60009 has always been a good A4 and that is good a run as Sutherland has done up Hatton but not as good as Hamilton. That loco beat them all. As for 6024, it wasn't even as fast as a Jubilee on the Lickey.

I have on DVD a stunning winter sequence on PSOV's "Mainline 1991 Volume 1" of 6024 storming up this very bank with around 540 tonnes behind the tender. 12 coaches plus an ETHEL and 6024 was traveling at the same speed, if not slightly faster than No.9. Quite am impressive performance i feel. No?
