I thought Lucario's situation was unique, however, since he can charge while in midair and his charging Aura sphere creates it's own hitbox. It allows the trick to be used in ways other that simply reversing an attack. Therefore, I felt this video was warranted.
@BoltFraction also there is the fact that Lucario has the ability to revert his jump and land at the take off point. unless i'm mistaken he is the only one who does this with their B reversal, i think it's somewhat because of the blowback when he shoots his aura sphere
With some practice, you can use other character's reverse B moves to jump and land in the same spot (Captain Falcon's reverse pawnch comes to mind, but it's very slow, turning and travelling in a wide arc. It's possible, though). I was just showing all the effects I found with Lucario at the time. Keep in mind, this video is nearly two years old!

@useraccount333 Lucario is the only thing i've ever liked on pókemon. The movie was good because of its seriousness and all that kind of stuff. I've never liked pókemon just because of its happiness and repeating story - 75% of all episodes are the same battling and ash tend to almost always win, no matter what.
I tend to agree - I found Lucario's movie was one which actually focussed on the Pokemon - Lucario - rather than having him simply act as a supposrt character for Ash and having everything end up as another warm, fuzzy friendship story/lesson/speech.

Actually, Lucario seems more like a fox. Take a look at his black, thin legs. The look very similar to a red foxes. And his ability to change direction in midair is another thing, as foxes can do that with their tales. The ears seem a bit fox-like, too.
Yes, but only Lucario has a damaging, cancelable neutral B move, which broadens the spectrum over which the technique can be used. (ie.) offence vs just turning around.) Lucario is also the only one who displays the unique reverse jump while doing this.
Overall, the technique actually has practical applications with Lucario, hence the reason I created this video.
It's hard to control two players at once, and I didn't have anyone on hand to help me at the time. In a few examples, the computer is set to "attack".
Keep in mind this is a very old video, and I've come up with better ways to use the technique since then. This video was mainly just a how-to rather than an actual offensive/defensive guide.
I was just playing around with this tactic using Brawl's training mode (because you can control the time with that mode), and you can do the reverse sphere without the shield button. Simply B and the other direction.
I don't believe I ever said you needed the shield button to do this - I just use it to cancel the charge in midair or on the ground if I don't want to fire the Aura Sphere off right away.
Well, the start of the video teaching you how to use it tells you to use B and Shield together. But yeah, like you say, it's handy to cancel it before letting loose.
Well, that's what I get for using GC controllers and not the Wiimote. Add it to the fact my internet can't handle High Quality YouTube and you've got confusion for me.

Anyway, I'll share one of the more useful maneuvers I've found with this technique.
For an appproach: Short hopped forward air, then a Reverse Aura Sphere. If your forward air hits, your opponent will likely get caught in the charging Aura Aphere for extra damage. If they block it, you can now fire the partially charged Aura Shpere at them in defense (since you reversed your direction in mid air).
Actually, every character besides Sonic and one other person(I forgot who) and do the exact same trick with the same effects as you showed in the video.
The most obvious one is, of course, the reverse falcon pawnch
All other characters can turn with a B attack, but Lucario is the only one who can reverse the jump. Plus his neutral B is the only one with idle offensive capability.
The trick is just that with any other character - a trick. With Lucario it can actually be implemented smoothly into his gameplay, so it's a technique.

That's two versions of the same button; the B button for both the Wii and gamecube controllers have different designs, so I included them both.

This video actualy needs an update. I've found much more practical uses for the Reverse Aura Sphere than what's shown here.
