How is BMW treating workers with "utter contempt"? Their British division is not making as much money so they needed to scale back on workers. I don't like how he says "these people" because guess what? BMW could make mini's in Germany for about the same money and make huge improvements in quality if they wanted to.

It cost loads more to build cars in England, thats why british car manufacturers were rubbish and foreign cars makers moved there plants abroad. The engines for the mini are built in Brazil. Minis are not built to the usual bmw standards

I know. A friend of mine was laid off and applied for a job. There were 100 openings and over 2 thousand people lined up waiting hours to apply. Most of the people were over qualified for the position and would be taking a substantial cut in salary.
