  • Your performance is lovely and obviously heartfelt. Your passion for Mendelssohn's music shines through. This Prelude and Fugue are a wonderful example of his work. I'm also enamoured of his music. I particularly like the Sonata No. 1 in f minor, as well as others.

  • Why thank you. I prefer to perform the rarely performed works, but the popular Sonata no. 1 in F minor is quite beautiful...There is an organist in Germany who performs it most excellently...

  • Finally found it! I was looking for this piece for whole summer because I am learning it right now and I had no idea how exactly it should be preformed.

Ironic enough I had first lesson with my teacher just today and I was told how it is supposed to be played.

  • There is another recording which I favorited which is quite good.

The hardest part of any organ work by Mendelssohn is getting the theme to be clearly stated amidst much chromaticism and elaborate counterpoint, voice leading, and finger substitutions.

This was the final piece of my American Guild of Organists concert here in Virginia. I thoroughly enjoy Mendelssohn...If you have any questions about the performance of his organ music, I would be happy to help!!! :)))

  • I also like very much Mendelssohn's organ music, specially this Prelude and Fugue in D minor. Congratulations from Rio de Janeiro - Brazil.

  • Mendelssohn just makes me weep he is so beautiful...I cannot listen to him without feeling more alive inside..........I have felt enraptured every time I play him.

  • wow. I liked listening to this song. The melody of it is creepy and melancholy...:o (btw You look good in that dress!)

  • Yes!!! When I first learned this piece, and as it grew on me, I would often feel very weighed down by the passion behind the music. It was written the year he was married to his wife Cecile.

I imagined he loved her with an indescribable fire.

  • For your information...yes, I am one of the few to post the Prelude in D minor for organ on Youtube!!!!

I could not find another recording on here at all and I was learning the piece for this concert and I was hoping I was the first one to have done so!!! Send me a video response if it is not the case!

  • I enjoyed playing for you. And the fifty-nine others who came ^_^!!!!

It was the best time in my life!

  • Enjoyed seeing you play it live. Keep up the awesomeness.
