It's true. A Black woman's chance of being married at any time during her life is about 40%, whereas it's in the 80s and 90% for Whites? White kids come out of High School already planning their weddings and that's just a fact. I don't know why, but that's the difference between the cultures. Go to a predominantly white church and see how many couples are sitting there as opposed to a black church. And the white couples have been married from 10 to 60 yrs!

@carolineislands I'm sorry to have to say it but Black kids are not growing up in homes with a mom and dad but white kids are. Many of the whites are still growing up in a family with one mom and one dad for all the kids and those parents will be married their whole lives until the kids stand by their death beds and tell them goodbye for the last time. No more than 10% of black kids will ever know what that feels like. It's very sad and it's taking its toll.

@carolineislands the reason is that there are monetary benefits to being a single mother, and a large portion of the black population has been bought off by the Democrat party which perpetuates welfare schemes that keep people dependent on hand-outs, in exchange for votes.

For the FIRST time, mothers and fathers with brown skin can tell their children, they can be ANYTHING that they put their minds to and there isn't a position in this country that has not been attained by a person of color (if a black man can be President, I have no doubt we can vote for a black VP).

You can't be blind to the fact that racism still exists, but the working blacks I speak with on this subject agree with you. The street blacks have a different view. I, however, think you are both courageous and insightful.
It's very sad that generational ghettoism continues to plague the black community. When a young boy, for example, prefers a street gang to school, the future of all blacks ... and society as a whole ... is threatened.

the reason not a lot of marriage is because of the "black men". You're absolutely right. The slutty teenage hos no withstanding, there exist many educated black women, who still want to get together with a black man (hopefully educated one too) after they've achieved success. The successful black men turn these women down and go for some trashy white hos. I speak from my heart as I speak all day every day. I write down one or two subject notes and just say what's true. Moynihan discredited position argues that the Blacks, due to certain "historical factors" have created a weak black family structure which cause a a "tangle of pathology" in the Black community.
