Im supposing a person with the "MSO" would just put "fake"(home made) plates on the car just to avoid getting pulled over every 6 miles and having to explain that they don't need registration.
We are not any safer for registering our cars. Do criminals register their cars if they're going to commit criminal acts in them? Do criminals register their guns when they're going to rob a bank? What it does is take away the freedoms of those who follow the rules to begins with. You don't have to trade liberty for security or you end up with neither.
isn't registering your car good for the community? it helps police do their job better which keeps us safe. So why would we want to live in a society that makes it easier for criminals? Ya the thought of not paying the government for registering your car sounds nice, but aren't we all safer for registering our cars? I guess like he said freedom is not free, so having that freedom you risk safety.
If I get the Manufacturers statement of origin for my car-what do I do next? If I drive a car without plates (Unregistered) I will get pulled over. What do I do? Once I've got the M.S.O. then what?
What a nice guy! He has already said that he doesn't have time to answer questions until the end but several people want to tell the entire class how to go about what he's teaching about or whether it will work in their state, etc...he just wants to shut them up but he waits so patiently. I wouldn't be so kind after starting out saying we don't have time!
@Gharalam My comment about Colorado registration fees is 100% accurate. "The major funding source of cash funds exempt is the Department’s share of motor fuel taxes and vehicle registration fees credited to the Highway Users Tax Fund (HUTF). The portion of the HUTF credited to the State Highway Fund (SHF) from these sources is projected to total $414.3 million in FY 2009."
I can't speak for Texas, but here in Colorado you only have to REGISTER a car if you intend to drive it on PUBLIC roads. If you only take it to track, or drive it on private property, or drive it off road, YOU DON'T HAVE TO REGISTER IT OR PAY ANY TAXES ON IT. Your registration is what pays for the public roads you are saying you drive on by registering your car. I don't see the problem.
Even if you own the car completely you can not drive it on public roads without a license and registrations because you do not own the road, the state owns the road and for the state to grant you the privilege to use the road you need to comply with the rules (the law) of the state (or person) that owns the road, you can however drive your car how ever you see fit on your property,
@xxDogsoldierxx In that instance I would think you would want to ask someone who knows how a MSO is created. I would think, logically, that as the manufacturer you have the sole right and responsibility to create the MSO for that car.
A Certificate of Title cannot be compared to a Gift Certificate. And the state is not co-owner of your vehicle. An MSO is not an ownership document so you must title in your name to officailly own the vehicle. Registration fees are not rent. They are to fund road maintenance. If you drive your car on your personal property you don't need to register it. But if you drive on public roads you need to pay your share for their maintenance. This guy is nuts!!!
Why is he so popular, you ask. Is he? Anyone can post videos on YouTube. The previous comment wonders why this guy doesn't get watched more. Well, that would be because he only appeals to the small segment of anti-government viewers.
Because of the 500 word limit, I will continue..................Why is he a teacher of a constitution class, you ask? Where does he teach? At a college? I doubt it. Anyone can rent space, advertise a subject and hold classes. If you try the stuff in this video you will either get a huge ticket or, worse, land in jail. Good luck with that!!!
Yes apparently look at the responses and look on the net...And there are other vids on here of him at a college and someone said this vid is a college too.
OK, you forced me to Google his Bio. He was a Libertarian candidate for President. He is a speaker and nothing more. If you lean toward Libertarian politics than he is you guy. But he does not teach a any college. He did go to college though. Yeah!!!
Please read my earlier post. You can rent space and hold classes just about anywhere. Please bear with me because this response will take more than the 500 spaces allowed by this site so this will take more than one post. Car dealerships are required by LAW to take care of the titling requirements in each state. I can't imagine a dealership willing to risk their license to help you prove a point.
Only a small percent of the population has the funds to go into a dealership, lay down cash to purchase a vehicle and demand the MSO. And these people didn't get where they are by breaking the LAW. I realize that some states' registration fees are really high and hard for some of us low income people to pay but you would be better served trying to start a movement to lower the fees. This guy is proposing to have you break the LAW. Your choice.
Getting the laws changed is the Democratic way to handle this issue. I don't live in Washington State but I know that they managed to get their fees lowered considerablly a few years back. Keep in mind that road maintenance costs have to be paid somehow. If not from registration fees that by raising some other tax. You will pay your share of the costs no matter what.
You know what, it's OK if you like this guy and you like what he has to say. Isn't this a wonderful country. You have the right to voice your opiinion, to believe what you want to believe without fear of reprisals. But by the same token, I have the right to believe this guy is nuts. But I would gladly fight and die to protect your right to believe what you want.
No, I don't think the constitution is wrong. I just think that this guy's take on the constitution is twisted. He is an anti-government type and wants to fight the laws at every turn. I am quite sure there are real professors on every college campus offering classes on the constitution. As I said previously, if you lean toward Libertarian politics than he's your guy. But if you are a bit more traditional in your political thinking than you will agree with me.
well I have looked for other classes and can't find...I'm looking for anyone who defines the constitution different then him and would argue with what he says...I'm reading up on the constitution and everything he says of what I have read is true....The words are right there on the page I even check the words for there meanings to make sure he is right...I can't interpret it any other way then he does...But I'd love to hear an argument.lol
Yes apparently look at the responses and look on the net...And there are other vids on here of him at a college and someone said this vid is a college too.
IMHO, this small example of whether one is willing to fight for his right to drive without license or tags is a good litmus test of whether he is truly willing to fight for freedom, or is just another keyboard warrior.
Some people are incapable of fighting. I have tried this many times... it doesn't work. Not because the courts won't find you not guilty or admit that their court system doesn't apply to you, but because they won't let you talk AT ALL. You are not allowed to SAY anything. you are not allowed to reject the public defender. You are not allowed to appeal without paying a fee. And, they take EVERYTHING you own (some being more important then fighting for
constitutional rights, such as the things you will commit suicide if taken). Educating others through the keyboard is a great way to be an activist if your state or your situation renders you literally incapable of doing anything. All that's happening to me by this is going to jail and getting my stuff stolen... BUT NOTHING THAT BENEFITS ANYONE IS HAPPENING AS A RESULT OF THOSE THINGS.
Rayvn7 - I understand your feeling like that. BUT...knowledge is power. It is not precisely true that "they won't let you talk AT ALL.", etc.
I don't suggest someone go at it until they have done their homework. Just like you wouldn't go looking for a biker-bar brawl until you had your black belt, right?

I think that, as that student said in class, the dealerships are required (ordered) to send the MSO to the government and not hand it to the purchaser unless he is going to take the car out of state or to another country.
No they will not because they are a "corporation" under the office of Fisherman (the pope) so they can not accept gold nor silver, they can only accept lawful money ( United States Notes or United States coin) or else private debt instruments ( FRN's ).
They can not take gold or silver or the corporation will be dissolved .. they have rules they have to follow. The U.S. is in bankruptcy ... no gold or silver is aloud.

The roads are by no means funded by the registration of your vehicle.
All road maintenance and upkeep comes through the gas tax .. a direct tax
