  • WHO KNEW THAT THE OFFICE COULD BE THIS FUN!?!?!?!

  • THIS IS AMAZING.

  • I'm from Rochester and am very familiar with RIT!! AND this vid was awesome. I couldn't set something like that up but admire those who can and not only set it up BUT with the tap of a toe let it all fall down WITH such synchronisity!!!

  • How long does it take to set that up!?

  • EPIK!

  • Hey john I got it almost set up.... OH SHIT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • @ytrewq6789 ROTFLMAO!!!

  • SICK

  • The thing I always wonder about these videos is why don't they show the whole video in one continuous shot? Thats proof that they didn't fake it and that they didn't make mistakes at certain parts. To cover up the mistakes they just show parts.

  • @jackhoff87 that's because it is virtually impossible, we're in a world where something must end. for a continuous shot, cgi must be involved. this still entertains that notion in an imaginative way. :)

  • @xmuzzledwolfx I disagree that computer graphics would need to be involved to do this in a single take. It just would have been jerky as I moved around with the camera (I didn't have a stabilizer after all). I could have done this in one take if the dominoes fell at a slower rate.

  • @jackhoff87 I didn't do it in a continuous take for a couple reasons. I don't like domino videos where you see the whole field at once and just watch the dominoes fall. It becomes boring. You know what's going to happen because you can already see it. This way, you watch the journey of the dominoes. I actually did test chasing the dominoes as they fell, but too much motion in the frame. It was just easier this way.

  • @jackhoff87 ...unless they were using several camera's...and, in which case, you'd need to splice those together...which means, it'll look cut. Someone would have to shoot from start to finish while holding the camera to do one continuous shot...which detracts from how cool it looks...which it does...run-on sentences, be damned! lol

  • @jlyon1515 cool!

  • a fan of the tigers perhaps? Or did they sponsor.

  • @TiaralovesTinsel They didn't sponsor, but I work at RIT, and they're our sports team. It was just done for the school spirit.

  • I wouldn't want to be the person having to set those things up. Twenty dominos can drive me up the wall.

  • holy crap! that was so cool!

  • awesome awesome video! :D quick question- those black boxes creating staircases, what are they exactly? premade kits or...?

  • @moviemaker1127 They are actually black dominoes glued together. Initially, I bought 2 boxes of black dominoes off eBay, but they were half the normal size, and so light that your breath would cause them to fall over. Unusable as dominoes but they worked for the staircases. There are no premade kits of dominoes attached to devices that make them easy to stand up and knock down.

  • @jlyon1515 brilliant! :D thanks for gettin back to me! ^^ keep up the awesome work! :D

  • Nice job - good promo for creativity.

  • that was sooooooooooo coool!

  • I've been clicked..

  • it is good, but could only be something special if it was all in one take... as in no cutting to hide retries!

  • mmm this is cool

but it'd have been more impressive if it'd have been recorded on a continuos shot

  • I think that is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I love how things such as the printer, that was the best.

  • wow! A lot has changed in 36 years!

  • It was awesome in the video, and awesome in person to watch.

  • awesome!

  • Video is down? I just watched it an hour ago. Where did it go?!?!

  • YouTube has been having some little hiccups lately. It's happened with other videos as well. Everything seems to be back up and working fine now though.

  • That is amazing!

  • That's awesome! I loved the copier and the Ritchie's paw design.

  • Clever! Loved the copier at 1:22.

  • My instructor in Human Factors just showed us this video. This is why I love this university :D

  • What will "they" think of next? So when will the team start planning for next year ... LOL

  • fantastic work! Go RIT!

  • Awesome job! About the orange dominoes on the file cabinet - do they spell out a word?

  • Nope. That orange section was all done by Alexander Gartley, one of the two other guys who worked on the video. He just wanted to use a lot of dominoes so he did a bunch of zigzags and lines with them.

  • Totally cool! Those RIT students are great engineers!

  • Totally amazing!! My co-worker and I watched it together and couldn't help but yell out with excitement every time an unexpected thing happened! What fun - it made my day!

  • That was the coolest thing

  • dogghackerz...I work in the same office as these guys, and I can assure you that the entire video was produced on their own time.

    Glad you enjoyed it though!

  • really nice man !!! I dug the use of the copier ...very smooth !

  • If only this project was funded! :) It was basically a three-man project. I personally purchased all the dominoes myself, and all filming was done after hours with my own camera.

I'm an RIT alum as well as RIT staff, and I just wanted to do something cool and creative, as well as promote the festival.

Glad you still thought it looked cool.

  • Great Job !

  • This is nice

  • you could have just let the banner unroll....way easier

  • This is so cool, everyone loves dominoes. Great job!

  • This video was mentioned on the WHAM 1180 morning show with Beth and Chet!

  • cool!

  • Jared - that's very cool! Next time, have them roll across Mark's desk to wake him up! :)

  • Fantastic!

  • Excellent!!! The ball and final banner were especially great!

  • That was great! Nice job on the tiger paw.

  • Love the ball and the filing cabinet. Glad RIT President Bill Destler kicked it off...

  • Very cool stuff. This year's festival is going to be great. It's May 2 at RIT.
