@161angie I am well aware of the fact that many other countries have their fair share of anorexics and bulimics, but it feels like only in America would people have the audacity to create websites that promote these disorders. The reason I included PETA in the list is because I know many researchers who use animals as test subjects, and some of these animal rights groups do tend to skew facts in their favor, making us look like satanists. I apologize if I offended you based on your nationality.
@eBiology It's not only in America that people promote eating disorders either. There's a pro-ana chat that was made by an Australian girl, and I know of several websites from Canada and the UK.
Omg only in America: PETA, Scientology, Westboro Baptist Church, KKK, Fox News... the list goes on.... and now I learn of websites that actually promote anorexic/bulimic behaviours???
For anyone suffering of eating disorders, please stick to psychiatric and nutritional support... and stay away from sites that promote anorexia.

It sucks and it hurts, but it's hard to stop without feeling worse than before.

i am doing a ketogenic low-carbohydrate diet, you should try it, you get to eat a lot of eggs, meat, cheese, butter, but you can only eat about 25 grams of carbohydrates a day. You should do it, it's real easy, it is like the Dr. Atkins low-carbohydrate diet.
I suppose I'm gonna go ahead and be a hater, well. Hater being someone who wants to post their opinion. Anas do not need motivation to become more and more bony, falling deeper into the black abyss. People think they are going to be beautiful once they 'become' anorexic. But its the complete opposite. They thrive to fit in, but then don't have time to socialise therefore not needing to fit it. Its just a viscious, life-taking circle.

i had eating desorders a few years ago, and i was beautiful, i was thin, very sexy i have to admit it.
now i am 25 years old, and my body is fucked up, i am hypertensive, i cannot eat fruits or vegetables anymore, my body rejects them, and theres nothing doctors can do about it.
i just wish i had the balls to acept myself the way i was, and just for that maybe i would have more time to live.

I know that nothing anyone says can make a person with an ED change. It has to come from yourself. Even when people rightly say how unattractive and unhealthy it is. Same as a person with a substance abuse problem. See any similarities? EDs are a serious mental illness - YOU DONT CHOOSE IT IT CHOOSES YOU Could you stop? Doubtful. Feel out of control without it? Would you want your friend addicted to drugs to get help? Definitely. You can't stop having the disease but you can choose to get help.
10 MILLION people only in US suffer (yes, suffer) from some sort of ED and 15 % of those DIE. EDs are *NOT* a lifestyle, more like horrible way of suicide, whithering yourself away!! i had eating desorders a few years ago, and i was beautiful, i was thin, very sexy i have to admit it.
now i am 25 years old, and my body is fucked up, i am hypertensive, i cannot eat fruits or vegetables anymore, my body rejects them, and theres nothing doctors can do about it.
i just wish i had the balls to acept myself the way i was, and just for that maybe i would have more time to live.

@onyyy1990 Well obviously, compared to being schizo or having OCD, an eating disorder does have the highest morality rate among mental illnesses. That really says nothing when you compare it to deaths associated with overeating and being overweight (which majority of our nation suffers from). While not eating enough only kills about 1000 people per year, obesity kills over 100,000! So, simply put, I would rather see a girl put her burger down than pick it up. Fat is disgusting...and deadly.

I know that nothing anyone says can make a person with an ED change. It has to come from yourself. Even when people rightly say how unattractive and unhealthy it is. Same as a person with a substance abuse problem. See any similarities? EDs are a serious mental illness - YOU DONT CHOOSE IT IT CHOOSES YOU Could you stop? Doubtful. Feel out of control without it? Would you want your friend addicted to drugs to get help? Definitely. You can't stop having the disease but you can choose to get help.

10 MILLION people only in US suffer (yes, suffer) from some sort of ED and 15 % of those DIE. EDs are *NOT* a lifestyle, more like horrible way of suicide, whithering yourself away!!
