hey bro. When in production its best to keep your monitors(speakers) at ear level. Make sure the tweeters(the little speakers) are at the same height as your ears to get a better area of clarity to help you mix better, use some monitor stands or mount them on your wall making sure they from a triangle to your average mix position. Just some advice that helped me.
Hey, No i use Numark TT-500's and a DM1002mkII mixer. The TT1625 are belt drives so i dont recomend getting them. Look on ebay for gear if you want to start. Thats what i did :)
geez umm the decks ike $500 AUD cos they're 2nd hand, the mixer was $220 AUD and vinyl is i have no idea how much lol vinyl cost the most though! what do you use?
Also if i may just ask for your help? Umm i was just wondering if you could give me some points, tips or help on starting out a producing career and also how i would best go about getting a gig in a club maybe one day in future when i get better?
ur not 2 bad. ur really light handed witch isnt a good thing. my advice is get a pair of technics mark 2s. and either a djm 600 mixer or a numark5000fx. and mix with the fader and not channels.
the channels are handy 2 use coz u can bring it in without it being to loud straight away. but with the right mixer can you have wicked faders with curves on them. the best fader ive ever used is on the numark5000fx. and when you bring the fader over it flows in nice and u can tell if its gonna get louder so if it is simply just turn the gain down and move the fader the same time so u dont lose volume. and start playing something harder.
Yeah i really want a numark5000fx and here in Aus they are cheaper than ever at the moment like $800 AUD. Yeah my gear aint the best but i need more money.
itz a good m,ix but l dnt like ya mixa n y dnt u go with denon decks dere much more betta dere a bit expensive but u get betta quality okz man l will sucsribe n see wat u will do wif ya dekz n ya mixa
Yeah i'd love to get better gear but im only a student and i have little money. This is my 1st set up im only a beginner so yeah i work with what i have.
look up a track called the darkside by the alpha twins. this is propa hardstyle. and check out my vids and theres a track called ping pong dynamicdj. il throw u a copy if u like it. but u will need a cdj
Yeah ive heard Darkside its a wicked tune. Also loved that track ping pong it was awesome id love a copy thanks heaps mate :) I plan to get cdj's next hopefully
Much respect to you for using 12" vinyls. I notice you do a lot with the individual faders as opposed to the crossfader. I prefer that method as well. I only use the crossfader to fade out the other record. Awesome job on your mix.
Thankyou very much :) Yeah i use the channel faders i like it a lot more i dont know why though lol. I barely use my crossfader but for some reason its already starting to bleed, its weird. So thats another reason i use the channel faders. Thankyou for your comment and opinion.
Ah... heh damn you have same naming on the mixes. Hmms De is the place for harder music and bestclip would seem like that it gathers best clips on net and your is there... dammit you ;)
haha cool i guess i wish i could read german lol you have some links on your mixes too tho ;) i wonder who put me on their links especially on bestclip
Hehe no idea who has put those... if you wanna translate the comments you might use the altavista babelfish translator from german to english. Also that orkut thing would be intresting to see what kind of site is that.
Nice your mix is getting some outside links. Seems hardstyle is somekind of fashion now or something, my hardstyle mixes are also linked somewhere outside youtube.
The first song sounds alot like a record I have. It has the same sample in it. The song was by the artist Gringo. Song name is Homage. I think it was a whitelabel. The song is over 3 years old. Anyways great mix.
Different track selection then the others in the contest. I don't understand why these genres are constantly renamed. This "hard style" music just sounds like the hard trance and gabba that was popular in the US in the late 90s just as "freeform" is really just psytrance to my ears. Just having a rant, interesting mix, not really my thing but I'm glad I had a listen.
Yeah thats cool im glad you looked. Well from what i know Hardstyle came out of the Gabber from the early 90s, I guess you could say it kinda evoulved i guess, its not as fast but is as it says more Hard i guess??
In my opinion Gabba was much harder then this actually. Are you familiar with Mokem, Industrial Strength, and Rotterdam Records? They put out some really wicked stuff in the early 90s! Also this hardstyle stuff shares much in common with the sort of stuff Music Man Records put out in the early 90s. Check out Cosmotrash "Cosmotrash" on Music Man if you can get it. The Lenny Dee mix of Cosmotrash is the best but its hard to find, I still can't find a copy.
Im sorry i know nothing about gabba really i was really young when it was big. Im only 15 so yeah i sorta didnt live during the time when gabba was big. Thanks but i'll check it out. Personally i like trance and Har trance most but im tryin to do all different genres :)
yeah em.. ok i realized i already said that. thought my post wasn't posted 8) but jungletekno i like it that you seem to know what you are talking about!
Dude you have some strange power in you. Last time I said wish my cd player would come soon it came that day. Today said that hope the new cd is coming soon and well today it was in my mailbox.
Hardstyle has been lately THE style for me. And in this mix there are no big problems so it sounds nice so it's nice to listen. Get couple more tunes and make mixtape so I can have good music in my car to listen. :)
When i get some tunes but i havent decided what to get?? Im leaning towards Hard Trance and some Hardstyle to act as a peak but i dont know. I still like some Progressive
Awesome mix mate! I'm jealous. You are good no doubt about that. As constructive advice I could say that you could have dropped the voodoo people bit earlier. I see you took my advice on faders ;) You seemed like you have been doing this for years.
