and yes u can drop an eclipse engine in the talon or eather way as long as they use the same engine, if is a 420a even a dodge neon engine will fit in talon or eclipse, if the eclipse u father wrecked it's non turbo need to get a talon non turbo simply 420a, a talon esi or eclipse rs-gs, if the eclipse is a gs-t/gs-x u can fit your motor in a talon tsi, but if the eclipse u have is non turbo it means u have the 420a motor, if the talon is tubo its a 4g63, sell the eclipse, rebuilt the talon eng
the fwd tsi is just an eclipse gs-t, same motor 4g63, and the awd talon tsi is just an eclipse gsx, although the talon is a little lighter i would pick the eclipse anyday,. it's like the dodge stealth turbo it's a mitsubishi motor in it bu i always go for the 3000gt vr-4, as long it has a mitsubishi motor 4g63 in eclipse or talon, or a 6g72 24valves dohc twiturbo or turbo on 3000gt and stealth u are good, the 420a motor made by chrysler is sh!t, it's just a neon engine, not realible..go mitsu
The 420A is just a shit neon motor huh? Thats funny. Mine has outlasted 4 of my friends cars who Ive helped replace their blown up 4G63s with just around 140k on them. My 420A has almost 200,000 on the stock block, WITH cams and a standalone FMU using a very aggressive spark map. Not to mention the fact that I have walked modified 4G63 powered cars at the track. Typical ignorant 4G63 owner.

Honestly, its just what your preference is. They are identical in almost every way. You can even buy a talon and make it an Eclipse in every way except the title name. I personally dont like Talons. To me, an Eclipse is Fruit Loops, and a Talon is that generic "fruity tooty" shit you buy at walmart.

Not everybody races from a stop. Alot of people race from a roll, and FWD is the perfect option. Even if you race from a roll it's not all bad, you could put a dual stage boost controller to limit boost in the first gear, which help minimize wheel spin. DSMlink makes a stutterbox that comes with a dual stage boost controller just for FWD DSM's. If AWD was dominant, wouldn't they make ever high performance car one?
It doesn't matter if you're racing from a roll, FWD will always be shit at high power levels. Take two TSi both modded exactly the same and at 600 whp but with one AWD and one FWD and race from say a 40 roll. I can almost guarantee you the AWD will be pulling almost instantly.
Just like h23 said, an automatic FWD TSi is a waste of money.
Because once you're already going, and traction isn't as much of a concern, the extra weight of the AWD is going to help it pull faster from a roll, right? Wrong.
