I dance for an comhdháil and am happy here but its when you see strong dancers like this you wish you could try your hand at the worlds. i think the heavy round in this case was better than the light round in the other video. strong dancing and excellent music too! wish i was up there.
The people who got to see this competition are so fortunate. I see over 6 World Medal Holders and at least 5 US National Titles won from dancers that came from overseas. AWESOME
Mind you that Ciara Sexton also has simple steps... You can do busy steps well otherwise you can do the less busy but still fancy steps brilliantly! I admire her straight legs.

@1994IrishDancer ciaras steps are in no way simple. the move with the cut while lifting in the back is not simple. and her hard shoe isnt either. i had harder steps than k. vincent when i was in pw
@lockedinsideurhsbox may i just remind everyone that how complex or fancy the steps are makes no difference in dancing ability. A dancer could have brilliant world championship level steps + perform them badly, just as a dancer with simple material can dance up to the next level + make it look like world quality steps. Not to say anyone could get to Worlds doing prizewinner steps but if you have the technique + the ability, you can make anything look just as good as more complex material.
@irishdancer169 okay i was trying not to say this on the internet but u all leave me no choice lol shes not even doing them well and certainly doesnt look like top 10 at worlds. her knees are bent all the time but especially in clicks. and her posture is off half the time
@lockedinsideurhsbox before i respond can i ask how often you make top ten at worlds? it takes a lot of time, effort, blood/sweat/tears 2 get there and even more to maintain. plus, not everyone is "on" every day. everyone has bad days. so before we start riduculing + saying "oh, she's not good, how does she place so well?" let's just keep that in mind. as for your comment "i was trying not to say this on the internet but..." Then don't say it! not necessary... not trying to flame, just saying...
@irishdancer169 if ud bothered 2 think b4 responding u wouldve realized i never said shes not good i said she doesnt look like top 10 at worlds which is true. i said i didnt want to say it but u were saying its ok to do simple steps as long as theyre done well. prblm is that they werent. how either of us dances is irrelevant since we could lie so its a moot point. i never asked how she placed so well. a lot of dancers win off of rep n evry1 on here has seen top 10 dancers n know wut 2 expect
@lockedinsideurhsbox wow, i was definitely not trying to turn this into some huge debate. just wanted to make the point that you don't have to have gorgeous steps to place well. no need to jump down people's throats for expressing their opinions, really. it's just rude. if you have something to say, please say it at least cordially. no one appreciates being pretty much assaulted every time they make a comment. thanks!
@irishdancer169 wrong yet again! i commented on this b4 u did and u were the one who replied to me when i expressed MY opinion which is a valid one. u were the one saying "dont say it" and quoting things i never said like " oh shes so good how does she place so well" i never said that or anything to that effect. talk about rude.
@lockedinsideurhsbox im sorry for any confusion. when i stated that its rude to jump down people's throats for expressing opinions, i was referring 2 my original response 2 ur original comment. I'm honestly not trying to start anything here, I just wanted to make a point. Let's please not turn this into a "he said, she said" debate. yes, you commented b4 i did but you'll notice when i replied, i took great care not to be inflammatory. not trying to start anything, let's please leave it @ that!
@Toepherit67 worlds is more prestigious so that was kind of pointless...and proves nothing since once u win worlds ur pretty much guaranteed top 5 evrywhere not to say that most dont deserve it
@lockedinsideurhsbox My comments are never pointless and neither are yours. People are misunderstood....but let me explain my comment to you. I was trying to give a range of where the dancing level was. 76.3% of our US National titles and placers are also World Medal Holders or top 15 placers in large competitions. Not including the ones that are unable to travel across to Ireland, Scotland and the UK. LOL I can think of many winners who lost their title didn't get top 5 again check past results
@Toepherit67 its redundant to say they did well at ai after talking bout doing well at worlds multiple times. like i said the judges know who these dancers r after theyve been top 5 at majors and r more likely to b in the top 5 again bcuz of it. its the unhappy truth.idk wut ur talking about in that last bit so i cant exactly argue with it. but its been a year since i wrote that comment and ur bringing in statistics and results and generally trying way too hard when i really dont give a shit.
3:25. those toe movements are brilliant! I wish my teacher would put that in my step...
