  • fucking sweet, im making an RC boat out of a 25cc weedwhacker motor, thanks for some inspiration..... harbor frieght????

    *

    watch?v=fLLWVWIpirU&feature=channel_video_title

  • i saw this idea in a magazine called mother earth news 20+years ago.

but its still a good idea today!

  • how did you make that?

  • cool idea. Bad thing here in texas is any trolling motor or gas motor boat requires TX numbers. Haven't checked but I bet it applies to kayaks too.

  • did you make he electric start or did it come with it?

  • @FALLOUT20rads It came like that

  • @FALLOUT20rads dude thats bad ass

  • loud as fuck, you've got to channel the exhaust into the prop.

  • the fishermen will love the sound of this thing.

  • h20 will seize bearing

  • when youre not using it with the kayak you could probably still use it for lawn care!

  • I love how people can think out of the box. I would of never thought of this and I bet it would work out pretty well :)

  • ryobi rubbish....put it on a good japanese trimmer

  • why would u use this in a kayak??? there supposed to be slow and for campin and shit, but to see this in a small boat would be fuckin pimp!

  • That's the loudest fan I've encountered.

  • Electric start is awesome! my instant assumption was that prop might be too big to keep the revs sitting pretty, but obviously that depends on the engine's output, was it a problem with this one? i noticed you made that smaller prop for your other unit, great job btw!

  • it's loud :P

  • Wouldn't a three phase brushless dc motor fair a lot less nosier and smokey on the pond? :P

  • R.I.P headphones :'(

  • good education comes from family, I am sorry for you!

  • YES! Margarita for everyone!!

  • Hey I got same engine how do you get it to start like that? My pullstarter has the teeth worn out so makes it a real battle trying to get it going. Cheers

  • Those are tough engines.

  • @killingspree500

Some of these engines have electric start built-in.

  • Kayak-Motor ... Bad Idea

  • This is awesome! Anyone who has a problem with you being innovative can fuck off! You didn't go out to design a new engine with great emissions and a silent exhaust note to power a completely new boat design from the ground up so idk what they are bitching about. I'm also sure if you told the makers of this weed whacker what you've done here they would probably say you voided the warranty then go on to tell you that nobody has told them they've don't that before and how creative you are for try

  • you will scare away all the fish!;0)

  • My country invests heavily in sustainable resources, there are four nearby plants heólocas, my car runs on ethanol and my kayak is moved by oars and sail, buy my food at a local organic farmer, has doubts about search for Porto Alegre, Brazil. ..

Still thinking differently thanks for sharing your video!

  • @fkrauze So I assume your computer is powered 100% by wind or solar, don't own a car that leaves a nasty carbon footprint and grown your own food without without using any ecologically harming pesticides. If thats the case then I applaud you for your efforts. Otherwise, thanks for being curious enough to watch and enjoy a life of hypocrisy.

  • Brilliantly written!!

  • @n56db I believe fkrauze's point was the to point out the irony of using a motor on kayak, specifically and not to criticize the use of internal combustion engines, in general. For most people who paddle, a part of the experience is the intimate connection to nature provided by the paddles, the quiet serenity of the environment, or the exercise, etc; to put a motor on a kayak defeats the purpose of a kayak... but, I personally am all for experimentation/DYI/modification and think this is cool.

  • @n56db What if I grow all my own food without using anything toxic drive a car with a small carbon footprint and am off the grid so you could say my pc runs off wind and solar but still found this pretty cool?

  • @n56db OH SNAP...

That was one of the finest replies, apart from the grammar :P, that I've ever seen!

    Kudos !

  • @fkrauze ocean kayak makes one with a minn kota trolling motor built right in it

  • @fkrauze Your a fool, and your from the shallow end of the gene pool. Stop polluting YouTube with stupidness.

  • Believe it or don't--there was a commercial outboard based on a very loud McCullough curved-shaft whacker. I saw it in either a Monkey Wards or a Sears in Parkersburg WV in the early 1990s. It was not store-branded. I recognized the powerhead because I owned the same model, only mine was just a weed whacker. Best regards.

  • @TheSonofmydad

I'd always imagined the possibility of a commercial product, but I didn't think they actually made them. Being a 1990s model it was probably an Echo-designed engine.

  • Redneck style !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it's so noisy !!!

  • Reminds me of those boats in that James Bond movie with the "flying" AMC Matador Coupe.

  • The cigarette with the nod alone is worth the thumbs up!

  • wheres the damn kayak?

what use whats this video, i wanted to see it run.

  • @samljer There are 3 videos total, check out the other 2

  • electric start???how can u do that?

  • The name of this video is a misconception. There was no kayak in this video at all. I wanted to see this thing in action. Thanks for the waste of time.

  • thats badass bro

  • Only smart people would use a weed eater one because all you have to do is put the propeller and thts it thumbs up :)

  • @pigeonowner12 and shorten the shaft and drive line.

  • I have an air boat motor with a 350 chevy in my kyack. Pussy ryobi weed eater!

  • @katie16522 I have a jet engine on my paddleboat.

  • so is this a gas motor or battery powered???

  • @sireatalot247

So are you retarded or retarded???? Obviously it's gas.

  • wheres the fucking kayak ?

  • vos decis que va? ajaja

  • i didn't see a kayak eating weeds.

  • @jonnyasprin I've never seen a weed eater, eat weeds... They usually cut them.

  • wheres the kayak??

  • I tryed that shit and it didnt work right i gotta redo mine

  • you should probably get one of those gas powered drills, and use the transmission to step down the 10000+ rpm of the engine down to something that would work better for the propeller.

  • noisy piece of shit

  • @obscureluzername Thank you, I really appreciate your honesty. Perhaps you should contact Ryobi and give them some of your intellectual feedback.

  • @n56db A guy who made an outboard with a weed whacker engine is insulting my intellect, ouch.

  • @obscureluzername If your so easily offended by innovation and stepping outside the box; it's probably best you stay off the Internet and go back to whatever dull, boring and unimaginative existence you previously enjoyed.

  • @n56db Shouldn't the term "innovation" be reserved for things of use? Why would you even buy a kayak if you just want a motorboat? Kayaks are supposed to be about intimate coexistence with your natural surroundings not raping the auditory senses of every living creature within a 2km radius.

What's your next project? a bicycle with a Hayabusa engine?

  • @obscureluzername Okay so any watercraft with an engine is of no use? I wasn't aware that kayaks were strictly intended for government regulated intimacy. Truly my bad; however will I live with myself??? I'll be sure to pass on your stellar advice to all owners of internally combusted powered watercraft to stay a firm 2km from any water source.

  • Admittedly a 1300cc powered bicycle is surprisingly novel... considering the source. It is however a bit impracticable. Now a Hayabusa powered go-cart on the hand? Wait, thats already been done!

  • @n56db I wouldnt worry about him...i think its awesome you got creative and experimented.

@obscureluzername Why do you have to be such a simple minded crybaby...the dudes just having a good time....you dont like it...ok. However heres a novel concept...instead of sitting on your computer hating on other people creative ideas....why dont you step outside for once and get a life of your own....or go back and surf porn....or wait....you probably criticize that too

  • @obscureluzername

Whats your ordeal? I know being a life long virgin is tough buy maybe you should realize just because you can type your opinion doesnt mean anyone gives 2 shits about it. If you doing like what hes done seriously piss off.

  • @obscureluzername

You must be one of those green peace tree huggers that's married to nature. Whats it like to have never had an original thought in your entire life?

  • @obscureluzername I hope you know motorcycles weren't originally created for gas mileage, they were created as a toy, originally created from a bicycle frame, with a small motor.

So your statement about the bicycle with a Hayabusa engine, was a complete failure.

  • @obscureluzername yes you are

  • @fairyheli2 creative, you get a gold star!

  • @obscureluzername thank you

  • @obscureluzername I agree. I had one. worst piece of shit ever.

  • @romafern2010 Lol well thanks for offering some objective criticism, seems these other Nancys can't take having their fragile feelings hurt (pouty face).

  • @obscureluzername When you can produce a valid argument of any substance, I might consider having hurt feelings. The idea of calling something a piece of shit is hardly objective criticism, but simply mindless chatter. However its nice to know that you are not alone in this world; romafern2010 is also seems to be lacking imagination just like you and should direct all comments to the manufacturer.

  • @n56db Why? Did the manufacturer advocate using its weed whacker as an outboard? Probably even they would call you an idiot. Here's a valid argument: if you brought that noisy piece of shit near me while I was out kayaking I'd put one of my blades through your face for destroying the tranquility. Go get a real boat and motor numbnuts.

  • @obscureluzername No they did not advocate using it as an outboard. I would assume that even someone with a diminished mental capacity like you could figure that out. They did however design the exhaust to meet a specific noise level; except ofcourse for tree hugging saviors of tranquility. The bottom line is your a douche and as much fun as it was to get you fired up on being a noise concious pussy; your simply just not very interesting anymore.

  • sweet until your using it and it slips outta your hand does a backflip and cuts your finger off

  • Does the rotor head fit directly on to the attachment shaft or do you have to fabricate a square short drive shaft insert ?.

  • Try using a large fiberglass rc aero prop thinner and more efficient :)

  • how did you attach the propeller like where did you get that part on the bottom of the shaft?

  • i made my own prop from a nail plate a trollin motor prop or brass blade anything with a fat ring on it will cavitate to much the nail plate works great just try bendin and grindin tell you get one that moves you out

  • That is badass. Awesome!

  • i think this motor is too noisy. possably a good idea. wrong motor

  • how did you get the shaft inside the yellow pole at that lenght

  • @1995lundy he said in the discription that he replaced the cable with square stock....I need a curved drive so I plan to try cutting ,welding and forging the square end, but first I plan to look into buying a shorter cable like used in some of the attachments.

  • So awesome lol

  • wheres the kayak?

  • Trim the seaweed as you go. lol

  • Nothing like a nice peaceful morning ride across the lake in my kayak....... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Next, maybe someone can make a weed eater from an outboard motor...

  • Electric start weed eater.... that's a first :)

  • how did u make it electric start

  • how did u make it electric start

  • awesome

  • wow i like the idea, light, simple, practical, and easy to make one of my own

  • this would be an even better with a 4-stroke engine!

    quieter,and more economical!

  • hahaha that would be fun

  • this is actually pretty kick ass

  • Hi.. I use same type Riobi without gearbox... P series with a bent shaft and cable driven.. If you goto your Radio controlled boat people on E-bay and buy a small 2 bladed alloy or bronze prop. Tell them what you want it for and they will be able to guide you a little... The gearbox wont be a problem but the clutch will.. It will get very hot and start to smoke... the housing on mine melted from the heat. Convert it direct drive.. It can then run slower

  • you just need to mount it on boat an make it more quiet and you are good to go for fishing

  • i want this thing!!!

  • now that is a smart guy. bravo

  • hahahahah yeha

  • Does it actually work in water or does the gearbox crap itself?

    .

    .

    .

    .

  • wtf how you get electric start

  • @killingspree5000 most ryobi are electric start now

  • so cool so cool. how does that gearbox handle under water? had any issues?

  • how does it electric start? please.

  • it just has a battery in it and it turns the pull start and they the motor turns over and starts

  • @twistedf3ar so was it purchased this way? or a after purchase modification?

  • he prob bought just a plain pull start motor and took of the pull cord out and hooked the electric motor to spin it so the motor turns over and starts like a car

  • lmao

dumb guy- "where did you get the prop"??

    response- "the boat store"

    ahahahhahaa

  • lol thank you for pointing that out lol

  • lol it makes sense, they have multi direction carbs and put out a lot of horse power and it looks like it wasnt too hard to make, i like it =]

  • hilarious!

    nice work

  • SUPER!! THANKS!!

  • I need help from you. Can pay money for your help

  • how did you make the weedeater that short. please answer

  • the Ryobi is fitted with e-start from factory, the flex shaft is removed in favor of square stock, and yes the prop came from a boat store but performed terribly, because it was too large in diameter for low torque of a weedeater engine. The machined prop used in my other 2 vid's work way better.

  • where did you get the prop

  • boat store

  • Hi, does anybody know where i could get the end gearbox bit and shaft from..?? Thanks

  • How did you put the electric starter?

  • how the hell did you get electric start?

  • plese make i video how you made this!
