Extender is a paint medium. It allows the paint to remain wet for a longer period of time. With acrylics this is the secret to making them work like an oil. I am such an impatient artist! My work in pencil is this painstaking, but I have to admit that I would start to pull out all of my hair by layer number two! I am saving this to my play list because it is such an excellent video. One day, I hope to spend as much time on my acrylics as my drawing. Loved this. Beautiful work.
