@algierssolja Just because they make money off people who have cancer doesnt mean they are happy that people do have it. They are raising awareness in a manner that grabs peoples attention. This dance isn't only done by the cancer ward, its the whole hospital which helps all sorts of people and their illnesses. I get where your coming from but come on, even if people didnt have cancer they would still get money from other things like dumb drunk drivers getting in crashes.
@algierssolja Hospitals and other providers are losing money on cancer treatments. I am in the medical field and recently heard of one provider who spends $1.2 million dollars on cancer drugs monthly. The insurance reimbursement doesn't even touch that, especially if the patient has Medicare or Medicaid. He is to the point where he has to take out loans to pay his employees. So please, don't think the doctors are running around singing "I'm in the money"..Because in reality, they aren't. :)

Dutch doctors and female nurses have excellent skills and give certain quality in hospitals. AMC is one example but sometimes the male nurses have a bad reputation. Once in the News 3 male Dutch nurses from Groningen have given AIDS to partners. All information was kept secretly on the Dutch News. Lot's of male nurses are gay in the Netherlands. Honesty not standing for what they are and is kept secret. Don't like the Idea that some male nurses with HIV/AIDS is still working in the Hospitals.

I fully support this cause but I just wish it wasn't so, well, pink. My grandpa was diagnosed with breast cancer just a couple of weeks ago. He is one of the most honorable, manly men I have ever known. It makes me feel like he is dying of some kind of feminine disease.
@MsNinjaginja Well, and don't get angry with me, it seems that someone (who knows who...) has designated certain colors for certain cancers. Prostate cancer is blue, breast cancer is pink, there's a yellow in there somewhere, and even purple. I think that breast cancer is pink because it is, or used to be, a predominately 'female' disease. Now we know that's not true, but that doesn't mean that your grandfather is less manly because he's got it. A disease can only take from you what you let it.
@MsNinjaginja I don't like how pink is being used to represent this cause either, it makes people think breast cancer is strictly a female disease. It's NOT, far from it, lots of men are diagnosed every year with breast cancer. I know it's certainly not as much of a risk to men as testicular cancer is, but men still need to be aware of it and know how to check their chest area and when they should see a doctor, just like women do.
@thewr0ngchild I totally agree that men need to be aware. At first we denied it. What were the chances of a man getting breast cancer? Turns out the chance is not as low as we had originally thought. There are even some insurance companies that won't insure male breast cancer, such as Medicaid. People need to realize that men are at risk as well, not as much as females, but they still need to give self-checks and the whole spiel.
@MsNinjaginja My condolences about your grandfather, but what's wrong with the disease being seen as feminine? Is being feminine a degrading thing? No it's not. It just so happens, mostly women have this illness. So that's kind of what it revolves around. Although your grandfather is just as supported as any woman with this disease. @MsNinjaginja Pink only recently became a feminine color. Before the 20th century, baby boys were dressed in pink because it was a form of red which was a "strong" color. Your grandpa is a strong man.

In response to MsNinjaginja, First of all, my deepest sympathies for your grandfathers diagnoses of breast cancer, I understand what you are going through as I have lost loved ones( male and female) to this horrible disease. What you do need to understand though, is that up until a few years ago, Breast Cancer WAS considered a " WOMAN'S" Disease, there were few men who were diagnosed with it.Unfortunately,Cancer does NOT discriminate and will affect anyone.That is why the video is so "PINK"

I fully support this cause but I just wish it wasn't so, well, pink. My grandpa was diagnosed with breast cancer just a couple of weeks ago. He is one of the most honorable, manly men I have ever known. It makes me feel like he is dying of some kind of feminine disease.

@MsNinjaginja Well, and don't get angry with me, it seems that someone (who knows who...) has designated certain colors for certain cancers. Prostate cancer is blue, breast cancer is pink, there's a yellow in there somewhere, and even purple. I think that breast cancer is pink because it is, or used to be, a predominately 'female' disease. Now we know that's not true, but that doesn't mean that your grandfather is less manly because he's got it. A disease can only take from you what you let it.

@MsNinjaginja I don't like how pink is being used to represent this cause either, it makes people think breast cancer is strictly a female disease. It's NOT, far from it, lots of men are diagnosed every year with breast cancer. I know it's certainly not as much of a risk to men as testicular cancer is, but men still need to be aware of it and know how to check their chest area and when they should see a doctor, just like women do.

@thewr0ngchild I totally agree that men need to be aware. At first we denied it. What were the chances of a man getting breast cancer? Turns out the chance is not as low as we had originally thought. There are even some insurance companies that won't insure male breast cancer, such as Medicaid. People need to realize that men are at risk as well, not as much as females, but they still need to give self-checks and the whole spiel.

It just so happens, mostly women have this illness. So that's kind of what it revolves around. Although your grandfather is just as supported as any woman with this disease. Sorry you don't like pink...
