for those commenting on how it sounded it might be the radio1/youtube effect on the recording as when i heard it on the tv after the gig it was (obviously) nowhere near as good as being there. it was also the first track they did of the evening gig and it only got better from here on in!

Its rare to see a band that can actually perform as good live as they do in there studio performances. Foo Fighters are absolutely great live, that being said "The Pretender" is a song that is not so easily played live, listen to some other live performances by the Foo Fighters and you will see that they do a lot better on songs that they have had time to practice and learn flawlessly.
