I feel sorry for all the people throughout the history of time who never heard about Jesus. They immediately went to Hell regardless of being a decent human being, according to your beliefs, just because they didn't know who Jesus was.

I think that Newt Gingrich displays his opinions eloquently, because Republicans consider foreign policy a lot. It isn't odd for Hitchens to be seen with Gingrich. Hitchens often sat on roundtables with Pat Buchanan, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle. And in any case, if Gingrich does seem rational here, remember that he believes different things depending on the time of day and who's paying him.
I think Pat Buchanan is an even worse misfit in that list than Newt. Newt may not be a Hitch, but for a politician he's pretty well read. Put any other recent republican candidate next to Hitch and they'd look like a joke.

I am going to make a very simple statement, we have gone to war, on something that:
1. has bankrupt our economy
2. has killed far more people in itself than 9/11
500,000 people in the US die from heart disease EVERY YEAR and we want to go to war at the cost of the previous facts because 3,000 were killed in 9/11. It isn't odd for Hitchens to be seen with Gingrich. Hitchens often sat on roundtables with Pat Buchanan, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle. And in any case, if Gingrich does seem rational here, remember that he believes different things depending on the time of day and who's paying him.
