of Our Country's Dominance of Satire & it Takes "Base & Crude Comedian Rubbish" & Completely Supasses It.

  • I don't know who many times I've watched with, but it gets funnier every time.

  • wen i first saw this i was laughin 4 bout 3 days afta.i will always find this funny no matter how many time is watch it

  • have you ever had to take a shit on a train?

  • fortunately not

  • It really is quite a frightful strain apparently! XD

  • No, and I don't plan to!

  • well not now you don't hey! XD

  • the next 2 ronnies!

lol some motherf***** whos dumped and ran! xD

  • "...some other bugger..." actually.

    Still funny though :P

  • No, it's right. "of other buggers", which means that there were already a few people there without flushing. :P

  • There is no turning back cos the bloddy thing has forced it's way almost out your crack!!! quality XD

  • Just amazing, just sooooo funny!

  • Excellent. do u know if Ben Miller really is playing the piano or not?

  • I'd say both homage to and parody of Flanders and Swann. F&S were heavier on innuendo and wit, and the vulgarities are clearly meant to spoof their mildness. Yet there's still innuendo and wit in these, and some pretty good rhymes and wordplay. Also I note that Swann didn't sing that often, whereas in almost all of these, both men sing. Much funnier if you know about Flanders and Swann and have at least heard a few recordings.

  • Swann did sing quite often - rarely on his own, I agree - but in many of the recordings there'll be times where he will sing along with Flanders. I could never ever do that - I need to concentrate on the playing!

  • Aw FUCK!!!! That was excellent!!!

  • this is so fucking funny. i wish these guys would do a sitcom, unless u guys out there know of one??

  • They've both been in sitcoms, albeit separately. Alexander Armstrong had starring roles in TLC and Beast; while Ben Miller's been in The Worst Week of My Life.

  • Cheeeeaz mate

  • not sure if it's a parody or an homage

  • It could very easily be both.

  • I love these guys. very funny

  • i luv tht 1. its well funny

  • I'm so pleased to see Flanders & Swann are remembered enough to be parodied -- it's really quite a compliment and extremely well done!

  • I find it sad that so few of my peers have heard of them because they are a class act and always make me smile even just thinking of them!

  • sooooo funny!!!!!!!!

have u eva had to take a shit on a train!!!

  • Very good....it's what Flanders and Swann would be doing if they had been born 40 years later. Nice to see they're not forgotten.

  • The date rape one is the best

  • Type in' Flanders and Swann 'on Youtube and see what an accurate spoof it is !!!

  • So true, I hate it when I go take a piss on the plane, and the person before me leaves a mountain of shit that wont flush. I always think the next person will blame me.

  • if you think that was bad once i went into a toilet and sum dirty cunt shat on the seat.

  • Brilliant !!

  • I love the actual moment when they say "have you ever had to take a shit on a train?"

  • What is the line ..something "down below", before the line 'that builds and creates pressure"

  • "A force", I think

  • "A furnace down below, that builds and creates pressure..."

  • BRILLIANT

  • i laughed so hard I had a shit

  • Every time on on the train i think of this all the fecking way!

  • Brilliant! However knowing the BBC they will probably replace it for some rubbish 'Catherine Tate' style comedy.

  • UK comedy > american comedy

  • LMAO <3 it!

  • THAT WAS SO FUNNY!!!!

  • Superb. Had me rolling around with laughter when I first saw this live.

  • The best sketch show since the Fast Show. Wonderful stuff.

  • AMAZING

  • everytime i watch it, always makes me laugh, excellent

  • i laughed sooooo hard when i saw this!!!

  • Excellent parody - brilliantly written! It is just Swann's style. I can see them singing this in heaven!

  • This is the funniest thing ive seen in ages thank you so much for uploading

  • i couldnt stop laughing when i first saw it

  • I laughed so much the turtle poked out his head!

  • I hurt myself laughing while I was watching this, classic.

  • Love it, perfect end to the episode!

  • i couldnt agree more. what a song!!!! thank you dunebasher1971 for uploading it!!!

  • HAHAHAHA! never gets old!

  • Hurt myself laughing at this when I watched it first time... Brilliant.

  • Classic!!!

  • Absolutely brilliant, echoes of The Two Ronnies which is high praise indeed.
