Nowadasy they probably go of it with longer period left to get it out of the body for the competition, but when she was in the sport they were right on the limit and many of them got caught, plus back then the tests weren't so sophisticated. If they want to get the drugs out of the sport they will have to start test them also out of competition.
I really do not understand the issue about the drugs. If an athlete uses drugs is to make himself or herself a super athlete. I do understand why they are being so harsh on her, but it is sad becuase everyone else could have or did take performance enhancing drugs she was just the one who got caught. Steroids were first know to be used in the Olympics by the Russians in 1954. So we should be serious and realistic about how most of the records since.

I really do not understand the issue about the drugs. If an athlete uses drugs is to make himself or herself a super athlete. Good, but if she had used some weed, that would slow down her performance, would there be a discussion. This is absurd. But so much morality but she did what she had to do te get on the top, that glory no one can take away from her. Ever been on the top? When you fall it doesn't matter, because yeh you were there.

She is just being made the patsy here. The majority of the top end Olympic sprinters are all on more than one kind of performance enhancing drug whether legal or illegal. I do understand why they are being so harsh on her, but it is sad becuase everyone else could have or did take performance enhancing drugs she was just the one who got caught. Steroids were first know to be used in the Olympics by the Russians in 1954. So we should be serious and realistic about how most of the records since.

even though she was busted for steroids she is not a disgrace, when you are at that level in a sport peer pressure can hit and it can be almost impossible to say no. a lot of sports atheletes take other forms of steroids and maybe their kind of steroids arent known. she is still a great athelete and nobody should think bad of her, because she had to work really hard to even make it as a pro sprinter. everyone makes mistakes and they should be forgiven.

It's not only her fault! I mean that lots of people took a part in taking steroids by her. I'm sure that her trainers knew about it, but now everyone lays the blame on her. She was fantastic champion even without steroids. But in Sydney people wanted too much and too early from her. She could won those medals soon, withuot doping, because she's very talented. She didn't take those steroids through whole career and she was the best anyway. I hope she'll come back.
