  • this is a good tutorial, it took a sec to learn the last F2L but after i got it it was really simple great job

  • can you help me? 4a and 4b are the hardest for me the rest i can do but it's not on here. D: you didn't explain you just did it

  • @mrawesomemilk Send me a PM with what you specifically need help with, I'll reply as soon as I get on a real computer instead of my ipod haha

  • @fallofshadows

everything! i know everything except step 4...it's so freaking confusing i don't even know what happened. D:

  • I have a lot of troubles getting the corners and corresponding edge pieces to align correctly... and I have a really big headache, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong... any help?

  • I usually set an edge in the middle layer while I'm turning a corner so it will connect. If that isn't possible, then you will realize that there are a lot of simple moves that will connect blocks. Do R U' R' to a solved cube and you'll see that the corner and edge are seperate, but a simple R turn will connect them. Look for cases like that, and you'll figure it out.

  • ohh i get it this method is like doing the second layer at the same time as the first

    thank you 5 stars

  • Good idea to use regular OLL/PLL after Petrus F2L. I see how the corner/edge orientation/permutation would really slow you down.

  • Almost nobody uses that either. The misconception that Petrus is only used with the basic LL annoys me. Petrus himself said that it was only a beginner last layer that he showed on the site. If anything, COLL/EP should be considered the "Petrus Last Layer."

  • F2L....................

  • First two layers.............

  • what does F2L Stands For?

    Sorry If It's A Noob Q..

  • First two layers =)

  • I really got confused when i saw all that stuff like PLL or OLL anf F2L on videos i was like WTF!? lol but thanks now =P

  • no 1ns a noob! yes it stands for first two layers :)

  • I'm a noob!

  • this is similar to the fridrich method

  • Except you use block building and intuition instead of algorithms.

  • I do fridrich intuitively.

  • So do I, but it's still nothing compared to learning Petrus 0.0

  • Almost everytime i finish the first 2 layers. I dont end up with a cross on top and i have to do the alg to get the cross? Am i doing this right? Because on the videos i have seen as soon as the f2l is done, a cross is already made on the third layer.

  • You aren't fixing the bad edges correctly then.

  • whats the alg's you used to solve the last part of it? i know a way to do it, but ur way seems much faster, unless ur doing what i know 20fold lol

  • You use all intuition, there are no algs for the Petrus F2L. If you are learning algs for the F2L, you are being stupid.

If you really want to learn algs that badly, go learn Fridrich.

  • i was just wondering how u solved the last part like that...

  • You just build blocks using only the R and U slices. It's all intuitive, so I can't really help you much more than that.

  • do the white cubes move easier? i like cubes that move easy? any suggestions of how to get it to move fast?

  • Buy a DIY of any color from ebay. Make sure it is a "type A" DIY.

  • thanx so much dude!

  • Okay im just making sure...

does a cube with an "(a)" after it mean it is type a?

  • Yeppers

  • nice work!!!!!!

  • i DO not get this at all

    1. your cube confuses the crap outa me because.i dont know

    2. this is weird method

    3. good bye

  • 1. It's white.

    2. It's just different, and requires thought.

    3. Auf wiedersehen.

  • Dang man. I really like your videos. Ive learned alot about Petrus. Which, I have no intention on learning Petrus to solve, but, its still fun to know how to do it. Thanks alot. Check your messages.

  • thank you

  • if fully mastered what timescan u achieve? and also if u no 57 oll algo is twisting bad edges still necessay?

  • Nobody has fully mastered Petrus, and there are some sub 10 times out there...

If you know all 57 OLLs, then you have gone so far into Fridrich that it is pointless to learn Petrus. And if you intend on learning Petrus anyways, then yes, you need to learn to flip edges. You can't finish the F2L with only R and U if you have bad edges.

  • where did you get your white cube?

  • Ebay.

  • so its 2x2x2 then 2x2x3 then wat im i missing?

  • Then you fix bad edges, then you finish the first two layers, then you do the last layer.

  • also what if I only have one edge that is incorrectly oriented and it just flipped? how to i do that?

  • the steps that you skipped were 4a and 4b or something like that right? well i have a question. what are those steps really? Is 4a and 4b just inserting corners without messing up your correctly oriented edge pieces? And the way you skipped the step. It kinda looked like something you would do in the fridrich method. But I'm just wondering, did you getting lucky when you were able to pair those two up together? because I rarely get that case.

  • 4a and 4b are about putting the slots into place. Vist lar5 dot com slash cube to learn what I'm talking about. I didn't skip those steps, I just did them in a different order because it would be easier to start with 4b instead of 4a.

  • Where can I learn a lot of the permutations and orientations that I need to know? Because after fixing the bad edges, this method kicks my ass.

  • Just search the internet, Dan's cube station has all the PLLs and OLLs, although the only OLLs you need are the ones that fix corners.

That, and Ryan Heise's cube database is freaking sweet, I learned an OLL from that.

  • what was that OLL alg you used?

  • that was a cool A perm. i do the same one but yours looked cool

  • Lol, thanks. I like my A perms, they are fun.

  • ok ill give it a shot :)

  • ok so with petrus there would be only 6 olls to learn (which i already know)? cause if thats true im definetly going to learn petrus

  • technically, there are 7 OLLs that you should know :)

You should give Petrus a shot, it's definitely a lot of fun.

  • well i was working with it last night and thought maybe i could get the 2x2x3 block using fridrich then fix bad edges and then i would already know the oll and pll

  • that completely kills the purpose of Petrus though. The block building is to make it faster, unlike that Fridrich Style insertion that you are doing. Give block building a shot, it took me around 2 months but I'm almost back to my Fridrich times, using Petrus.

  • that was helpful thanks

  • No, I don't always do it like that. It depends on what I see. In this case my edge was just in place, and I had a very simple pair to work with. I pretty much always make a small block to work with.

  • Are you Always putting in you last white Edge first? usually if you make your first pair you can save some moves, Especially if you plan it out to have your pair and last white edge not touching after you pair up. Just Try to pair up so that it leaves you with an Easy Case.
