is it possible to put the first flask in an ice bath while steam bubbles into it or will it crack?

@mee198205 chances are, starting in an ice bath the flask and liquid will be cold. The steam bubbling into it would have to heat the liquid and the glass to crack it...doubt it would. Would probably burn through your ice though. You have more issues dunking hot glass in ice baths than the other way around, from my experiance.
