There's ya reason why bodybuilding is now a pack of circus freaks & not what it was in the '70's to early '80's. How anyone could want to look like that & be pleased with their appearence is something only a shrink could work out! Bodybuilders in Arnolds day had pleasing bodies with dense solid muscle, seperation & also ripped. For the last 20yrs it's been all about freak size & pushing the body to ridiculous limits which only reflects on how corrupt the sport has become.

Too many new drugs - Yes Serge and Arnold, etc. had far better looking bodies than current in my opinion, they didn't weigh nearly 300 lbs but looked far better-- hope i didn't offend any current pros-- i see a lot of negative posts regarding the look of stars but it's their choice and if that is what the judges require then either take it or retire

@zxtenn Serge and Arnold did not weigh 300lbs. Lou Ferrigno was the only one near 300lbs, because he was 6'5. Serge was ~215lbs offseason, and about 200pounds at competitions. Arnold was also pretty tall, weighing 235 inseason at 6'2. You can say, bodybuilding lost its aesthetics at pro-level in the late 80's/early 90's.

@sebbimon Yes, i know they didn't, as i wrote 'they didn't weigh nearly 300' as opposed to the current stars which many do weigh nearly 300, i know arnold was 235 and ferrigno about 270 on stage-- Regarding judging I agree with you because they need to please the judges to score points so i guess either take GH and whatever else they take so either take it or go home-- however myself i wonder if additional size in some areas justifies the many negatives?

All pros have such gifted potential but i think they need to cut back on some of the drugs, yes like everyone else says bloated --Tthe older guys weren't as big but had better lines and a better waist which makes them look better overall-- i would rather have Arnolds body at 240 than this guy at 285, anyone ever compare someone like Surge Nubret to these guys? Probably healthier too but to each their own
