Yeah! Great video, great music too. Nice Land Rovers. And yes this is the real deal! No room for boingys, leafers are the best! Drives a SeriesIIA 1965 SWB my self, wouldn't trade it for the world! Merry Christmas to you all. :)
@byronli12345 Yea they made a 12 and a 24 volt version. All same basic engine and running gear, the 24 volt version had a huge alternator. One peculiarity of military Landrover engines is that they were fitted with the diesel crankshaft, a drop forged item, not cast like the petrol engine.Makes seeking out a military engine worthwhile if you are looking for a replacement.
Brilliant video. Nice to see a lightweight (aka airportable) with it's siblings out greenlaning. without the modern stuff being all pretentious around it. Great honest vehicles.
no the lightweight has the same chassis as a std series 2a and 3 the differance is that its made to be lighter to be dropped and transported by helicopters hence the name! The only differance is the bonnet, arches, front bumper has bumperettes and all lightweights were made for military use so u will find strange small holes in them from old radio equipment.
great vid
