  • 2:23 Man, that's a pretty bland Hero's Entrance. lol

  • 3:52 He picked it up again? He never dropped it!

8:30 So, if you dreamed of jumping off a cliff, would you do it? Not very wise, mate.

9:04 Don't you have a boat? Or were you in desperate need of a bath anyway? ;)

  • LOL I never knew till now that that was Tom Baker. That's awesome!

  • I am not gay but the guy playing sinbad is strikingly handsome. Women back then must have been all over him.

  • Thanks dude, for uploading tis vid..God bless ya buddy.

  • shouldn't there be copyright problems? ( i am typing this as the beginning credits are playing)

  • @Superbowser100 I hope not. Dragonslayer got taken down and I had a second strike on my account. Hopefully more people should be able to see this one. It's strange, some newer films are shown here on youtube and other more obscure ones are taken down because of copyright issues. They are of course entitled to do so, but I still find it strange. Just hope I don't jinx myself.

  • @mofrakker That's Sony for you. :P Makes me wonder if the Sony execs grew up to be selfish and covetous.

  • i remember this movie i loved it this movie brings back precious memorys seeing this almost brings me to tears

  • These were REAL movies back then.....the effects were so original done with true creativity and ingenuity.... :)

  • jeto hezký ale chtělo by to do českého jazyka zcech republik

  • I went to see this movie back in 1974 and have been a huge scifi fan ever since.without ray harryhasen there would be no Steven spielburg or George lucas.

  • Love Harryhausen, all Harryhausen

  • OOOOOOOOOOo ILOVE THIS!

  • YOU TUBE- YOU ARE THE BEST.....ITS GOOD TO SEE THIS AGAIN!

  • Thank you , thank you , THANK YOU for posting this !!!! I have been looking for this movie EVERYWHERE !!!

  • @LyndaHudson You are very welcome. Hope you like Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger too (although it does not have the talents of JPL) which is the finale in the Ray Harryhausen/Sinbad trilogy.

  • Caroline Munro....YUM-MEEE!!! ♥

  • what is the sinbad where they kill a giant dodo like bird becuase they need a pice of their shell to make some potion or something? they cook it and eat it and it has buckshot in it? thats all I can remember, anybody?

  • @reefcut Don't think it's the 7th voyage. Might be the Magic Voyage of Sinbad' (think it's scandinavian).

  • @mofrakker

I was getting confused with sinbad and Mysterious Island, both Harryhausen creature rich, that explains it.

  • @mofrakker - it IS the 7th voyage of Sinbad, i've just been watching it. :)

  • @reefcut it's the 7th voyage

  • @bagshitass

I was getting confused with sinbad and Mysterious Island, both Harryhausen creature rich, that explains it.

  • @reefcut that's 7th voyage of Sinbad. Its a Roc not a dodo.

  • @reefcut yes. they kill the giant roc nestling in 7th voyage of sinbad

  • @reefcut That's 2 films. The giant bird one with the shell, is 'The 7th. Voyage of Sinbad'. The giant bird they kill with the bullet in it is 'Mysterious Island'.

  • @reefcut You're confusing two different movies. In the 7th voyage of Sinbad, a piece of the Roc's shell was needed for a potion to restore the princess to full size. In the movie "Mysterious Island" (1961), a giant DoDo is killed, and cooked, and consumed. During the feast, a bullet is found in the flesh of the beast. The movie is loosely based on a Jules Verne novel wich is a continuation of 20,000Leagues... Prod. by Harryhausen, score by Herrmann. Same Guys. Different series. Easy to confuse.

  • @reefcut That was in fact "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad."

  • Comment removed

  • @reefcut i think you might have two movies mixed up here. "Mysterious island" had a scene where the marooned us soldiers are cooking a giant chicken and they discover a bullet in it?

The other scene is from "The 7th voyage of sinbad" where sindbad (Kerwin matthews) and his men have to collect a bit off egg from the giant roc bird on the isle of colossa to make a potion

  • @reefcut The scene you're describing sounds very similar to one that appeared in Harryhausen's "The mysterious Island".

  • @reefcut The one where they need the shell for a magic potion is The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958). The one where they cook and eat a giant bird only to find a bullet in it is Mysterious Island (1961).

  • i remember watching the sinbad films as a child, but which one does he get his hand chopped off?

  • @scarlettvampire87 Well I'm stumped! It's not in the Harryhausen trilogy. Are you sure it's Sinbad? It's not Jason and the Argonauts either (cool movie too). I'm sure someone might know.

  • @scarlettvampire87 Could you possibly be thinking of "The Vikings"? Tony Curtis gets his left hand chopped off after betraying some English noble. Or perhaps "Taras Bulba", where Yul Brynner chops off the hand of the commander of a Polish army?

  • @scarlettvampire87 thats the one with the lightsabers. hmm...what was that name again :-)

  • @scarlettvampire87 Perhaps you are thinking of "The Vikings." Tony Curtis gets his hand chopped off in that one. Worth a look.

  • one of my childhood movie =]~~ it was awsome

  • Anybody remember a sinbad movie where he had to get the 'eye of truth' or something like that?

  • I wished there was closed captioning on this bc I miss half of what they're saying lol. But this is only the best movie. Ever.

  • the sumerian civilization in iraq was as powerful as the pharonic civilaization in egypt legend magics and marvels was existed and was created to serve the kings

  • Ray was the best at making movies!

  • I remmber watching this movie every single time I used to go visit my grandparents. I just recently bought the DVD. It's one of those movies that brings back great childhood memories (like Rudy712 stated below). I never get tired of watching it!

    Haloooooooooooo

    GIRLS & BOYS

  • OMG! How i loved this movie in my childhood!

    Thanks for uploading!!!

  • Sinbad has a different accent compared to the 7th voyage of sinbad

  • @Raysflower hey mate thats because sindabd was played by different characters? Kthe late great erwin matthews played him in the "7th voyage" and we have the late john philip law hare playing him in the "golden voyage"

  • 0:28, Koura (Tom Baker) is Doctor Who...

  • @electricmastro

Accorrding to the Audio Commentary on Ark In Space and Robot I believe, it was this movie that convinced the producers that Tom Baker would be a fitting successor to Jon Pertwee.

  • the memories my ppl

  • aw wow nobody does stop-motion animation like ray! his films are the best!

  • The date on the title screen is at 00:17 and is MCMLXXIII which is 1973.

  • @mofrakker, i thought that film was

released in Early 1974 or somethin

  • There are conflicting dates, someplaces it's dated as 1974 others as 1973, i saw the release date on wikipedia as 1973, but i can't be 100% certain.

  • @mofrakker I can, My grandfather managed a theater for a number of years in the early to mid 70's. 1973 is correct as I saw Enter the Dragon that same year. Spent many summer days watching movies all day long for free hanging out there.

  • @the60sKid Yeah, the same with me. I can remember any certain year I saw a certain string of classic movies. Didn't see this one, but I did get to see Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger on the big screen, and as a kid you never even notice that they are effects. It's just heroes fighting with cool monsters.

  • brilliant score by Miklos Rozsa!

  • @TheGreatMiklosROZSA1 in the best movie ever made

  • if memory serve correct Carolin Munroe was a Bond Girl?

  • That is correct. The spy who loved me. She also did Starcrash around the same time

  • I agree let me put the kids in the doghouse

  • Oh crap now you are getting serious with the childhood memories. Every time I see the villian I remember that its Tom Baker from Doctor Who and LMAO.

  • Dude. You are seriously my hero for putting this up. I've been looking for this in vain for years, and lo and behold, it finally arrives! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!

  • @BigMcLargeHuge100 This movie was one of my fondest childhood memories.

  • excellent post. one of my favorites from my childhood.

    thank you.

  • This movie is one of my fondest from my childhood memories. I remember that was so excited that I told the story and the cool things that I saw on the screen to everyone. My teacher finally got me to write a paper on the movie. I was the few that I never done any work. Great adventure classic. Now I am going to watch it again after 25 years. Where is the popcorn!

  • @rudy712 THIS IS MY FAVORITE OF ALL THE OLD SINBADS AND JASON ND THE AROS CLASH OF THE TITANS AND JACK THE G KILLA YEESSSS

  • @rudy712 Asda have it pal for around £2.99.

I watched it at its magical best in 1974 (aged 8) at the local pictures...my wife thinks its utter rubbish but i love it, even still.

  • thakns for sharing this vid. I always watch everytime that it appears on TV. Here in Brazil the TV Globo reprises this movie during the 80´s and the title : The New Adventure of Sinbad. Thanks
