yeah acting was poor, erm like in bit where the ex is choking the guy... i mean come on he slowly gets off the bed? seriously, to make that bit realistic, you should have jumped off the bed as fast as you can and probably knocked off a table lamp too... and why is he sleeping a. in a day time.. and b. in a 101 dolmation cover? - not very horor like... andanyways the way you shown the "new relationship" they lay in park meter away from eachother.. thats not "love" like
well, can't rely on my opinion on horror movies since "the grudge" and "the Ring" made me laugh as well (am talking about the real movies, yup, me not the horror movies type)
I loved the intro, it was interesting, had some mystery in it
and as the case of your other film, amazing job editing, directing and shooting! I love it!
but U gotta increase the volume a little, it wasn't easy to hear the actors talk
Very Good opening scene. I thort the scene in the bedroom when the guy was in bed was too dark. I dident really know what was happening at the time. But other than that i think it was very good. I am doing a project at school which has a story line that is similar to this one.
Very Well Done :):)(Ill be sure to check out your other films)
I agree with wildice. The first scene was good. Here's my problem with it. You came up with a good concept but you didn't know how to follow through. There's a structure in telling a story. Every story, no matter how long or short it is, there's a beginning, middle and an end. Yours has a beginning, that's it! Before even shooting a film, you have to devote your time into writing a good screenplay. Unless your completely satisfied with the script, you do not move on to anything else.
thanks commenting! I really appreciated your advise and will definitely think about it next I do some filming. Check out my other videos! Tell me what you think about them.
I have to say I really enjoyed it! You did a very good job. The story is a very strong part of this movie. Next time you can experiment more on the look of the movie, for example color correction, add some VFX.
I know how hard it is to come up with something good. You succeeded.
you could've done something better... the first scene was, for me, the nicest and cleanest scene ever in the whole movie... But it is lacking of originality...
This film was well done. I think the voice overs could have been a little better but then again i think they fit into this movie very well. I Also find myself making films and people think that they resemble other films when i havent even seen them. Im working on a horror film myself. The only part i didnt like was in the bed. All the others were well done. What type of camera do you use? And by the way im going to subscribe so if you have any other short films comin up ill be sure to watch.
This means to a lot to me. I used an old Sony DV camera to shoot this one...forgot the model number. I have just finished writing the script for my new film, so I will post something up my channel in the next 3-4 weeks. Tell me your thoughts on my other films! I am looking forward to your short.
Some good shots. The editing could be tighter in places and you could have done with some lighting. A slight spot fill on the actors in the darkness would have enhanced it more. I agree with pablopatrick, avoid voiceovers to explain your film.
thanks for your comment. Yes, I do agree with you and voiceovers should be avoided. I had to grin at the lighting in this film because I tried to light up the set using two lightbulbs...apparently it didn't worked well. Again, thanks for your comment. Watch my short films! I look forward to reading your comments!
What do you think about Hong Kong film directors (Pang Brothers) Danny Pang and Oxide Pang Chun? Did you watch The Eye ? I am a big fan of their films. How hard was it to make
those films and what kind of camera do you use. btw you are a great director keep up the good work
I haven't had a chance to watch the Pang Brothers' film, but they are definitely well-known here. But now you mentioned it, I will definitely look for their DVD and watch their films. I use a SONY HDR-HC1E camera to shoot my films.
It looks like a copy of Ju-on: The Grudge by Takashi Shimizu and Hideo Nakata Ringu. But there are some good camera movements. Try making more orginal stories.
The background sound..well I recorded some of the sounds, the others I searched up the internet for sound effects. As for the rest, there is a CD sound library in my school that have random sounds like ringing phones..etc
