I went to a camp with my church, and we would sing this and other songs every night. One, was very emotional, and that is the second when I realized having no doubt that God was there always has been and always will be. It was in the song that goes "wipe away the stains, broke away the chains. This song is no joke. The artist wrote this song because his best friend had just died a tragic death, right after he said "I would give my life if it meant an awakening of the youth of our nation". If you think immaturely about things like God being our girlfriend, then you need to get your act together and take into heart the true meaning of the song, which is God's incredible love for us.

Where is this awakening of the youth you speak of? I totally believe God can and very well may begin an awakening in this country, but it will not be because some guy writes a sappy song or some guy died in a car wreck. It will happen when people wake up from their slumber, and realize that God is a holy God who commanded us to be holy and perfect. And when people start preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is what the Bible say will change people and awaken them.

I disagree with you. God is a holy God, yes, more than we can even understand. However, He did not call us to be "perfect", or live a blameless life, because we are incapable of it. If we were capable of this perfection, there would be no need for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who did live this life. We can't be perfect which is why we need grace. We can strive to be just like Christ, but we can't do it. 1) We have already sinned.. We were born into a sin nature and though we are believers now, we still have that sin nature. He knew no sin, but took on ours to save the world. 2) Because of sin, we are separated from Christ.. but because of His love for us and His dying on the cross for our sin, He paid our debt. 3)

This is where we grow to be more like Him, by spending time with Him and reading His word and learning the things that please Him. God has given us 2 commandments.. to love Him with all our heart, and to love others as Christ has loved us. In the book of Mark 16:15 it says, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (NKJV). This is where the "youth movement" is supposed to be coming from! I think this is both what McMillan and his friend now realize to be the truth. The "youth movement" has to start with us telling others about God's perfect, unmatched, unfailing, jealous love for us.

The Gospel will wake them up, not a sappy little song. Of course God can use someones death, but it will be through the preaching of the Gospel, it is always how He works and changes people. "The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation, for all who believe." Romans 1:16

When boys stop playing video games and seek the face of God and be men, and the Holy Spirit comes and convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. That will be a move of God, not this flimsy little song!

the song was actually inspired by a youth leader who died in a car accident after praying "I would give my life to awaken the youth of our nation" at a preyer meeting, "heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss" is refering to his death

Didn't get who the guy was.. was he representing God or just a person in need for salvation? he turns up on hte: he is jelous of me part, in a way u think his God asking for the person on the tables attention.. but also kneeling in front of the cross! Otherwise the song is my favourite nicely done filming and edeting.. but I say You can make it even easier to understand.. Also the scene in front of the mirror is hard to get.. and the guy buying something on the street..
