my first experience with CXS was a few years ago (fortress in flames/shadowbox tour) at a venue in Nashville, TN. i got into a discussion about the movie "joe vs the volcano" with this guy, and we talked for about 45 min before he politely excused himself. as i walked back into the club, it dawned on me that i had been speaking to rogue. 3 years later, they come back to nashville, and i am there. not only did he recognize me, he reminded me of that conversation. this is a truly EPIC band
It WAS an amazing show... These guys rock my face! The year before, my little sister couldn't go to DragonCon at the last minuet, so I had Rogue call her... Not only that, but I got to the front during the show [again 2007, even though I was in the front for this one too, and I saw my huge head on the Immortal tour video], and he sang into the cell phone on stage... Still haven't found video of that, but it's something she and I will never forget! :P
Such an amazing show. I got the luck of meeting both Rogue and David earlier that afternoon, and I'll agree with most of the other posters here; never have I known a band so dedicated to their fans in every possible way.
Rogue was so sweet. He took the time to get down and talk to my 5 year old after the show, and sang to her during the show. Doesn't matter who you are, he will hold a conversation with you, and treat you like the most important person in the world.
He could recite from a phone book, and I'd support him.
i really like the fact that they don't have a space of 50 ft. between stage and crowd. They really get close to their fans, and the crowd just act so cool with it. (i hate the whole fan girl/starstruck crowd happening) and they are so friendly^^ I love the CXS! I hope i can see them live in Europe this year ... if they will come.
Having been into this band for several years, and seeing them at D*Con for several years as well, I can pretty much guarantee whomever is watching this that you will never find such amazing individuals as you will in this band.
Live videos don't so them any kind of justice. I was at this show, and it was far more energetic than this video shows.
heh, I asked Jess about this at their show here back in December, and she said "Yes, they do look a little odd, but they really DO keep my feet warm. You'd be surprised how drafty it can be on stage sometimes!"
I got to take pictures with Rogue at Dragoncon! My friend and I found him talking with these two girls in the press and after they left we asked him for pictures and not only did he do that but he signed my death note and hugged us! Rogue ROCKS!!! He was so nice too. The concert was outta sight.
My friends and I went to lunch with CXS and their crew on Tuesday after Dragon*Con, and before we knew it, the band had picked up the entire tab and declined my attempt to help cover it. (!)
Really?! That is so awesome! It really doesn't surprise me though..when I was distraught because of losing my wallet, falling down the escalator and being stranded because of Gustave, Rogue was a real help...he talked to the cops for me when they didn't take me seriously
One of the "CXS fairies," a girl, was, for lack of a better phrase, 'beaten up' during the show this year at Dragon*Con. After the show she was distraught and crying, and Rogue was talking to her and doing his best to calm her down in the 'backstage' part of that side corridor. He can be very focused on an upcoming performance, but he can also be one of the kindest souls you'll ever find.
