  • Hannan is too radical for Cabinet. As noble as his positions are they are not the general positions of the New Right conservative party.

    -----

NHS is a bombshell; it's rubbish and a finacial blackhole. It gets more expensive every year and is a painful tax burden on those that sustain it. Healthcare is not right.

  • Hannan is right about the EU and wrong about the NHS.

  • They should rename the EU, the EUSSR.

  • My parents fight and help to bring down a communists in Czech Republic, to free the country of the opression, tyrany and ideological dogma. What they said to me is - "It is your turn. There are allways some that will try to steal your freedom. It doesn't matter if they came with guns and tanks or with smiling face and offering hand. You must fight back. In our time - the Soviet Union was the enemy. European union is just the same reborn empire of lies. Show that you deserve your freedom."

  • I m still amazed they got away with our NO in France. Fortunately, there is now a non racist party in France trying to unite all of us who wants their country BACK.

It's good to hear there are still some people defending democracy at the EU, thanks Mr Hannan.

  • The EU is the new face of communism. Massive unemployment, no growth, no freedom, no democracy. Poverty for everyone apart from the BBC and the others who support the EU.

ps. The Irish vote was never going to matter.

  • If only he were leader of the tories and not Call me Dave then there might just be a future for this bankrupt island of ours

  • omg what he said at:49 on ireland just threw their country away

  • You are somewhat innocent "TBM" if you genuinely believe that the Irish "saw off the might of the British Empire". Yes, we did win our independence from Britain. But, ultimately, it was concluded through the medium of a treaty signed in London, and not by guerilla warfare.

Interesting how Hannan passionately believes in "respecting the No vote". But he doesn't show a scintilla of respect for the "Yes" vote of 1,200,000 Irish people.

  • What about the first vote? The Irish were brow-beaten and blackmailed into voting 'NO.' The chief of Ryanair said if Ireland voted No, the EU wouldn't forgive the Irish ''because the feckers have long memories.'' The French rejected it. The Dutch rejected it. We would have rejected it if we had been given the chance. The European Union is a Marxist construct based on the Gramscian principle of a long march through the institutions, and you poor Irish bastards fell for it.

  • @Mickmars90 Good that you are able to mind read the thoughts of all 1,200,000 Irish voters who assented to Lisbon ratification. Sad that you have to resort to racist abuse in order to make your point.

  • I didn't realise the Irish were a separate race... well, one lives and learns.

  • @Mickmars90 At least we can speak plain English. Unlike you. "A Marxist construct based on the Gramscian principle of a long march through the institutions." Yeah right, Mickmars, keep on talking like that and you'll develop a very large plum in your larynx.

  • It's called eloquence sir. I have a propensity to engage in prolixity. However, I like to utilise every opportunity available to demonstrate my perspicacity and my alacrity for political debate. Some may call it pomposity (including me at times) but sagacity is a quality more people should develop.

  • If you never become prime minister, then i'll lose all faith in my fellow countrymen.

  • Daniel Hannan, you are awesome!

  • Plzz run for PM!!!!!!

  • @LoinUK Please dont!

  • @xxksaoXX and you're a fool

  • @ManlnCognito and you're a naive lout.

  • @xxksaoXX And you like most leftist pricks are a naive clueless middlecalss poof

  • @ManlnCognito Being a long term member of the Conservative Party, I personally don't consider myself a "leftist" in any sense of the word. Your use of the english language is absolutely incredible, you have no way of argueing without insulting someone.

  • yes please much better than call me Dave!!

  • WILL YOU PLEASE RUN FOR PRIME MINISTER

  • What an excellent MEP. I'm A BNPer not a tory, but this guy is great. Well done mr. Hannan., PS you will you go now Mr. Brown speech was hilarious.,

  • Comment removed

  • You can't say this guy is great if you're a "BNPer", he's idealogically the reverse of you, with the exception of anti-federalism.

  • Well based on the 2 stories ive heard he made me laugh... im sure if i showed more of an interest i n him i would say otherwise

  • Said who? If he likes Dan Hannan he likes Dan Hannan and thats all there is too it. Each to there to own.

  • We are coming out of the global recession, and all the hundreds of new schools and hospitals filled with extra staff will still be there when we do. The record shows that this kind investment wouldn't have happened at all under the Conservative Party. Thank you, Labour.

  • It's amusing you think we're coming out of the recession. I believe we have a long long way to go yet, thanks partially to Mr. Browns gross negligence.

  • Please run for PM of Britain!

  • Hannon. You confidently declared to Gordon Brown that "you cannot spend your way out of recession." But Britain IS now coming out of recession because our economy is growing again. Were you wrong? Could Gordon Brown have CUT Britain out of recession and into growth?

  • No, stocks are beginning to be sold again and that will bring about a short-term period of growth until these stocks run out. The recession is still there, it hasn't peaked yet and the economy will recede again. Brown has certainly not helped the economy repair itself and we still have a national debt that will take nearly 30 years to repay.

  • Yes, the economy IS growing so we ARE coming out of this recession HOWEVER much you wish it to be temporary. The truth is that Britain had it's longest continuous run of economic growth with low inflation and borrowing rates on record under Labour, and the break in that run is temporary. This recession started in the U.S. under a CONSERVATIVE administration and spread around the world. The recession hit Britain LATER than many other countries and we're coming ot of it SOONER.

  • I don't wish the recession to be long-lasting, it's just going to be and this growth is purely a temporary fix. Labour provided a period of unsustainable growth marked by the highest level of household debt ever seen in Britain, it deregulated the banks to a level that had not been seen before and stupidly devolved the Bank of England, which could have saved us from such a downturn under the old system. Thanks to Brown, we are now sitting on an economic timebomb.

  • nope recession began with Clinton's WTO and Prodi EU, both from left sides.

  • And Europe had its main responsabilities in WTO letting in of China etc....... A kind of comunist market... a crazyness that we all see.

  • People, who were laughed at couple of years ago for predicting this crisis (Petter Schiff, Ron Paul), are now saying that this crisis will be much worse, because it is being cured with the very same thing that caused it - printing money and debt. I believe them, but I pray they are wrong.

  • Freatork, printing money is not "growth", stocks going up in devalued pounds is not 'growth". If you think this is a recovery I'd hate to see what you call an onrushing depression...

  • Much love for Ireland telling EU where to stick it

  • Ireland all the way! Here's to you Hannan Laddy!

  • I want him running MY country.... If only he was born in america lol

  • Obama paved the way for non citizens to win the Presidency.. Mr. Hannan doesn't even need a real birth certificate!

  • You may be onto something there, jolly! lol! I'd vote for him (Hannan, that is)!

  • I agree that the stature of these proud and great countries (that would want to vote 'no') would be diminished if they acquiesced.

  • The bit about the British Empire was a bit distasteful.

  • True, nonetheless

  • Congratulations to the guy who always sits next to Hannan and claps when he's done.

  • which constituents does that man represent?

  • SE England

  • I thought that was daniel Hannan who is South East england

  • It is.

HE does believe in Democracy though which is why he's hoping my country won't cave to EU pressure.

    5* Dan!

  • Some Ind/Dem member, I think they all sit together, the onl group worth watching...lol

  • Hannan likes Ron Paul but i don´t think they are very similar. I don´t think Paul shares Hannan love for Thatcher (and Reagan). Both Hannan and Farage are "thatcherists"

  • Agreed. I'm more in tune with the Reagan/Thatcher school of thought, and Ron Paul is quite a different sort from them. I do like Mr. Paul, and I agree with him on many issues, but just as often have to ask myself what the hell he's talking about. On the other hand, I don't have any significant disagreements with anything I've heard from Mr. Hannan thus far.

  • Ron Paul did like Reagan! They admired each other

  • Rather Ron Paul liked the way Reagan campaigned.

  • I think Ron Paul recognised how powerless Reagan ended up being in the face of Congress

  • That very well may be.

  • He won some converts from the controlling dem. congress and Tip O'Niell, they were later referred to as Reagan Dem's, he was able to get his agenda through based on the conservative democrats splitting with the left wing of the party. God Bless Ron Paul! How many people have to croak before he get's a crack at the presidency?lol (I know, petty dark humor...lol)

  • On the ball! Dan,

This is exactly what some imagine will happen.

    Many thanks for posting

  • The EU is protectionist.

  • The EU is the anti-thesis of free trade.

  • as far as i know, Daniel Hannan and the UKIP strongly oppose protectionism

  • The Lisbon Treaty is as tepid as the algarve itself.

  • We truly need someone like Mr. Hannan in America right now! God bless you, Dan!

  • you have Ron Paul there

  • you have. ron and rand paul

  • I personally don't care if he was the party waterboy. Mr. Hannan has a deep understanding of the principles of freedom and liberty. The more people we can find like him the better.

Hell if I could find the American version of DH, I would be sending money for the campaign election already.

  • try ron paul or peter schiff

  • The American version is Ron Paul.

Unfortunately, he was mocked, ridiculed and mostly ignored during the primaries and his 30 plus years in congress.

If you want to make a stand for the principles of freedom and liberty then join the Campaign for Liberty.

  • He had a tremendous success in spreadind liberty and the constitution to thousands around the world... Your first description of him is that a phew collectivists mocked him? Watching too much TV maybe...

  • I did not say he wasn't successful in spreading the message, that he did, so his presidential campaign was very successful in that regard.

More than a few collectivist did their job well to keep him from being elected. And no thanks, I don't watch very much tv.

  • khirg - Ron Paul is the real thing. One day, maybe DH can become a new Ron Paul.

  • Hannan is the British version of Dr.Ron Paul.

  • @danbowski40 he's an idiot.

  • @danbowski40 He doesnt seem crazy =/

  • WELL SAID.

  • I sure hope so too!

  • You're right dan !

  • Backdoor to centralization...

  • I love this guy, he's got cahoonas and i am American...if only we had some cahoonas up in Washington, we wouldn't be so depressed right now!

  • We have Ron Paul, and hopefully soon we'll hae Adam Kokesh

  • I'm in the South East, and come thursday I very well may be giving the tories a vote- albiet more for Mr Hannan than his party.

  • with a username like 'jeffersonian at heart' i'd hope you were voting for the tories non stop.

  • BNP is the way to go - avoid the 'two-party pardigm' like in america, it is the same people calling the shots behind both parties.

And to vote for conservatives just because of Mr Hannan is just senseless - putting it mildly.

  • The BNP? Absolutly not. Take your collectivist trash away. The BNP are nothing but the culmination of my two least favourite ideologies- Socialism and Ethnic Nationalism.

  • lol welll you show how retarded and desperate you are, with your intention to vote conservatives merely because Hannan is a decent guy - he is only a MEP - you do understand that dont you?.

    sigh.

  • If I had my way, we would be out of the EU.

However, UKIP are too weak to even consider.

At least Danial Hannan has some good, solid, freedom based principles behind him.

It''s purely a lesser evil vote. If it weren't for Hannan, I would spoil my ballot.

  • I wish that NATO would be dismantled, so that countries can get back on their own footing. Specifically the US Federal government These alliances cause us nothing but grief and as I see it have outlived their usefulness.

  • Hear hear!

  • Good speaking results when fact and logic are your bread an butter. Hear, hear!

  • Lol I love the dude sat next to Hannan at nearly every speech he gives :D

And then the sort of half assed clap he gave him...

  • keep at 'em Dan :)

  • I think if people could vote for your comment. Unlike Europe yours would get a YES vote every time

  • Yup :P

  • lol, i've had a similar success rate with my five star ratings for these videos.

  • Bring the banksters down....take all of your money out of the banks.

  • Might as well borrow some and clear out your overdraft at the same time :D
