I want a video SLR set up, so far i gathered the canon 60d 18-200 lens, 3 point continues soft box light set up seems the right way to go, can you advise me on any of this gear,
im shooting a music artist with a green screen background, gonna shoot outdoors as well later but its mainly for music videos.
Hey dude .. I was thinking of buying the Nikon Coolpix L120 DSLR .. I'm really into sunsets and sunrise -landscapes really .. So do you reckon that would be the right camera for me? It's 14 MP and has 21x Optical Zoom x x
Finally someone has it right. Yes who the hell needs these HUGE MP DSLR's. BTW is that a pokadotted robe your wearing? Ya got nerve I'll give ya that much! Anyway, yes anything more the 10 - 12 is overkill. It's all about lens and depth of field. Everything else is NUTS. The point being with computer manipulation software you can fix or change or enhance just about any photo taken to the point of adding everything fro light to shadows to even color or fixing a blemish. Use your eyes not cash.
Now i know that i'm probably gonna be slaughtert for saying this, but chose my Alpha 350, as my first Dslr, because of the in-house steady shot, witch makes the lenses cheaper. Just thought i wanted to share it as an advice for those looking for their first dslr.
if you were to choose between the canon 7d or the nikon d300s, what will you choose?... coz as of now im still confused what to buy.. please i need your expert opinion...
@golotoi i would go with the canon 7d but that is cos i like a lot of video. but i also have the nikon d300. anytime i am doing photos that require flash stuff i go with nikon, if i am doing video or landscapes canon .
hi ya there, m a new with camera stuff, i always wanted a camera and m goin to buy it soon finally, i was hopin to have an advice from you about it ...wat would suite me da best...thanks.

hi there, your vids are great, im getting started in the photography business and i am buying a d300 but i need advice on what lenses to buy, i want to do portraits and weddings, what could you recommend? i have a total of £2500 including camera. please help. thanks
it's really a personal preference between nikon and canon. More important than the bodies are the lenses you get. If I were you I would save up a bit more and get a nikon d90. Huge difference, the nikon d60 doesn't have AF capabilities in body so certain lenses won't autofocus. That's my opinion, dombower might have different advice and he's more experienced than me so take his.
and for sports... well that totally matters on the kind of sports, is it far away or close up fast or slow? check out dpreview for more camera reviews
Thanks again :) i just ordered a 500d anyhow:) Took some time, think i'll try it out:) Anyway, first lens i'll be buying is 500d, and it'll mostly be skiing, downhill mountain biking kind of sports :) cheers

And now the Canon 1D Mk IV and Nikon D3s can have a maximum ISO of 102400.....but definitely not worth it for any image.

Would you recommend canon 450d or nikon d60 for just general portrait photos, macro photos and (not professional) the occasional sports photos?

a good 50mm for portraits,
