  • His reincarnation synopsis is in error but I like his video

  • I tried to argue my idea that time doesn't really exist, was a delusion & the perception of time was only the minds way categorizing events in someones life & even though I had something like 40 or 50 thumbs up I was attacked for my opinions...

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way

  • Personally I think the whole Quantum consciousness debate and it's evolutionary attributes could be explained using fractals combined with the Golden ratio Phi. I wonder if anyone has tried such an approach? hmmm............. just a thought!

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe after you give this Stuart Hameroff goes through a wide array of quantum mind concepts.. I hope you enjoy

  • Thankyou.

here's the real answer. Your Father is a fish, your uncle a tonka toy. stars are bright. the sun is hot. winter is cold. Spring is sort of warmer. i know, my intelligence astounds even me.

  • Time. . .to click on another video.

  • As I watch the video, I realize that I hear his voice before his lips even move in syncopation with the sound. So I ask myself, "Am I hearing the future? Or am I observing something that has already happened?" THEN I realize that the video just has terrible sound quality. :( sorry

  • @jfoley715 LOL

  • @jfoley715 Aside from the joke, the first part doesn't make sense (for many reasons) but the most obvious is that you are not hearing the future because you are watching a dated video.

  • @Singetally Congratulations! You don't win anything! :D

  • @jfoley715 I won plenty.

  • Did he at any point during this interview realise he was sat in a box floating through the universe?

  • Bad science. Bad, bad, bad science.

  • Good video, he always has some mind bending views.

  • Why does my consciousness let me see the world through my body, and not the body of say a black hole?

  • He is saying that consciousness is a particular dance of subatomic particles. A nonspiritual theory of consciousness I guess.

  • how big is the universe?

  • All this talk of separation (of 'things') is a red herring. There is only what IS or IS NOT. Therefore there is only one THING, so I must be it. I am everything there is. When Hammeroff spoke of the universe as having a conscious moment he was almost right. But he speaks of it in the past. There is only the eternal now. This means that the moment of universal consciousness can happen now. And as you are the universe it is up to you to have this moment. I had my moment and it stayed. Eternally.

  • The "particles" were never seperate. What it suggests to me is that the only illusion is the notion that there is seperate "things". i.e. everything in the universe is arising from a field of one that ties everything together. A construct more fundamental than space/time. It appears this construct contains all necessary information to guide the universe into what we "see" as "things". Including us and every other living being in the universe. So how is this possible? cont...

  • @Kostly How does this field contain all of that information? Think of the vastness of the Universe. Spreading out in every direction behaving in untold amounts of ways. Always changing. Humans and myriad other beings, flora and fauna in seemingly billions of ways. There is nothing that could explain it better than a supreme consciousness which contains infinite possiblities, realizing a finite number of "things". It appears that consciousness is a very powerful energy. :)

  • @Kostly Consciousness is nothing but merely neurons in the brain. If part of your brain is shot your personality changes. It is nothing mystical. But yes, the world we see around us IS an illusion if you can put it as that our eyes only navigate the world around us through detecting light (a form of electromagnetic wave) scattered by matter (e.g. photons scattered by a chair and reach our eyes). It is possible to have eyes that depend on other forms of electromagnetic waves.

  • @HORRORTV1 Yeah, well, that's, like, your opinion, man.

  • @Kostly Opinions and facts. There's a difference.

  • All there is is now. Now ask yourself - Who am I?

  • Love what your saying and how you say it. Bravo!

  • No no no no no. This man doesn't even know the definition of time. How can he think that we create time. Note that this man is nothing close to a physicist so WHY IS THERE A QUANTUM IN THE TITLE. Anyone who likes this video is spitting on Feynmann's grave.

  • Quantum jumping? I think there must be some confusion here, or a practical joke? Particles can move in ways that might seem odd, but that is an observation of nature. Quantum Leap was a science fiction light comedy staring that guy who became captain of a Star Trec spin-off that I did not really like. Acting and witchcraft are two different things, although both are make believe, and maybe that is an issue with your elecronic translator. Earth to space man,do you read me?

  • "quantom jumping it is witchcraft. " - what?

  • @upgrade01a Im a servant of God and it has been revealed to that what people do during quantum jumping is witchcraft. Anyone who does this and dies will face the wrath of God. Repent and turn to Christ because God loves justice on the wicked. Time is short.

  • Interesting alternative theory. I just saw a relatively new Penrose book in the bookstore today on this topic. This must be related to Penrose's Twister theory?

  • One question I wonder if it's been asked: If we find the answer to this, what then? All of science is discovery. Invention is learning how to harness what is already there. We never invented electricity, for instance. We've managed to harness it for our use. If we discover consciousness, all we're going to do is find out how to put it into our own control. (That seems like a weird feedback loop.) That sounds scary, still.

  • This idiot mixes up several theories to promote his own views. You can tell straight away by how he has set up the interviewer and of course the computer generated background. Ideal fodder for Sky's channel 200.

  • I'm seeing a trend in this comment forum...in which "quantum" effects=consciousness/magic. In truth, we do not create reality. Our ancestors evolved (on the time scale of millions of years) in environments that did not require knowledge of quantum mechanics...thus explaining the very recent rise of science.

Ancient peoples, contrary to what a lot of you guys seem to think, did not know much about the universe as much as we do now. Stop idealising the past, and learn physics!

  • On a different note: words like "consciousness" and "energy" have been thrown around without the apparent need to define these words. Everyone's talking past each other over these words...and taking it too personally, I think.

We can't impose our wishes onto reality, see. Ego-centric, much?

  • Everything is energy. Therefore everything is because of energy. We FEEL energy all the time, even if we are ignorant to the this fact, it still remains a constant truth. The mind is but a receiver of energy, it does not have an original thought. The mind interprets the quality of energy being received then reacts or responds. It is important we become aware of the energy that we align to. This requires the ability to feel, not the act of thinking.

  • THIS IS THE BEST EXPANATION ABOUT CONSCIOUSNESS I HAVE EVER HAD EXPLAINED. IT IS PROBABLY THE ONLY BELIEVABLE EXPANATION I HAVE EVER HEARD.A TRULY WONERFUL INTERVIEW.

  • 3:15 to 3:40 was the best explanation of what we percieve as time and why that ive ever heard

  • this is deep

  • Kinda freaky that the universe at one point was aware of its own existence

  • @madridisinSpain Kind of freaky that you are this gullible.

  • @madridisinSpain well we (the byproduct of the universe) are also aware of the universe and ourselves and consciousness!

  • my limited capacity is all i hav......ALL

in response 2 avedic - i fink of not finkin

  • I definitely love Copenhagen's view on quantum...

  • @guitfan33 This is not the Copenhagen interpretation. This is a bastardization.

  • @DavidAlanRogers thank you sir, i know what copenhagen's interpretation is and i realize that this is a bastardization... i was simply stating that i love copenhagen's interpretation... i have taken modern and quantum so i am fully educated (or atleast undergraduate educated) about his interpretation.

  • @guitfan33

What do you mean HIS interpretation?

  • where is part 2?

  • i can hear him before he talks

  • @grabow24 This is very simple to explain. The video (or visual) signal and the sound (pressure waves) were at one point, coherent. But later on, after a threshold number of Max Planck quantum time intevals they collapsed into unconsciuos particles. One going travelling to your eras via longer pathway to your retina, the other by a shorter path to your ears. Thus you hear him before his lips move. You see? It is an elementary and classical case of mental confusionism. Ask any Chinese person.

  • 5:00 wtf?!!!

    ??????

  • @dav03081989 . Sorry. But I can not understand what you are (presumably) saying. Dus dat ding a dell?

  • @dav03081989 when i read comments like this i sincerely wonder how some people have the mental capacity to dress themselves in the morning, let alone...think.

  • i'm not sure i like the duality of terming it classical world and quantum world, i don't kn ow if it's a figure of speech or he is saying like the quantum and classical world are different. Really all we know is matter behaves one way at the subatomic level, but by nature of avarages ends up behaving one way on the physical level we see.

I think to be honest he is making a guess over what creates conciousness

  • i love any faggot who want to make money just says "QUANTUM" and everything thinks its science

quantum mechanics has nothing to do with conciousness or god ...its just physics u retards....wake up.

  • @sidewaysfcs0718 I agree with you sidewaysfcs, except you have misused the word faggot. People who want to make money, wether by using a word, eg: Quantum or the word Faggot (like you perhaps?) are not by definitions Faggots. After all, everyone know that a FAGGOT is an archaic English unit applied to various-sized collections of sticks. And if you refuse to learn this, I will mind-meld you outof existence. Just see if don't. Unless you do it to me first, you faggoty collection of STICKS.

  • @sidewaysfcs0718 i love how people who use words like faggot and retard immediately paint themselves in a corner with everyone else laughing at how ignorant, bigoted, and uncreative they are. i bet you like music like drowning pool and papa roach, am i right? people like you are generally attracted to small minded music.

  • Cheer's...faggot

  • multipe nows means that we can divide them into few nows.

  • This guy really doesn't understand the Time energy uncertainty principle which he tries to explain

  • uhhu sciences. This guy is an anesthesiologist, not a physicist. Most of what he says is "quantum nonsense".

  • This stuff is witchcraft. God is going to destroy this place because of the evil. I can't wait. People have to seek the Lord. This place will be destroyed starting with babylon the great which will be wiped off the face of the earth. Then the rest of the places on earth will be destroyed and the saints will get power over the nations. This is the word of the Lord stated in the bible.

  • @boywhoy88 "God is going to destroy this place because of the evil. I can't wait."

Yeah you cant wait until your god smites all that don't think like you, hallelujah praise ignorance and hatred!

    "This stuff is witchcraft"

Christians dub everything that they don't understand as evil and demonic. How convenient!

  • @DemonHermit For one im not a "christian". I am a servant of the Lord, Christ. You have no understanding of God and the scriptures so I see where you are headed. God doesn't play unlike the message in christian churches that says God loves everyone. God is no joke. Anyway, Anything of that magnitude which is not giving glory and honor to God is witchcraft, simple as that. God wants all the glory and honor and God deserves all the glory and honor. Simple as that. I hope you got a clear understand

  • @boywhoy88 Witchcraft? This is physics. Besides if it was wouldn't that only go to supporting a theistic worldview? In which case it would be good for this knowledge to be out there. It would undermine the atheists entire program.

  • @JohananRaatz Based on everything people do with quantom jumping it is witchcraft. This is an abomination to God. God hates sin. All must repent and turn to God or face total destruction. God is holy. Christ died so we would not have to burn forever for those who trust in him. Christ is waiting for you and he loves you. Turn to him.

  • @boywhoy88 First of all, Hameroff isn't talking about quantum jumping. He's talking about the Orch-OR model. Secondly if quantum jumping were real, would it be science or witchcraft?

    "All must repent..."

Wouldn't you like to be able to argue this to atheists?

  • @JohananRaatz I would love to state my case to athiests. All who don't believe because of their pride will face the judgement of God and burn forever. God does not play with sinners when they die.

  • @boywhoy88 you are really stupid. Take your shit elsewhere. The inquisition was killing scientists the reason being witchcraft. Without science you would not be sitting in front of your computer writing your shit. By the way : in some believers vision the computer is the devil's deed so stop using it or you will not escape the loving god's wrath (wtf). For every science video on YouTube there must me at least one idiot like you talking bullshit. Thumbs up if you think i'm right.

  • @ioanat4 Without God the computers would not be made. God had a plan with computers. That plan was to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth. Most people use the internet for evil but the gospel will keep coming. The inquisition was not of God. If they were of God they would not have killed. They were of the devil. Science is nothing to God. God can use anyone to do his will. Nothing can stop the will of GOd. God is too complex for any human. The computer is not the devil's deed.

  • @boywhoy88 the Inquisition was killing in the name of your god. They were following the same god you follow. Get it right!!! Go read some books. I bet you did not even read the bible.

  • @ioanat4 Well, I wasn't going to respond to the first comment but the second comment you made is worth responding to. The inquisition was all a bunch of people that thought they knew God but they did not know God because God is love. The only reason God commanding killing in the old testament is because of the wickedness of people. The wickedness of people reached to heaven so that is why God commanded killing because God hates wickedness. Instead of the devil killing them God commanded that man

  • @ioanat4 do the killing of any wicked person. God is pure love. The reason why God had all those rules is so man won't sin. The whole sacrificing animals thing was made to be complex so man won't sin. God was not ordering crimes also. God was getting rid of wicked people in his eyes. God was not bothered by slavery because someone has to build up stuff and all that, God however did not want the slaves to be treated harshly or inhumane. When Christ died for our sins most of the stuff of the old..

  • @ioanat4 testament was done away with because of the new covenant. Christ is the new covenant. God is a complex person, he does things that man does not understand but his ways are the best ways. The new covenant with Christ is all about loving God and loving your neighbor. Do unto others what you want done to you. So are you ready for Christ's new covenant of love or are you going to remember all the old testament stuff that isn't done anymore?

  • @boywhoy88 "So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds. (From the NIV Bible, Revelation 2:22-23)" . New testament stuff man. Innocent children being killed. I'm going to end this discussion here. Please do not bother to answer.

  • Comment removed

  • @ioanat4 "Her children" in this context isn't literal children. It's the followers of the teaching of Jezebel.

  • @mjt1517 still it's not normal.

  • @ioanat4 What is normal?

  • @mjt1517 look. I have decided to not get into any other debate on this subject anymore. At the end of the day you belive what you want and as long as this brings peace to your then it's ok. Now to answer your question : i do belive there is something above us but I consider that nobody on this earth or any religion has comed colsed to the real truth. There are a lot of thing in the bible that don't make sense and some thing that are pure evil (like slavery, murders etc. ordered by their god).

  • @mjt1517 it's my opinion that this is pure mitology and has nothing to do with the truth, but still we get the same evil that is present in some writings in the bible and that is not love as some caracterize the god. Religion has done a lot of bad things in this world. I do not need an old book filled with man made stories to know bad from good. It is also my opinion that once you read the bible you start doubting this god (i did). Have a nice day or evening (i live in Romania).

  • @ioanat4 All I said was the children of Jezebel in Revelation 2 are the followers of this woman's teaching. I simply corrected your literalistic reading of a symbolic book.

There indeed have been some religious people who have done bad things. But some of them have also done good things. Humans tend to do that...bad stuff and good stuff.

I find that the more I read the Bible, the more I believe it and am confirmed in my trust in Yahweh.

  • @boywhoy88 If your going to base your whole life on a bronze age book I respectfully suggest that you actually read it, particularly the bits where Jesus talks about the OT (hint, it was not "done away with").

  • @Tapecutter59 I said most of the stuff in the old testament was done away with. Stuff like stoning an adulterer, beating your slave, and sacrificing animals was done away with. Now do you see what im talking about? Under Christ we are to love God and love everyone as ourselves, this sums up everything in the old testament. Anyone who does these things, there is no law for them because they are sticking to these things. You get it? With Christ there is freedom. No sin if you are commited to him.

  • @Tapecutter59 This is why it is not good to base everything on the old testament. Most of the laws were made so people won't disobey. God is good all the time. Try the new covenant. I love it. God is good and just. It is not easy but God is good. He never said it was going to be easy. I can help you to know Christ ways if you want?

  • @boywhoy88 Dude just read the fucking book, the "new covenant" does NOT "do away with" the OT, it reaffirms and extends it. And no, I'm not religious, but I can read.

  • @Tapecutter59 Actually, "New" Covenant implies that the previous covenant is obsolete. The New Covenant supercedes the Old Covenant. The Old is a shadow...the New is the substance that casts the shadow.

  • @boywhoy88 wow so dumb XD God is a person? wow that proves that you are uninteligent. God is everything and nothing Alpha & Omega. the beggining and the end "HE" is not a person He is energy, a spirit something unknown so stop pretending you know cause you know shit. There is a BIG differenve between believing and knowing. You don't know, just belief.

  • @RichtoffenRoach Ok I might be dumb but I definitely know one thing, that is the road to salvation, it is a narrow road, few find salvation which is thru Christ. I will keep striving on that narrow road. Broad is the road to destruction. Are you on that road that God does not like or are you on the narrow road? God gives us a choice. Christ is waiting.

  • @ioanat4 God uses the computer to complete his will. God is good and God is love. God is holy therefore he can't let anyone unclean in heaven. God won't let unbelievers in because God gives humans the earth, seed and animals, a spouse to love, kids to see grow up and unbelievers still don't give him glory. So that is why unbelievers are not allowed in heaven."Thumbs up if you think im right". LOL. Funny guy. The only "smart" way is God's way. I mean who wants to burn forever? I don't.

  • @ioanat4 So God is giving everyone a chance to accept Christ as saviour and do the will because without Christ and without his will all will burn forever. God is holy, remember that. God is giving you a chance right now to accept him as saviour. He is calling you man.

  • @boywhoy88 oooh boy. You are mentally diseased. Are you talking about the same god that your fucking bible says loved fresh meat, that was not bothered by slavery, that was ordering crimes etc. Go read the fucking bible man and leave people here have a good time. Stop talking this shit. You don't even know what you believe.

  • This is quantum BS.

  • ive watched to many vids on this stuff my brain is melting lol

  • this is such a mindfuck. it's science meets spirituality.

what really got me was the big wow theory. sounds like what christians call god, that created both time and space in that moment of consciousness. am i understanding it correctly?

  • @andrewesoterica sounds about right

  • i am in the same feild but a bit young to be taken seriously thou am working my way towards meeting these experts n help them solve quantum physics problems ps i m a genius )

  • around the 3:00 mark. This idea would help to possibly explain deja vu phenomena could it not?

  • See this is no different from Deepak Chopra's bullshit.

  • @SamiLuukkanen Hameroff is spot bollock on

  • we could all be livin' in the matrix.

everything could just be made of switches like inside a computer.

so how does "quantum theory" prove that anything is weird?

noone finds the circuits in their computer weird.

nonlocality, now that is a bit more annoying.

  • more info //sites.google.com/site/physicsphilosophyscience/home

  • There is no past, there is no future nor timespace. Only Information,, I think ?

  • @mantrap9 there was a past (state of the cosmos that was) but the motion of everything has moved on to the present (that state of the cosmos that is), it has a number of futures for you depending on what next actions you decide to take, what state do you want your local cosmos to be in (i.e. your body, room, house, street, community etc etc)?

  • @mantrap9 look up atomic clock's. they have already used them to prove time is real

  • @Jarrodmontelius Every bit of Information within a Simulation, like Time, appear real. Quantum Mechanics tell us otherwise. Spacetime and the Speed of Light, I think are just some of the parameters of the Code in which the Simulation takes place. This appears to be true for all, even fundemental particles. So outside the Mind, there is no there, there.

  • So I don't really follow the western transition of knowledge. Long before the dark ages there were enlightened thinkers. The more we discover in science about the universe the more we find great parallels with ancient eastern thought. I really wouldn't be interested in learning about Calvinism, as I no longer suffer from that paradigm. This lecture here - youtube.com/watch?v=nttB3Wze3Y8&feature=related - is an interesting presentation on association of quantum mechanics and consciousness.

  • Seems like a problem of language, a non time universe can't be described by individual moments. If time doesn't exist then there is only one moment. always now. The mathematical argument to me presupposes a mathematical model. Spencer brown had some interesting things to say on this. Is it really so radical to suggest that form exists but the search for primary substance always leads to an infinity of more form?

  • @Mezocosm,

"Is it really so radical to suggest that form exists but the search for primary substance always leads to an infinity of more form? "

No, not at all. That's why we have calculus, limits, and much of Abraham Robinson's mathematics of infinitesimals. Form can exist in this sense.

We already have some theory of consciousness based purely on linking sense experiences. This can be explained by electromagnetism. Why try to develop a hypothesis with a much more uncertain science?

  • @Mezocosm,

"You must think religious superstition stands on equal footing with observable reproduced and applied technology."

It's interesting that you thought this. Hameroff's notion of time is largely based on a theological idea from the 1700s designed to harmonize hellfire Calvinism with science. Jonathan Edwards, the most brilliant theologian and first great American thinker, introduced the idea that moments are distinct and we perceive them to be linked to support the existence of God.

  • This isn't science. Time and space are both components of spacetime. This "quantum" world has nothing to do with any real science. It's crap.

  • @TheFlanker35

You are completely 100% incorrect. You must think religious superstition stands on equal footing with observable reproduced and applied technology. Your computer and cell phone have been built using these principals.

Wikipedia Flash memory and look for the section on erasing

Be responsible about your opinions. You may be just looking for someone to refute you, but that is lazy and someone may believe what you say.

  • @Mezocosm,

I don't have a cell phone , but this isn't the same quantum mechanics that produced flash memory. That quantum mechanics had nothing to do with consciousness. A flash drive works regardless of consciousness.

The reason that this isn't science but Penrose's presentation is science is because the equations of the wave function presuppose the existence of time regardless of consciousness. Consciousness evolved and quantum laws existed before consciousness so time must exist.

  • @TheFlanker35 I am glad to hear you are not dismissing quantum mechanics. Hameroff is presenting a theory which needs substantiation. As far as spacetime, there may be still be some unacknowledged assumptions regarding time. For instance, if looking at the planet from space you might see lots of things happening. But they all happening in an open expansive present. Time is a measurement of "events" and is superimposed subjectively. If you can link me to some real proof of "time" please do.

  • @Mezocosm,

I have a cell phone now so I can't say that line anymore. The proof that time must exist lies in the fact that the functions used to describe quantum mechanics require time to exist as an input. If energy is the ability to do work and the energy of the photon has been calculated with Planck's constant, then time must exist or energy of a photon would be undefined. This would give a variable Planck constant.

I shouldn't have said it was crap, it isn't, but it isn't pure science.

  • @Mezocosm,

    ..(continued),

It's what I'd call metaphysical speculation.

If time weren't to exist, then every individual moment would be unconnected and distinct like Hameroff says. This would mean that space is discrete because every moment could be considered indivisible. This part is a scientific hypothesis because it isn't subjective, but there's a major logical flaw; it rejects the legitimacy of the limit and calculus.

  • @TheFlanker35 "because the equations of the wave function presuppose the existence of time regardless of consciousness."

Not with quantum gravity it doesn't. Quantum gravity treats space and time as dependent on the wave-function rather than vice-versa as is the case with quantum mechanics. The math works both ways but when we dig in deep enough QG is primary to QM.

"Consciousness evolved and quantum laws existed before consciousness so time must exist."

    Did it? watch?v=Kj8UdHuP5l8

  • wish they had more stuff like this on tv

  • @uppityox

They do, most of it is on Comedy Central.

  • @DavidAlanRogers all i ever see on comedy central is two and a half men

  • @uppityox tv is evil

  • Me too. Unfortunatly tv is filled with crap like Jersey Shore. So it will be a while before the general public becomes interested in it's own existence.

  • @BurningHeretics

    "its"

  • @uppityox, it wouldn't make [enough] money.

  • Very interesting video! I am very interested in quantum mechanics and believe that our thoughts represent the most advanced part of a universal process. Light is a wave until it comes in contact with an object then it becomes a particle or photon. Could this process represent the forward passage of time photon by photon or moment by moment?

  • This guy is like, unqualified to talk about quantum mechanics. He's a PSYCHOLOGIST, not a physicist. I'll bet he doesn't even know how to solve rudimentary differential equations using power series.

  • @MathN00b

Yeah but he worked with Roger Penrose (who is qualified!!) to come up with his theory. Hameroff's knowledge of brains (he's actually a medical doctor) was crucial - hence the collaboration.

  • @MathN00b

Oh and recent discoveries back up some of his ideas - e.g. quantum decoherence being able to be maintained in warm wet environments.

  • sounds to me, like two men plopped down into a immense maze with ability to communicate to each other .. constantly saying to one another.. 'no its this way... '

fascinating stuff, just proof that there's a higher being than ourselves feeding us just a teasingly cool stuff.

  • It is completely impossible for time to have a beginning or end. Only perception of time can have a beginning or end, therefore time doesn't exist anywhere but out own minds. I don't think we'll ever know what happened because I think everything around us is eternal, Something we can't wrap out heads around.

  • wow they are just figuring out time is not real no shit, no wonder when you die time stops along with your consiousness

  • what they got about hell, what quantum shit they got about that place

  • it's a chain. a bit forward, a bit backward, a little at a time.

  • I love what Stuart's saying, but there's one problem. He's put his head on upside down! Those crazy atoms lol

  • Bullshit. Beard bollocks

  • @CrubbDaTubb

    LMAO!

  • In the quest of understanding our universe science is coming ever closer to the theories of the primeval sages and hermeticists. "ALL IS MIND" everything is consciousness, everything that we observe, is made of particles which are not really not there its just that our consciousness collapses the wave function and our brains filter out the information. So its like our consciousness creates a reality for us to live in.

  • @nejileesansenpai hence I'm a psychology major

  • really amazing time to be living in and i love it thank u for this video this is evolution of man kind and we are that change peace one love

  • If quantum superpositions collapse according to time-reversal symmetry, then suppose that every wave function since the birth of the universe, until the death of the universe, has already collapsed into a single state. Call it destiny. Wouldn't this take away the need for an objective observer to collapse the wave function, or an objective reduction threshold?

  • an objective threshold for quantum state reduction. . Finally, someone explains it properly. They don't know it yet, but this is exactly what is going on with 'time travel', or what is called "perceived temporal displacement", or the PTD phenomena. As far as the observer is concerned, it is complete reality. It will take many years before this is fully realized; and, it enlightens man to the fact that perceived reality is just that, perceived. I could go on, however, space is limited here.

  • Insightful discussion on nothing.

  • time travel maybe possible, if you travel to a parallel times, hence in the grand father paradox, you can got to a parallel time, and you dont create a paradox, because you kill the parallel you, parallel grand father and parallel father, but the one's known to you stay fine, hence the paradoxes are deleted, its like parallel universes, but as space and time are relative with parallel space comes parallel times where you can find parallel 2010, parallel 2011, parallel 2012, parallel 2013, exc.

  • The world only exists when its observed yawn! and prior to conscious life I gather it didn't exist? oh.... except for an ad hoc necessity for a picosecond at the end of the inflationary epoch. Big wow .....then no more consciousness for what?....... 12 billion years so! where was the consciousness that caused star formation planetary systems amino acids in stellar nebula abiogenesis. This is why physicists should read up on neurophysiology. Hes right about time though but even zeno knew that.

  • @flockhart So then, why do you bother to comment? lol

  • You create reality. It's proven that at the smallest level...what we see as things..aren't things at all. It's energy. It only becomes 'something' when you consciously look at it. Otherwise it's nothing but a cloud of possibility... it can be anything. Now the question is..are we a bunch of different somebody's , or just 'I' looking and creating reality through different perspectives that we call different people. Are we all fundamentally god?

  • I can tell by these comments, if i lived back in the day, i would be the crazy guy saying the world is round......

sadly new thoughts are shot down untill the public is ready for them

  • @Jarrodmontelius - You are right... Arthur Schopenhauer once said...

Every truth passes through 3 stages before it is accepted:

    1st - Its ridiculed

    2nd - Its opposed

3rd - Its regarded as self evident

    :)

  • @Jarrodmontelius

Actually... only uneducated peasants ever thought that the world was flat. Even before it was empirically verified most educated people believed the earth was round.

  • @Jarrodmontelius A classless, moneyless, stateless communities of humanity in cooperation to take care of our needs and well being , expressing our creative energies in freedom of being. Capitalism is the manipulation of resources and technology for the private gain of a few in a monetary system that enslaves immense humanity in wage slavery of useless employment system that dehumanises and denies our human creative potential for a world of harmony within and without...........

  • @arzoyan i agree

  • @Jarrodmontelius A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its

opponents and making them see the light, but rather because

its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up

    that is familiar with it.

-MAX PLANCK (guy who received Nobel Prize

in physics in 1918 for his works in quantum field, he is regarded as a founder of quantum theory...)

  • @Jarrodmontelius

I think what you mean to say is that ideas are always shot down until empirically verified. What is wrong with that? That is why physics is science and metaphysics is not.

  • If anyone can answer this question...that would be great....So what does Roger Penrose and Hammeroff think about an observer having an effect on the world...and how much of an effect is is. All of these different interpretations are hard to keep track of.

  • Interestingly, I've thought about this concept before that say you might be able to

get a feedback from a very near-term future. Have you ever thought of somebody and haven't seen her/him for a long time and bang, she/he appeared in front of you.

  • @afarro73 The next step will be examing that would he/she turn up if u not think about them?

  • @P3t3rG1 I can safely say that most of the time they will show up even if I don't think about them!

Anyway, if u believe in any of it, these so-call sixth sense effects of our brain should be very much limited simply b/c it is not helpful to our evolutionary survival, it just makes our system unstable.
