@eddp777 Bikes are starting to come out with airbags now, the big ugly as fuck goldwing has had one for a while and i believe theyre working on smaller ones for smaller bikes. There is also an air bag suit around too. Best of all, if you trip it, all you need to do is replace the compressed air canister, not the whole fuckin thing.

You have a long way to go. The dude on the bike was playing with you for the first two gears. Then he walked away from you and gave the little bye bye look back. If he would have been full throttle from the start the race would have been a wate of video but the biker made it look better tha it trally was. You need a shit load motor work to catch that bike.

I would bet money on this car killing a lot of 9 second factory bikes from a roll. He just ran 9.6@156. Most 9 second bikes are still in the 140 range and 16 mph is a lot of mph to make up.
The bike doesn't always have the advantage. There are plenty of AWD and RWD cars being big bore bikes from a roll on the street. It takes a decent tire.
on the street the lighter vehicle all things equal has the advantage of trying to plant the power, on the street less is more. awd vehicles hook fine on the street , well so do shinko ultra softs , I know I hook as well as I do at the strip. the heavier the vehicle gets the more track prep it needs to plant all the power and an evo making 1000 whp needs track prep to plant all that power because even awd vehicles spin as evidenced by plenty of vids
yes that is true but a lower hp Evo doesn't need as much tire to get traction. That is why a lot of the shops have gone to gt35 style turbos from the gt42s because they are easier to drive. a 6765 in the awdmotorsports car went 8.75 this year.
I see your statement but disagree also. Think about a 400hp civic on the street, they blow the tires off of the car and can't hook, at the track they hook just fine.

The ZX-14 did not go full throttle at the start because it probably had the secondary flies pulled which makes it extremely easy to power weelie. Thats why i kept mine on. Had i been racing this EVO on my ZX-14, he would have been out of the picture in 3 seconds!
If you go to dragtimes dot c o m you will see 1 zx14 running 8.6 and he is highly modified. Is he the fastest one out there? Probably not but if you look at all of the number no one even comes close. It is hard to make up .3 to .9 seconds on a 9 second vehicle. Then look at mph, there are running between 145-155. Even this Evo as it sits now would kill all but one of those modified zx14's from a roll. He ran 9.6@156 which means by the end of the 1/4 he is pulling hard from behind.

You have named what 4 out of hundreds of bikes? I know enough about bikes and cars that I am not over confident like some people. Bikes are quick in a straight line because they are light and somewhat powerful but there is a reason why there are faster cars in the 1/4 mile, in the mile and at the salt flats, think about it.
Of course the reason is traction for the 1/4 mile and the effect of form drag for the salt flats hence the 200hp for the zx14- the more drag the higher the power needed to overcome it ,though it does go over 300kph- unrestricted. How many cars do that for under 200 k?How many cars go 0-100kmh in under 3 seconds?Its no use wanking off over a car that you or most people will never be able to afford to buy or insure.
You say traction in the 1/4. Explain why a 8.6 zx14 is gaining 28mph on the back half of the 1/4 mile and this car is gaining 41mph on the back half of the 1/4? That is drag and aerodynamics plus overall power. Bikes don't do too well at higher speeds. Don't get me wrong, bikes are a cheap and easy way to be really fast. I ride a bike to be fast in corners, our mountain runs.
Drag and aerodynamics are the same thing, your talking about form drag which increases with speed ,the average bike produces the same amount of drag as a 4 door sedan.2 tyres will get more power onto the ground than 1-its common sense and basic physics.
Knowing the unrestricted top speeds of the busa, zx14,blackbird,zzr1100 etc I would say that the big bikes do very well at high speeds.Its interesting that car fans always use bikes as a benchmark to prove how fast their cars supposedly go.

Ive beaten cbr600's and r6's with my buddys 499rwhp ls3 trans am. bikes get the jump but the trans am blows by at about 90-100mph and then the bikes become little dots until 170+mph. cars are way more fun and safer. dont have to constantly worry about some idiot pulling out in front of u on ur bike when ur going 70.
@dacptn im not what u would call an experienced rider. but i have been on some healthy machines before and i liked it. couple honda 600's,954rr's, one was bored out to 1100+ ccs with nos. Dont get me wrong they are fun. Dirt Bikes is more my thing tho. Dont need that risk my life top speed bullshit everytime i ride a bike cause u know u have to push it.plus bikes dont have the character that a car does.
