  • Bullshit, you're NOT supposed to insert the magnet in the water since at that point you're using superficial tension as the force keeping the flakes linked to the object inserted. To check this, try with a nonmagnetic object, like a ballpen, or a toothpick.

  • It says it contain Iron on the box, why is this supposed to be a scandal. Isn't iron attracted to magnets?

  • @Mickoes

It is iron metal fillings... /watch?v=5ahlawrQHeA

    This is what inspired me.

  • This is no joke! I just did this with a quaker oatmeal square and a small neodymium magnet. The square charged towards the magnet and stopped right under it. Then I ate a few because they are delicious!!

  • This is called "cohesion" and is not a magnetic property. The water molecules are attracted to any solid surface, taking the cornflakes with them. Put a drop of dishwashing liquid in the water (or milk) and the cohesion effect will cease. There is not enough dietary iron in cornflakes to make them magnetic.

Cohesion is also the effect that allows a container to be filled over the rim. A drop of soap will break the cohesion, or surface tension spilling the liquid out of the container.

  • learned there was iron in cereal in 5th grade. Been eating it eversince and im a healthy 16 year old.

  • Those ppl whom saying its faked because they tried other materials! And the got same result as its shown!

Guys,, why dont u upload ur vides? And let us see.

Anyway i dont eat such flake food.. I prefer to eat what i cook for my self "advice"

  • الله وكبر عليكم

  • iron is good for you. I think they were sticking from surface tension of the water I've done the same with my finger and I don't think my finger is magnetic.

if you want to talk about some sick shit that i've seen done. The fda mandates that all meat is injected with ammonia

  • wow. just wow. first of all get the fucking magnet OUT OF THE WATER. i can do exactly what you are doing with a WOODEN SPOON. like someone said before, its just surface tension. why would only 2 of those flakes be attracted to the magnet if they all have iron in them......

  • People should be aware of what they eat

Here in arab countries we tend to buy food from the US or europ

We can see that although USA is the leading country of ISO and standards

It seems that it had set all those standards for others to follow

While it does'nt follow because healthy food is expensive and it tends to make money no matter how it effects people or kids

  • @aquasoul72 USA as well as Canada follow the "CORPORATION'S" guidelines, and believe me, it's NOT in our best interest. There is no such thing as healthy food here - if it's been government regulated. They don't allow us to know what is genetically modified, irradiated or contains MSG / Aspartame (they call it by other names to confuse the public). Meat and dairy is tax payer subsidized and full of pus, antibiotics, natural and artificial hormones and people wonder why they are so sick.

  • pff its all because of "surface tension"

  • that has nothing to do with magnetics..!

  • I'm still going to eat cornflakes! Umm Yumm!

  • @DVDluvr123 You really think that....??? Why don't you watch the video response to this clip titled "Metal Filings In Your Freaking Cereal".

  • @DianeDi yea that doesnt prove ashit bout ur FAKE video you dumb cunt!!!!

    ahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

git ur ass back in the kitchen and make me a bowl of oatmeal instead.

  • @DVDluvr123 It's not fake, your cereal actually has iron in it, cereal like corn flakes, and other cereal as well.

  • @dylanfleck It was faked.

  • @DVDluvr123 It's not fake... watch the other video or the HUNDREDS of other videos all over youtube.

  • @DVDluvr123 - Um... watch the other video "as stated" before you spit out any more ignorant comments.

  • @mrunconventional Go to the bottom of the comments and click on “View all Comments”. Read all of my previous comments before you spit out any more ignorant comments.

  • @DVDluvr123 - I did... they are all just as moronic as this one. It's simple... prove all the filing videos are fake. Thaaaaat's riiiiight, do your own video proving there's no iron. Good luck with that.

  • @mrunconventional If you want to believe that science, logic, and good sense are “moronic” then of course that is your choice to make.

  • This is BULLSHIT!! They are "attracted" to the "magnet" due to water tension!!! I CHALLENGE you to do this same experiment without putting the corn flakes in water.

  • no not magnetic...they are held fast by the tension of the meniscus formed when the two objects touch and form said meniscus. busted!

  • It work the same way with you finger.Because your whole body is already magnetized.Instead of a magnet put you finger in the water and see how your finger attracts the ceral.

  • The flakes did nothing until you put the magnet into the water, GET AN EDUCATION

  • From the Merck Manuals website 'Online Medical Library': "Iron poisoning is the most common cause of fatal poisoning in children younger than age 5."

This has tapered off some since individual packaging of iron supplement pills (which are often around children as child-bearing age women take iron often), often resembling small mints/candies, was recommended and instituted in the US in the late 90s. And, yes, there are iron filings in the food. That's what reduced iron is. Elemental iron.

  • * iron is good for people, to a point. One of the #1 ways kids are poisoned in this country is due to iron supplements. Too much iron in the diet is bad for all people. But some people have to watch out even more. The most common genetic disorder around, esp. for Whites (around 1 in 200 people) is HEMOCHROMATOSIS = high Fe load levels. It's not red blood cell count, but is total iron in the blood. Too high = the disease. Iron to builds up in tissues and can cause early death. Get tested.

  • @moleculesnmorphemes FFS. 1. cases of overload are rare, let alone just in children. It is not a #1 cause of poisoning, and only those with an hereditary disorder are susceptible. 2. You will never get more than 18mg of Iron in cereal, you can handle 40+mg daily, chance of iron overload is negligible unless you eat large amounts and take supplements. 3. The genetic disorder is in Scots, and affects less than 1%. You can't get much enriched cereal there, so I'm sure they'll be fine.

  • I appreciate the reply. Do you know what you're talking about though? I've had MDs tell me hemochromatosis is the most common genetic disorder, especially in Whites. Yes, people of Celtic extraction seem to have it more than others. But it's not limited to Scottish people! I'm not Scottish, and I have it. I know A DOZEN people who do, and I live in a town of 35,000 people. Yes, iron supplements are the #1 cause of accidental poisoning in American kids. Look it up. :)

  • @moleculesnmorphemes I'm certain SenatorWilson is a paid troll. He has been around for some time now. His site is empty, just like his facts.

  • What's with the people who don't believe this is real? Many processed foods contain reduced (the opposite of oxidized) iron. They shouldn't. Iron is good for people*, but, come on, let's add more natural forms of iron to food. Iron in the form of oxides and hydroxides in water, tiny bits of dirt on vegetables, as heme in meat, etc. are the forms that humans were meant to eat, digest, absorb. Yes, the reduced iron in cereal is oxidized in the stomach, but metallic iron is hard on teeth, for one.

  • That's IRON that they add to food. You can usually pick up filings at the bottom of the cereal bag or see them in the bottom of your milk. They aren't harmful, but I don't think your body actually absorbs the iron.

  • good lord, madam - all you are proving is what the cereal box says - it contains iron. If I was to take anyones blood, break down the Haemoglobin (that transports O2 + CO2 in the body) and do the same experiment as the man in the video with the magnet, guess what! We'd have iron filings. We need it live. Yes you can overload, but it is so rare it's almost not worth mentioning, besides, that is usually because of genetics. Stop scaring yourself and others and accept hard science over conspiracy.

  • ...and the problem with this is....what? Everybody needs iron. About 10mg a day, more than that for females. Not all foods are good for you, of course, but you're worried about being poisoned by corn flakes? CORN FLAKES!? I honestly don't see what the problem is.

  • @MrFugi2021 I dont' think 10mg of iron on the cereal will be attracted by magnets.

  • @sysxtreme

Um...alright? Then you explain to me what is happening. Magnets attract some metals (most notably iron). Are you saying that there is more iron in the cereal than the company OPENLY ADMITS to having for health benefits? Or are you saying that the cereal is full other magnetic metals like cobalt or nickel?

  • @MrFugi2021 We must agree that this effect is very freak! I never saw an iron pill being attracted by magnets. Something is very wrong with those cereals!

  • @sysxtreme I'd say something is wrong. Either way, it's processed food. These corporations could probably put sugar and food coloring and artificial flavoring on sh@t and people would eat it. Oh wait, they already do. ;o)

  • @sysxtreme Try floating the pills in water, then get a magnet and watch that baby get pulled around. The reason they wouldn't get attracted to magnets out of water is the same reason why cereal doesn't attracted to magnets out of water - friction.

  • @MrFugi2021 No I'm not saying there is MORE iron, but it's the type of iron. It's not a pharmaceutical grade supplement, it is metal filings. Have a quick look at the attached video response and it will show you.

  • @DianeDi What? A different TYPE of iron? That makes no sense, Fe is Fe lady. There aren't little slivers of iron in your food - or else they would be poking out! The reason they form slivers in the gentleman's video is because the man (shock horror!) MAGNETISED them with a MAGNET, so they stick together and look like filings. If you want some purpose in your life get a real conspiracy theory, like how they inject meat with water (NON-deadly) so it weighs more and they can sell it for more.

  • @SenatorWilson "Reduced iron" is produced from direct reduction of iron ore (in the form of lumps, pellets or fines) by a reducing gas produced from natural gas or coal. The reducing gas is a mixture majority of Hydrogen (H2) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) which acts as reducing agent. Much cheaper for these corporations to produce for their "cereal" products. Just look it up - where we can get iron "naturally" from food. You can have the iron slivers all for yourself, thank you very much.

  • @DianeDi Sorry, I have no idea what your point is. You're talking about Sponge Iron, that is something to do with the steel process and slag. Nothing to do with food. And even if it was powdered down and laced into your food it would just pass through your digestive tract. Also, how on earth is the reduction of iron cheaper than just adding normal iron or supplemental iron?! Besides, my whole point was that there WASN'T slivers of iron. I don't understand your crazy internet-assisted ramblings.

  • jesus, you people are crazy. watch this video, maybe you'll realize something.

google "the danger of science denial"

Do I think everything that's put into our foods such as cereal is good for us? No, I don't. Do I think that "they" are poisoning or water/food/air supply like some crazy conspiracy? No. Contamination/pollution of our air/water/food is from population growth and technological progress.

  • @DianeDi Jesus, lady. It's called iron. Our bodies need it. And as for aspartame, sucralose, flouride, saccharine (which has been banned for few cases of cancer in lab rats), other artificial sweeteners and additives that are put into a large variety of food, they're done for our health. Sure you can blame big organizations for funding research that promotes their product but most of it is for the best anyway and if research shows it messes people up, then that's what gets published and reviewed

  • @DianeDi Yes, I am 19 years old. I am aware that I don't know everything in the world, but I do know that claims like "they're poisoning us" are outlandish. Let's look at the things you mentioned in your post:

Aspartame: A sweetener that supposedly has negative side effects. I don't know enough about it, so I'll just leave it at that.

Fluoride: Used in many dental hygiene products (toothpaste, mouth wash, etc.) and is put in the US water supply, because it helps prevent tooth decay.

  • @DianeDi High Fructose Corn Syrup: Another sweetener. Yeah, it's not great for you. I won't debate that. Simple thing to do, just don't buy stuff with it. There's enough of an organic movement going on that you can find food without it. Do I think that the Food Industry is the devil and is trying to kill us all with it? No. They're trying to turn a profit, HFCS is cheaper to use than real sugar.

Geez, they really need to up the character limit......

  • @DianeDi Science: Yes, science takes money to perform research and experiments. I don't see how that's a bad thing. What you seem to be getting at is that the Food Industry and/or big businesses in general are what the problem is. This is partially true. Yes, they are the ones that create the products that we buy, and they do so in a manner such that they can profit. That's human nature. We want to get ahead of others because it makes it easier for us to survive.

  • @Katanub actually, cornflake are supposed to have iron in them...

  • lmao

  • Why do they put this in it?

  • @Koroush51 It's in many "fortified" cereals. Most processed cereal has zero nutritional value - therefore they add synthesized vitamins and other nutrients.

  • @DianeDi

Do you still eat them? not those u used there but do u eat cereal after this?

  • @myfatproductions I've never eaten cornflakes. In fact I don't eat boxed cereal, it's only processed, overpriced garbage (in my opinion). I bet there is more nutrition in the box. I like oatmeal from time to time - the real oatmeal that you cook for 15 + minutes.

  • they dont care about you, one of the multiple parts of the new world order is to slowly kill evrybody with cnacarous food, the goverment wnats to kill you and theres nothing you cant do about it, is sounds messed up and non-sense, but look at the goergia stones video on youtube, and look at the fluoried poisonning videos and the modified dna food...its fucked up...

  • @makavelifollower Agreed.... we are being poisoned through food, water and air.... our vary basics. Those smart enough to work around GMO food, fluoride, aspartame, etc., and air borne toxins hopefully know better than to get vaccinated or chipped. Check out "Doomsday Seed Vault" in Norway... funded by Monsanto, Bill Gates and the Rockefellers. They know !

  • @UMakeTheConnection What about the seed vault in Norway? How the hell is that a conspiracy? I'd say there are two purposes for the seed vault: 1) Collect all the types of produce seed that exist, like a zoo, but for seeds. 2) Should the world ever encounter a nuclear holocaust or some other dooms day occurrence that wipes out a lot of the world's grain/produce, there is a supply that can be used.

How is that bad in any way?

  • @YouDoobed

No kidding ! Google " Controlling Our Food" - documentary based on MONSANTO aka Monsatan. It's worth a listen.....

  • @DianeDi yes you're right! , freemasons is doin their job, and the cereals are being over ironed that causes a lot of problem in our body

  • I was almost killed (literally) from eating Total Cereal. I have a fairly common metabolic disorder called Hereditary Hemochromatosis, which does not allow my body to metabolize iron, and it stores in the liver and heart. I became very ill and my liver was setting off the metal detector in airports before I was diagnosed! We do not need all the iron the cereal companies inflict upon us.

  • you thick suckers there in a bowl of water being moved by what ever shes holding

this is what i mean you believe shit like this but when the truth looking at people in the face you deny it

  • @briefy09 .....it's iron in the cornflakes.... GOOGLE IT or READ THE GODDAMN BOX!!!!

  • Actually, this is good. The cereal having iron, I mean. The metal fillings dissolve in the stomach so they don't stick to your guts or anything. And iron is needed to create hemoglobin.

I have iron deficiency anemia and since I'm on this iron supplement diet, I don't feel faint.

  • Check out this vid

    watch?v=NhfuLxLy844

I do not think this is the kind of iron we should be digesting. It is different than what comes naturally in some foods. Adding this stuff is like adding nail shaving to the mix. We have heard the dangers of too much iron...even most multi-vitamins do not include iron for that very reason.

  • That is Gross, as I just tested it with my screwdriver which is magnetic it pulls the cornflakes on a certain corner I tried each sides. not all side responded with my screw driver except for a couple which was very sudden movement as if it was being dragged like a boat following my screwdriver. I wont be eating that now I know that. It definetionly not water tension not all sides of the flakes responded except few areas.

  • I could be mistaken, but this is the same with many cereals "fortified with iron".

  • there is many videos to tell u the same thing on here take a look at Magnetic food: Metal Bits in YOUR Cereal! Yummy! or Metal fillings in your freaking cerial

  • Yes I stopped eating cereal 20 years ago when I saw the metal filings or shavings floating in the milk, I was scared the filings would stick in my guts like a splinter, also if you pour the milk out slowly you will see alot of filings at the bottom of the bowl...Wait and Look Close.

Theres your added iron for ya...!

You don't need science...Just a god given brain and a pair of eyes...

When your done with the cereal you might as well eat the box for fiber...?

  • This is not madnetism. Thsi wouldn't happen without the water. It's called WATER TENSION.

  • no, you need to watch the vid she suplyed, CLEAR METAL FILINGS IN THE CERIAL.

  • I agree, it isn't "madnetism" it's magnetism. :P

  • I don´t want to read all but... you guys... try to do this without the magnet... try your fingertips... the corn flakes follow them as well... it is just a matter of reorganization of the watter´s surface...

it scared me at first as well :)

  • I have to disagree... today in chemistry class we actually ground up Total brand cereal, put it in water in a bowl, and put a powerful magnet next to the bowl. We LITERALLY pulled up actual iron filings from the cereal. If you don't believe me, try it yourself!!

  • They actually did this experiment in chemistry class - I'm impressed. Thanks for helping to validate this.

  • indeed, this is simply cohesion of the flakes on the surface of the water due to, like Nomeansnofan stated, hydrodynamic tension. what utter BS Video. learn your science if your gonna try to prove something.

  • Wow DianeDi I didn't know about this - thanks!

    Luv 'ya

  • Wow this is an eye opener. Since I have Celiac's Disease this is the one cereal I supposedly can have but don't since I don't trust much of the labelling that is on packages. I will never quite understand why in this day and age their is so much "garbage" going into our foods.

  • I rarely eat anything out of a box or package & even then, I feel I could do better. Garbage is cheap - it makes money for big corps. You should, avoid Fluoride, MSG, Aspartame, High Fructose Corn Syrup, at all costs. fluoride is in everything pretty much & the others are in thousands of products, products U wouldn't even think about. That sad fact is they are killing all of us. I don't even give my cats tap water anymore... if you R not aware of the problem, watch "Poisoned Horses" on YTube

  • have you seen the studies that show even "purified" bottled water is barely, if at all, better than tap water

  • Yes I have, that's why I only drink "distilled" water. Not only is there nothing in it, it also eliminates FLUORIDE...

  • HYDRODYNAMIC TENSION, or surface tension.

Only a fool would buy this tripe! is there less than one star????

  • Interested viewers should also watch "The Ghost in Your Genes," a documentary about exposures to chemical-laden and/or poor diet being inherited over generations through altered DNA.

Most food additives and pharmaceuticals ARE industrial waste... including biphosphonates for osteoporosis. BTW, I have never allowed dentists to give me (age 51) or my son (age 17) fluoride treatments, and neither of us have ever had a cavity. It's simply not necessary.

  • Thanks, I checked it out... wow, very interesting information... I appreciate the share my friend.

  • You're welcome!! It's the least I can do for someone who shares so much wonderful info with me! ;-]

  • well im not too worried about my DNA since less than 2% of it is actually of importance to us. the rest is junk. and the odds of that being affected are slim

  • Just because researchers have no idea what 98% of our DNA is supposed to do, doesn't make it junk. This is still the dark ages...

  • true some of that DNA may have a purpose that no one has found yet but im willing to bet that some of it is simply worthless mutations that no longer serves a purpose

  • Too bad we'll probably both be long gone before they finally figure it out. Humans have less DNA than most plants.

  • SOB

  • This is called water traction and has nothing to do with magnetism.

  • Oh and also, I did some research: It turns out, that 1 cup of cooked lentils contains 80% of your recommended daily intake of iron, over TWICE as much iron as cited here.

  • And yes, this also happens with cheerios, oatmeal, and paper. I'll post videos proving it if you'd like.

  • I agree with Revidien here. This has nothing to do with general magnetism and the cereal containing "30%" Iron per serving. The cheerios/corn flakes themselves are attracted to eachother because of the molecular bonds of the water.

Would it surprise you to learn that if you put a magnet like that on a cut, it will draw your blood away from the wound?

Anyway, DianeDi, you know I like your videos but the whole "don't eat something because it reacts to a supermagnet" is misleading...

  • just by chance - did you watch the video link attached under video description? It really does make you wonder.

  • Yeah, I watched that directly afterwards. Now, I'm willing to contend that ok, maybe you can chemically separate a few iron flakes out of a whole box...so what? Like I said, our blood contains an even higher iron concentration, does that mean we shouldn't have blood in our bodies?

Prove to me why consuming diffused iron is bad, and we'll go from there.

  • I suppose my thoughts on this were the fact the original video mentioned these are metallic filings added to your cereal, not a bio-available form of iron. This is rather misleading to consumers in my eyes, the same as fluoride treatments at the dentist are pharmacuetical grade vs. the toxic waste (Hydrofluoric acid) that is used in our water supply. The purpose of this was simple awareness. I don't eat enriched foods, and you can get a good dose of iron from cooking in a cast iron fry pan.

  • That was a loaded comment, and as I really don't see the parallel with fluoride here, as I have stated previously, I'll simply address your statement regarding "awareness".

I'm absolutely in favour of promoting awareness of something, but to me, the tenure of this whole thing was to encourage people not to eat fortified cereals, rather than simply present evidence and let people make their own decisions based upon that evidence.

  • Forgive me if I gave the impression that people shouldn't eat cereal, quite frankly I don't care what people eat... I am only about raising awareness. People will always make their own decisions no matter what I say, or at least I hope they will or I have lost respect for the masses.

Again, everyone should always do their own homework and from that, they can make an educated decision.

  • As for the fluoride issue... you may not see a parallel, yet it is again shoved into our water supply - on mass, and people unknowingly are drinking toxic waste - something they didn't have knowledge of... Either way, it's the parallel of deception... iron/fluoride it really doesn't matter.

  • Ok, I'll address your points again...

Firstly, if you respect people's ability to choose, individually what they wish to eat, then this whole "respect for the masses" thing goes right out the window; and I couldn't help but laugh at the juxtaposition there.

Now, as for what was said about fluoride, that really is not related, and we can discuss that in personal messages, rather than take up space here.

    Thanks.

  • Upon watching a few other video's, it appears both capillary action and general magnetism are responsible for influencing the 'Corn flakes.'

When contacting in the water - Capillary attraction.

When using a powerful (neodymium) magnet, the abundant iron content, can be influenced without any physical contact. Eg. Hovering a magnet over the 'floating' Corn flakes.

Sorry for any confusion, i saw capillary attraction in your demonstration, and a 'magnetic' attraction in another video. Peace.

  • Please understand, i am not calling anyone down or trying to cause trouble. I am just trying to help, it is very misleading, it does appear to be 'magnetic.' Best to you all.

    Wiki - Capillary action.

  • Try a pencil, your finger, etc instead of a magnet. Wood on wood, will work as well. Eg. Pencil + Corn Flake.

The 'Corn flake' is attracted to the 'Magnet' by means of capillary action. Not general magnetism.

The water rises to fill the gap between the two materials, (Pencil + Corn Flake) pulling them together.

Note how water, 'Climbs' between two materials in water. The water bonds to both materials acting as a 'weak glue'.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

    Processed foods are terrible.

  • Thanks for sending me the link Diane, I never would have imagined this to be possible. I only eat organic cereal, so wonder if that would be better than regular 'iron fortified' cereals? Probably anything that says it's 'iron fortified', you think?

  • I don't eat cereal as a rule, but I will eat regular oatmeal or cream of wheat. The boxes are overprice processed sawdust and now, with metal filings.... yummy! You're probably better off to eat the box ;o)

  • I am so glad I don't eat and never have eaten corn flakes. I wonder if it is just corn flakes or is it other cereals? I do like raisin bran and super sugar crisp. I'll have to try it on those. I guess the one experiment I saw of this was true then. Thanks for testing it out yourself my friend. If only more would do that. Thanks.

  • It's ALL fortified/enriched cereals with iron... which is just about everything. I don't eat ANY boxed cereal - best to stick with plain old oatmeal or cream of wheat with fresh fruit, etc. I'm not a big breakfast person, but guaranteed if the good stuff was sitting in front of me, I'd eat it.

  • What is the iron content ?

  • 1 1/4 cup of cereal contains 30% iron - based on the box nutrient list.

  • Wow! I'm glad I don't eat cereal anymore... wonder if this could be done to oatmeal as well?

  • Lovely, thanks Monsato!!!

  • IRON MAN FOOD .

Yeah funny comment , but i want to tell you (everyone) there is irion fillings (poison) in our cerial . This is no joke , try it 4 your self .

Your cereal AND milk is deadly poison to you AND your kids.

Thanks Diane , nice (but distubing ) vid

  • Thanks PYTHAGORAS101 for inspiring me to do this experiment for myself. No one should just take everything at face value - people need to do their own research, and once you start the secrets you uncover are unbelieveable.

  • Great attitude Diane , question everything .

    your wonderfull

  • Including Fiber One and cherios?

  • I don't have those to experiment on, but if it's fortified with iron (check the box) then I would have think so - watch this clip..

    watch?v=5ahlawrQHeA

  • I don't have those to experiment on, but if it's fortified with iron (check the box) then I would have think so.

  • that's quite interesting...i like corn flakes.

  • Breakfast of champions...not.

  • WTF! Ack!... I've seen it all now... that's crazy!

  • I guess we can add this to the long list of "other" Ack factors... like fluoride in our water, mercury in vaccines, msg and aspartame in thousands of products, aluminium & barium falling from chemtrails. Well I suppose these cornflakes were already Monsanto's GMO corn to begin with.

  • What brand are these?

  • These are Kellogg's brand, however if you watch the video under my vid description the fellow that does the original eye opening experiment says this applies to ALL enriched cereals.

  • We the people are the only ones who can end this all, just be keeping on exposing it, and growing our own heritage seeds world wide. End Monsanto's GMO reign of death.
