  • no se oye...

  • I'm sure you realised that your corneas' still seem bulgy after the surgery, coz they only cut the middle area in the cornea thus the outer area is still bulged out due to myopia, not nice and unnatural imho. There's a natural treatment for the eye that you shld've tried and it totally reshapes the WHOLE of your eyeball, but since you have done lasik, you will be locked like this forever, the treatment won't work anymore, its sad since your very beautiful.

  • I actually want to correct it because I'm 20/80 nearsighted, but the problem is the my parents say that it's not bad enough to be worth the LASIK.

  • You're not supposed to get LASIK until after your eyes stop growing anyway, usually around age 22. And if you're female, your eyesight can change with each pregnancy, so you have plenty of time to save up your own money to get it done when you want to.

  • I have bruising on both of my eyes. some people are more prone to bruising than others, and it also depends on how relaxed or how tense you were during the surgery. I didn't take the drugs to relax me, which I should have done, and I got really tense and sort of squeezed my eyes when they put on the little rings with suction.

  • Would you do LASIK if you knew the TRUE SUCCESS RATES?

1st Year Post LASIK: 88% success rates.

2nd Year Post LASIK: 65% success rates.

3rd Year Post LASIK: 50% success rates.

4th Year Post LASIK: 45% success rates.

5th Year Post LASIK: 40% success rates.

6th Year Post LASIK: 40% success rates.

7th+Year Post LASIK: Below 40%success rate.

Will you be one of the "lucky ones" that can last 10+ years without contacts or glasses?

  • yes, yes I will

  • An elective procedure, doctors will not come clean about the possible side effects of LASIK. Twelve years post-LASIK and it remains the worst decision of my entire life. Are you willing to take that chance?

  • Watch our video to see Dr. Chao, an awesome doctor with 100% success rate!

  • "Y ahora sí, que no puedo vivir sin ellos, yo."

"No encontré ojos así, como los que tienes tú."

LOVE the song, Shakira w/Amr Diab!

  • No, it's been longer than 6 months for me and I don't have problems with double vision and irritated eyes. I had astigmatism pre-surgery and it was not corrected (I think it was too minor) and that is the only difficulty I have, it is so small I can live with it.

For people like me who could not see anything without glasses or contacts this surgery is a big help, even if the 20/20 goes away after some years (which thankfully hasn't happened to me!)

  • hey there have been cases submitted to the fda (1000+) since 1997 that talk about how lasik has ruined their life after 6 months post surgery.

Do u see double vision or experience irritated eyes? please tell the truth

  • *cough*1997*cough* now its *2009*

  • Uhm...it's been like 12 years since 1997

  • please don't be fooled, there is other option to treatment, use the bates method, give it fair try before you say it does not work. for me it works.

  • i had steven johnson syndrome last year and lost the eyesight in my right eye :( i wonder if i can recommend my eye doctor about this?

  • You should definitely try to talk to your doctor about it!

  • did u notice we are all trick to believe theirs no cure for myopia? then they prescribe glasses to people and over the years we have to change to stonger glasses.

then they push u to lasik. full of rubbish, it can be prevent from the begining of blur vision, use bates method and pin holes glasses

  • yes it works but did u notice, they first tell theres no cure from myopia, when they proscribe glasses to u.... and ur eyesight getting worser and need stonger glasses. theres already method to prevent it, called the bates method and how about "pin holes glasses" they are a greedy and full of rubbish

  • update:

3 year checkup post LASIK: 20/10 right eye, 20/15 left eye. Some dry eye if I'm up late and in the morning, but it usually goes away after I've been up for awhile.

My doctor didn't lie to me about anything. This is an ELECTIVE surgery, and the information has been available for years. It doesn't seem logical to blame the surgeon for poor results and accuse them of 'lying' to their patients when the truth about LASIK has been readily available for years.

  • But, what if, a patient takes the LAW into their own hands, now ruined and suicidal feeling there is nothing to live for? Doesn't this create an "x" factor for the Lying LASIK Doctors to think about? Does safety now come before money for once? Only time will tell. Basically, the Lying LASIK Doctors have lied in order to save a lawsuit, while pushing the patient past the Statute of Limitations to sue them which is about 2 years usually, all while ruining his patient's eyesight and life.

  • im in 15 years old my vision is not ok i have 4/10 and im sceared for get down to 0/10

what you device to mee??? Lasike in 20 Years

  • You probably won't go down to 0/10, don't worry. You need to wait until you are 20, 21, 22 and you stop growing, and your vision has to remain stable for at least 3 years before you do the operation. Hang in there!

  • If you want to be a fighter pilot, wait a couple of years and get PRK cause its the only one aprooved by the USAF and even though it takes longer to heal than Lasik, it is safer than Lasik. I suggest you wait till you go to college of when you get out. You won't really need it until that time period.

  • I'm with you, kibilds.

The procedure took like ten minutes, and aside from maybe twelve hours of slightly fuzzy vision, I've had no negative side effects (not even dry eye) in two years, and I've got better than perfect 20/15 vision in both eyes.

    Best procedure ever invented. Ever.

  • Hey :)

I am thinking of doing a Lesik but am not sure yet. Could you tell me how long has been since u had the treatment and if your vision is still as it is supposed to be?

    Thanks :)

  • I had it in Feb 2007, and I'm still seeing great! It's actually better, because the initial glares are almost gone.

  • Hi there. I just had custom intralase done last thursday and my near vision is excellent but my distance vision is a bit blurry. How is you're distance vision?Did you have intralase or just regular lasik? Thanks for posting this!! I know I have to be patient but I'm just so anxious to get my 20/20 or better vision back. :)

  • It definitely took over a week for everything to go back to normal with me. I think it took about a month or so. My distance vision right now is better than it was with contacts I have to admit, but I also had problems at the beginning. I had regular lasik though, so for you it might be different! Just hang in there, it gets better and you won't even remember you ever wore contacts or glasses!

  • Thanks!! I know I have to be patient since it's only been a week!! I am just so eager to get that 20/20 or 20/15 vision. Thanks for your reply :)

  • Hi there. Thnks for this post. I had lasik surgery a few weeks ago and I was wondering if you have experienced and "floaters" like dots or lines in your vision on occasion. This can occur when looking at a white wall or in bright light. I have been experiencing them on occasion, it's only been a few weeks since my surgery so I thought others might be experiencing them..I pleased with the results though and thanks for posting this!

  • Hey, to be honest, I don't remember any floaters...(I did have these with contacts, dots that would move), what I did have though was sort of a glare especially when trying to read letters made of light (like fast food menus, powerpoints, etc.). I don't think you have a big issue here, just ride it out and if it persists for a while, then get it checked!

  • I had lasik 2.5 years ago. I was legally blind before the operation. I was 20/60 immediately after the operation. After about a week I had 20/10 in my right eye and 20/15 in my left. At my 1 year post op visit i still had 20/10 in my right and 20/15 in my left. I have better night vision and no starburst at night. Sometimes my eyes get dry if I've been up for long periods of time, but mostly they are normal.

  • you are gorgeous !

  • Thanks!

  • by the way... you are very pretty.

  • Thank you!

  • That "Bruise" was from the suction ring place on your eye to create the flap. You do realize that your prescription will continue to change with age. Many lasik surgeon secretly say that most of their patients end up in glasses about five years after the surgery. There is much more to this surgery than they are telling you. (go to lasikflap dot com and lifeafterlasik dot com.)

  • Hi, yeah I read all sorts of things, negative and positive, I'm aware of the things that can happen and still I decided to go for it. I had been wearing glasses/contacts for 7 years and I was practically blind without them, it's nice to get up and SEE for a change :)

  • Of COURSE your prescription will change with age, but for someone like me, who was legally blind, I'd rather have to wear thin glasses/contacts or reading glasses later in life than have to continue wearing the ridiculously thick glasses and contacts I'd had to have worn if I hadn't had the surgery at all!

  • I agree here

  • How's your night vision? Any halo's or starbursts? A majority of patients always report some degree of night time vision aberrations.

  • Yeah there are some halo's at night and when I have to stare at powerpoint presentations..

  • Yeah, but around how much would it cost - like £300 per eye? (I'm only asking cos I've seen adverts on tv and schizzle =]])

    xxx

  • Well it really depends on where you have it done, I had mine done with my family doctor in Venezuela, and it was a lot cheaper just because of the exchange rate and economic situation and so on! I don't know how much it would cost in the UK, sorry :(!

  • thats ok! lol =DD

    xxx

  • hey i have a question, how long does it take for your eye to be 20/20? is it like couple days or weeks? btw i cant help notice that song. its arabic right? i think i hear my parents listen to that song sometimes haha. are u lebanese by any chance?

  • I think it took me a little under two weeks for my eyes finally to be 20/20, however under certain circumstances (like lighted words, eg. McDonald's menus, Powerpoint presentations, etc) it took a bit longer! The song is Ojos Asi by Shakira, she does like the Arabic influence in her songs!

  • That was good

congratulations for you having that surgery done

I'm referring this video to my colleges.

  • I'm going to show my friend this! She's afraid of getting surgery.

  • Do it, there is nothing to be afraid of, all she has to know is that it is a long recovery period and she has to be clear on what results to expect!
