"I think I'm going to kill myself" crossed with "Big Dipper" and "Candy by the pound" makes a strange mix of typical yet unexpected genious. I mean, To blend this extremely state-of-the-art studio sound with ragtime sparks from true free spirits. It's nice that it's unknown, that makes it even more peculiar, sort of van Goghish. Elton is the forever background superstar.
Amazing song and lyrics. It really matches the whole point of the book very well. It may also be the only upbeat type of song for such a sad and depressing reality of humanity. There is evil lurking in all of the hearts of humans and when ruled by fear they will revert to savagery to make themselves confident of their strength again. Amazing book and song. Love it. ^_^
not available on any albums, only as a B-side to the 12-inch UK single Slow Rivers (duet with C Richards), however it is quite scarce, can't find any copies on the net at the time of writing this.
I think they may have done that because it has a more 'band' sound, compared to the rest of leather jackets which is mainly machines and synths maybe? :s
if u get a chance put that one up here aswell, i used to have it on the updated captain fantastic cd but it broke lol it think it just sums up alot of eltons B-sides sometimes equally as gd as the singles.
i really rather like this

This is surprising good considering the shit album 'Leather Jackets' was from the same year.
