Very nice setup, what fan is making all the noise, nice but i don't think i can tolerate the noise. you should try putting some rubber shrouds on the fans to eliminate some of the noise. are the fans on the rad making all the noise. they are sure nice looking fans, great job dude.
i don't know too much about watercooling, but isnt that too much radiator for just cooling the CPU? It would be worth the size and noise if the videocards and other stuff would be watercooled.
OK it's a nice rig! Only thinkg that gets me is part of the point of water cooling is to cool the whole rig not just the CPU and to me i think SOUND is a BIG thing and that sounds like it's loud!!! still it's got to be fun to overclock that.
why such a huge system and only cooling ur CPU? if i was to spend that much on that big of a rad and set up i would water cool everything. at least i wouldnt have to have all those fans on everything else making it even LOUDER.
by the way i dont see how water cooling is SOOO much better. i know it looks cool and cool concept but i have a nice air cooler on my CPU and it runs at those temps. AMD Phenom 4x quadcore. dont get me wrong i want water cooling some day cuz it looks cool.. but y els?
I just ask about that. It runs a little warmer bec he keep his room warm. Water cooling system can only cool you system to (close to) room temp.
He said he keep his room around 80 degrees fahrenheit. His system run ide at 30 degrees celsius 30C = 86F so it only run 6 degrees warmer then his room which is normal.
I must say I was unsure what to think of that Radiator Shroud at first. But you did a good job only thing I didnt like is the fans on your radiator are red/orange and your color scheme is blue. LOL Im building a rig up for A Bright Green UV set up.
Sorry, but thats incorrect. The magnets I'm using are extremely small and will have absolutely NO effect on the hard drives.
Think about laptop designs. Lots of laptop lids are kept shut with magnets. The doors on the front my of case are kept closed by magnets also...By manufacturers design. So if you wont believe me, trust the engineers who do these things for a living. ;)
wtf ??? you use a gtx 480 to cool only the cpu ?? i thinking to buy that but i thinking to using for cooling all the parts ... what temps you take in full load ?
damn! it's scary! at first I thought it was some NASA footage. the cooling takes just so much space. why you need such an aggressive solution? I read you have a OCed quadcore and 2 8800 GTX, that shouldn't generate such a hell of a heat, or not?

Never ran Superpi or 3dmark Vantage, but my 3dmark06 score in early 2008 was in the 18,000s thanks to the old 8800gtx's.
Those were great cards. They've been extremely durable in the market and are still able to compete with lots of new mid-range offerings.
A friend is giving me his old qx9650 in a couple weeks... that should be fun to play with :)
Thanks for the comment.

You ever get noise complaint from your neighbor? jk
Very nice setup. For such a hefty water cooling system I would of though it would be cooler. Do you keep you room pretty warm or something?
Zeth2571 2 years ago
The middle of summer in Oklahoma. Room stayed 80degrees or higher 90% of the time D:
ArmedZagi 2 years ago
That must be why it does not run cooler. Water cooling can only cool down the system to room temp.
Zeth2571 2 years ago

Flightkid9 2 years ago
Its actually 1/2"id 3/4"od Silver lined Tygon meant for PCs. I just sleeved them in braided steel (actually tinned copper braid).
Using regular steel braided rubber hose like you would find on plumbing fixtures would probably be a bad idea.
ArmedZagi 2 years ago
oh, they look exactly like it lol ya I wouldn't advise puting plumbing pipe on a computer either lol

I must say I was unsure what to think of that Radiator Shroud at first. But you did a good job only thing I didnt like is the fans on your radiator are red/orange and your color scheme is blue. LOL Im building a rig up for A Bright Green UV set up.

Is it a computer with water in it?
i mean wtf why?
and if it is a computer: is it good?
TheBull027 2 years ago
Yes, its a computer with water in it. The water isnt exactly IN the computer, its IN the cooling system for the cpu.
Why? Because its very efficient and keeps the processor very cool.
Is it good? Its ok. Its nearly 3 years old now. When it was first built, it was almost as good as you could buy.

I'm baffled at why a watercooled system is making so much noise. Is the main source of this noise those red fans on the radiator?
(Nice job fixing it to the top of the case, btw!)
nogoodreason 2 years ago
The noise is coming from the cheap blue Apevia's in the case. The fans on the rad are very quiet.

I just noticed that the spacing of your rad support is not spaced evenly, was there a problem.
WestCoastMods 2 years ago
Yes, my math at 2:00am ....lol
The top of the case is 21" long. The aluminum is 1.5" wide. That comes out to 7 aluminum pieces with 7x1.5" gaps.
I had two options, either do 1.75" gaps or use 1.5" gaps with one 3" gap in the front. I temporarily clamped it both ways to see which looked better.
I actually liked it better with the one large gap at the front... So I built it that way :)
