  • How do people run with Sunglasses?

  • If he didn't slow down he probably could've beat Michael Johnson's world record!

  • the 400m= closet thing to hell on earth

  • @MileHighCrusin303 the 400 hurdles= definitely hell on earth

  • @puljacina Not if you are a seasoned athlete who specializes in the 400m hurdles.

  • Damn sunglasses on thats swag >_>

  • beautiful effortless stride , no dip at the finish . . so closed stride , dip at the finish , i see the world record .. just saying , i think he'll break the WR in London this year , hands down . .

  • hell hes not even breathing hard, I'd be puking by the camera guy at the end.

  • I don't Wariner will be in this kind of shape ever again...

  • @F6SuperTornado08 you're right , he'll be better . .

  • @phastman99 Unless I am very much mistaken, the big Jamaican sprinter has no plans to compete in the 40om at next year's Olympic Games.

  • @phastman99 [Continuing on from my previous 'post' about Usain Bolt]: a decision to start training seriously for that event after next year's London Olympics. The excellent Michael Johnson has certainly said - on more than one occasion - that Bolt is so gifted that he is capable of becoming the world record holder in the 400 metres (as well as in the two sprint events).

  • @phastman99 Yes ... but whether the big Jamaican is potentially capable of running the 400m in less than 43.18 - and thus breaking Michael Johnson's world mark - is a different matter. Personally, I think that the Good Lord put Usain Bolt on this earth to run the 100 and 200 metres - those are the two events which come most naturally to him.

That said, it is certainly not outside the bounds of possibility that he will be able to run the 400 in less than 43.18 seconds - if he makes

  • white power!!

  • @volcomkiller22 hes mixed.....

  • i'd be happy running a 400 in 70 seconds

  • jeremy is so doped

  • That dude Semenya doesn't seem to have a problem with the 800!:)

  • lol.. they look really slow compared to usain bolt

  • @unknowntiger300 this is 400m run your not sopposed to go all out like usain your sopposed to pace your self

  • @SactosBomb123 lol i know that i was just saying though, oh yeah u can go all out on 200m run too

  • @SactosBomb123 hardly "pacing" yourself. even at the collegiate level, you run a 400 at about 95%.

  • wow... i'd be happy with 1:10

  • how the heck do u stay on the lane!!!!!!!!

  • @DemonFox369 It's easy really, not as hard as it may seem :P

  • @DemonFox369 By having basic coordination...

  • wariner hasn't come close to this time since. neither has anyone else. MJ's WR is secure for a while, i think.

  • @cobrien1977 until Kirani James reaches his prime at least. He's only 18 and has run sub 44s.

  • @ScarrKnight : nope. only 9 guys have run sub 44 and James ain't one of 'em.

  • @ScarrKnight : i just checked. his PB is 44.61. not bad, but 1.5 seconds is an eternity in the 400m

  • @cobrien1977 what are you talking about? Wariner ran 43.45 at the World Championships in 2007 in Osaka. So how can his PB be 44.61?

  • @eljafigo : we were talking about James, not Wariner.

  • @eljafigo I think he was talking about Kiranni James

  • jeremy wariner's face is so calm!

  • Wariner looks like an 800 meter runner as he was powering down the straight. I think it's time for him to move up especially if he cannot regain his form in 2011.

  • @formanm19 last year Wariner peaked in late August (44.13), which is right around world championship time. He's not in 06/07 shape but don't give up on his 400m yet, I'm expecting a low 44 from him in Daegu

  • what was with the full body suit guy?

  • Badass, but why the fuck is he wearing a chain around his neck? That'd bother the hell out of me...

  • How the hell does he run so relaxed? He's just chilling...

  • Bob hayes and Wariner that would be a race

  • If Wariner would just take his steroids like everyone else, he'd go sub-43 for sure

  • WHITE GUUUUY

  • i ran 200 and 400 meter in high school, state three times, 7th and 3rd for my sophmore and junior years respectively. the 400 meter race is definately a serious run. i had 1 free hour a day and i would run 3 miles shower and go back to class and feel about the same as after a 400 meter dead sprint.

  • impressive white guy :D

  • the 400 hurdles must be amazingly difficult. i wanna try em

  • Chuck Norris can lap people in the 400m.

  • @ashtrayr wtf?

  • 400= mans race. period.

  • @crackersNmilk no 800 is the mans race

  • @in4mation011

400m,800m,400m hurdles, and steeple chase are man races.

  • he looks like eminem XD

  • 400m of pure hell...

  • @xxxSLITxxx haha you ran the 400 HUH anybody who duz this race just knows!! LMAO

  • @xxxSLITxxx Only the last 120m hurts! You hardly notice the first 200m you just have to get out fast and maintain the speed on the backstretch.

  • wariner always pull weh from merritt but nice run wariner

  • i have to run a 400 right after i run my 3200 :(((( lolz

  • @xXFredBurgerXx who cares... suck it up and just run.

  • @MichaelaLeach that's easy to say... :P

  • You people who are disgusted by the runners slowing down near the end of the race have no idea what the 400m is all about. There is no saving energy for a sprint at the end, it's 1 lap as fast as you can. You can't draft anyone, your lane is your lane. You can't sprint in the beginning you will burn up your sugar reserves and lactic acid buildup will fatigue you fast, you can't save up the energy for a last second sprint, you will lose, you have to just run a lap as fast as you can.

  • I wonder how a race of 400m between Michael Johnson, Jeremy Wariner, and Usain Bolt all at their peak performance would turn out. One can only imagine.

  • At one point or another I've been conditioned for both the 800 and 400m. 400 to a lot of people is hell. When you get conditioned for it though, it's not that bad you'll still be tired but you're not completely dead and can come back for more in ten or twenty minutes. 800 on the other hand.... I don't care how conditioned you are, you're gonna wanna crawl over and die.

  • @OHaaaiden i have run both of them at a high competetive level. u must be superhuman if u really can run 400m as fast as you can then come back and do more 20 minutes later. i find that my legs and shoulders burn for at least 20 minutes after and im not fully recovered until at least 1 hour- 1.5 hours after. could u tell me wot training u did in order to be able to recover so quickly please, i wold really appreciate it :D

  • @kezza454 Really it just depends on how your workouts are structured, everything you're able to do on meet days is determined by your preparation. The backbone of my workouts always includes multiple 300's/450's at high speed with adequate but limited rest, about 90% speed and 5-8 minutes of rest. Training sucks but if you can get you're strength up it's well worth it, I've actually managed to run 3 400's in one meet at 52 or faster, all of them within a timespan of an hour or so.

  • @OHaaaiden Haha so true

  • @OHaaaiden perfectly said

  • @OHaaaiden i couldnt agree more. Im an ex 400m who converted to the 800m in 2007. 400m sometimes don't sting as much when your are ready (though they do still sting a bit). Even after being well adjusted to the 800m they hurt like hell, (tactical races not so much though).

  • @OHaaaiden watching my teammates run the 800 and then come off the track is like watching dead men walk....

  • Ha, well here's my favorite difference in the two races: directly after. Guy wins a big 400 race he'll look like Usain Bolt, whooping and hollering and awww hell yeah. Guy wins a big 800 race, he looks like he despises his entire existance. Puts on the classic "Don't you effing talk to me" face and jello-walks his way to the team tent.

  • @OHaaaiden So, it seems like you never ran a real 400m race. If you do it right,..you are completely dead. You just ran to slow if you are not... ;-)

  • @OHaaaiden Well not exactly, really depends how fast you run your 400m...Just about everything in Track makes you want to crawl over and die. From 400m, to 800m to 400 hurdles, in general track is tough...

  • im in middle school track and i think the mile and 800 are the WORST races! They are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! I had to run the 800 today right after the 400 and I just about died

  • @mebehold Wait till high school where you start running the 3200 on the track.

  • @no3ggs4u ugh!!! That is like slaughter I feel sick after the mile i can just imagine 2miles..... :(

  • 400m is the hardest race ive ever done

  • I am still disgusted by the slow down at 370.

  • @TellingYouTwice Wariner didn't slow down at 370m, the fuck were you watching?

  • @phastman1994 Its been a while since I said this so I don't remember anymore. But I may have been talking about the rest of the pack.

  • @TellingYouTwice It's called lactic acid, they're not intentionally slowing down but decelerating.

  • @phastman1994 I know. But its also called heart. You gotta finish with everything.

  • @TellingYouTwice what makes you think there not finishing with everything? You can't exactly control deceleration. The only one that eased up slightly was Avard Moncur of Bahamas

  • I'm a 1600 runner, and middle distance is very difficult, but I have tremendous respect for 400m runners, its probably the hardest track event, other than the 400m hurdles of course, that race is death.

  • and here come the americans!

  • Nice calm face when he finishes. Ha ha. Everybody I see finish the 400 they look half retarded and like the were kick in the privets or something.

  • Being a white-boy Texan and a 400 meter runner myself, seeing something like this is fairly inspiring.

  • Chris brown Likes to run it run it!

  • I mentioned I found the 400 the most brutal out of the 400, 800, 1500. There was a specific reason for this. I was set to run the 800 one time at a meet and the 1500 at another. Each time the coach said I had to fill in four a 400m guy that was sick. The first time when the starter went off, I said holy sh_t. Where are these guys going! Second time the same thing happened only I knew what I was in for. Didn't help my finish, though.

  • @faunfoto1 Ya,omg I remember my first 400,like 8th grade. Coach is like your going to the 400. Im like a lap, sweet, this will be easy. He looks and laughs really hard. The gun goes of and everybody takes of im like what the hell. They go this fast for a whole lap. Ha Ha good times. Its good to at least know what your in for.

  • Wariner was not even peaked in this race. Now when he is back to his old coach, he is back for real. 2012 will be his year and a new WR. Mark my words!

  • Wariner is so relaxed even as he finishes. That's hard for the 400m.

  • Blitzes is a good verb.

  • The sun glasses are what makes Jeremy Wariner so damn fast... Those sun glasses man

  • wariner make merrit shit himself in this rite here

  • bui the 400m is a real man race if u een like the comment slide the hell out

  • Anyone out there ever run 400, 800, 1500, mile? I did and the 400 was def the most brutal.

  • @faunfoto1 no. the 800m or 1500m last longer and they are waaaaay more painful than a 400m, which only lasts for 55ish seconds for most people.

  • @faunfoto1 I dont know... for me the most brutal race is 600m indoors

  • @Dexterity64 To me the difference was how bad my ass hurt. Same level of exhaustion as a 400, but my ass would hurt. Thats a lot mental. Run a descent 400 time then another 200. Cinda of hard to get that state of mind.

  • @faunfoto1 400s are definitely damaging, used to run them in high school. but they were also my fave event :)

  • He has the relaxed style which allows more conservation of energy.

He might be able to go out faster and beat his records. I would experiment with the first 100 meters and explode..then relax then drift in.

He is a speed and power guy but he needs more speed to win the world record

  • Pure Fucking Muscle.

  • Wariner split 31.58 at 300 meters, and still ran the last 100 in less then 12 seconds. Makes me wonder what he could have run for 300 meters that day, maybe sub 31.

  • wat a nice sweep by the americans

  • I'm a sprinter and normally do the 100m and 200m along with the relays. I got a 52.7 first try in the 400m and its probably my favorite...Its fun to watch people die the last 100 meters lol

  • @junit4522 How old are you lol? My Sophomore year I ran a 52.1 So I'm just wondering but my 100 and 200 are 11.5 and 23.1

  • @DeathBringerI i did the 52.7 my sophomore year. i'm a junior now so it'll be interesting to see how i improved haha (if at all)

  • @junit4522

How did you run it so fast? I am a sophomore now and I know I can run it under a min.

  • @TheGatorRade lol i just ran dude. thats what i do. but all jokes aside i ran the same pace for about 300m then put everything i had left into the last 100m. it wasnt a whole lot but it was enough to win me that race.

  • @junit4522 dude just aim for a low 50 second time and prepare yourself for a sub-50 second 400 junior year.

  • @skateaz95 for sure man. thats what i'm goin for.

  • i actually think merritt was clean during his races. wariner lost only cause he sacked his coach but then of course he went back to hart.

  • They are so relaxed it's unbelieveable

  • This guy wouldn't want to face Tyson Gay in the 400

  • @jorgekluney Why? Wariner would kill Gay in the 400m, Gay's 44.89 is very impressive not being a 400m specialist (also making him the first person to go sub 10, sub 20 and sub 45) but thats no threat to Wariner. Wariner may have gone downhill but he's slowly coming back and recently ran a WL and SB of 44.13 in London this year, no way Gay could challenge him in 400m.

  • @phastman1994 I stand corrected

  • by the last 50 yeard i get smashed face hard core

  • para mi Messi corriendo le gana

  • ahaha sick suit lane 2

  • i dont think anybody understands really until the run the 400 dash how much of a grueling race this is. i ran the 800 and its only hard time i had in that is seeing someone pass me and sprinting that last 200.

  • now that he has coach hart back he should be able to start doing some amazing things like he used to. sucks that he pulled his hip flexor at usa nationals this year but he'll still be amazing

  • he can better during the end

  • I train the 400m a lot, but I'll never be this good. I do 400m hurdles too

  • Comment removed

  • @dunfor04 I never said anything against anyone..

  • i sprint the last 100 m of a 400 m race

  • @g5888anthony2

not good, ur supposed to have almost nothing left, just enough to finish strong. ur prob in last lol

  • @masterkdm i came in third i tried to sprint the last 100 but i went 70 m and i was goin the same speed as thwe guy in first near the end i stoped running hard when there was about 10m left and i got past b a tall guy and cam third

  • HES WHITE!

  • bolt ran like a 8.87 split in a 4x100

  • just so u guys know usain bolts record got broken already by tyson gay he ran a 9.69 100 meter

  • @467076 bolt ran a 9.58

  • @467076 ya and in that race he lost to Usain Bolt who ran a 9.58, Im a huge fan of Tyson but he lost to Bolt when he set that time.

  • 3rd fastest time in history - great run Jeremy.

    1) Michael Johnson 43.18

    2) Butch Reynolds 43.29

    3) Jeremy Wariner 43.45

  • Wariner may not be the fastest, but his consistency is amazing.

  • My coach always uses Wariner as an example of how to finish a race. Nice and relaxed, no form breakdown. Wonder if he can return to his gold medal form after returning to coach Hart...

  • Gotta love when people call Usain Bolt Lazy..so how does he run so fast and break those world records? Sitting on his arse? That is one STUPID THOUGHT and Comment. Nobody runs that fast being lazy

  • after bolt rebreaks his world records lol... he should focus on the 400

he could probably break the record

  • @mojomatt176 I'm definitely sitting on the edge of my seat to see at the next Olympics. Bolts WR 200 is great, but just barely faster than Michael Johnson, it would've been a camera finish if Johnson raced with him. Can Bolt muscle up for the 400? That is a great question and I can't wait to see.

  • @TheTruthHurtsYup -Bolt can be the first to triple! 100, 200,and 400 in the olympics!! He's capable if he trains the right way and waits for the olympics to compete in all 3. He doesn't have to break 3 world records at the olympics, just stay relaxed and win. His former 45 sec 400 meter time, was b4 he started breaking records! Mathematically, his 19.18 200, puts him at 41.86! (19.18 x 2, +3.2 sec (fatigue) He's got just over a second of wiggle room and remember, no one is pushing him!

  • I would love to see Wariner and merritt attempting to pass Bolt during last 150 of a 400 meter race. Does he have another gear if he's being pushed and he's "gassed" at the same time? Is his body too big to maintain control of the race?

  • @spiritbones

btw. ive heard bolt has had problems leaving the start because he is so tall, so it would be more advantegous for him to run 200m vs. 100m. But: 400m requires a whole different type of running, and any athlete will have to choose speed or endurance. one exception would be johnson, but probably wouldnt have done well on 100m. I dont think bolt will ever go below 44s, just as i dont think wariner would go below 20s. those are the hard facts.

  • @spiritbones You can't triple. There's a rule in the olympics that says a sprinter cannot run the 100, 200, 400 in the same meet, a mid distance runner with the 800m, 1500m and 3000m in the same meet, and a long distance runner with the 5000m and 1000m in the same meet. The only triple in the Olympics in track and field is the 5000m, 10000m and marathon but we all know bolt can't do that.

But I'm guessing his 400 time is 44 around there right now but we don't know bolt endurance wise.

  • @msflameboy -I wasn't aware of that, thanks for the info! It seems unlikely that he would ever give up the 100 or 200 in a big meet. Maybe at a low profile meet or something?

  • Comment removed

  • if he trained for the 400, i have no doubt he would break it, but i cant really see him doing that. he's lazy and he's having so much success in the 100 and the 200 that the only reason for him to do the 400 would be to hold every sprinting record.

  • with training he would break the record. the combination of his raw speed and his stride would be unstoppable.

  • Wariner needs to step it up again

  • @aznboi6846 yes....could be me but I think he goes out a little fast and alters pace as of late.

  • @aznboi6846 hey man hes white skinny, and not on roids...its hard, lol

  • bolt should try that distace!! he is competitive enought to do it

  • @raoulhery dude he started out as a 400 guy

  • @raoulhery his 400 time is 45.5 so he would be near the back

  • problem with todays competition is that it doesnt cut it to be just really good. all these people are really specialized, and if bolt were going to try 400m, he would have to give up 200m, because hed have to prioritize differently. and yes, there is a huge difference between how a person would run. there is a reason for example why wariner isnt running 200 or 800.

btw. bolt has actually ran that distance, but he says he doesnt like that distance that much.

  • those shades are cool

    but.........hilarious for a 400m

  • This is a real man race 400 meters of hell.

  • @UnknownProdigy28 the 800 is way way WAY more intense!

  • @UnknownProdigy28 im 11 i run track it is hard

  • @UnknownProdigy28 pfft try a 5,8 or 10k those races dug the pits of hell

  • @UnknownProdigy28

naw, that would be the 400 meter hurdles

  • @UnknownProdigy28 Hardest race in track. If people say track isnt a sport, tell me Jeremy W or Michael J are not athletes

  • @dspazz152 noo 800 sucks ass worst race in track which is why i do the 4 lol

  • @UnknownProdigy28 the marathon is 26 miles of hell... and the 2 mile is 2 miles of hell...

  • I wanna be like him lol I ran a 53 when I was 14 so hopefully i can get 10 seconds off!!!!! lol

  • If you were that you would be at nationals so stop lying to people who u dont know ( when everyone knows you are.)

  • Uh, You would NOT be going to nationals with a 53.

  • post a video or SHUT THE FUCK UP.

    NO ONE believes you

  • Gosh damn hatters lmao

I'm probably never gunna run that so calm down

But i plan on getting a 50 flat this year

  • 43.45 is 5th fastest time ever and Wariner is 3rd fastest person ever.

A sub 44 sec clocking is completely insane!

  • does it look like on the clock that it adds time on

  • Nodody cares you d bag

  • funny u say that. because there are millions of people out there that need to know bragging about something as retarded as track times at a certain age is useless because there is always someone better.

  • *except for the rediculously fast kid in india..............

  • who's that?

  • wow really?! hes going to the olympics for sure dude......haha

  • I hate the way the commentator says "Jeremy Wariner" over and over again..
