Both eras of Coheed have their appeal. The older stuff may not be executed as well, and Claudio's voice broke like every five seconds, but their energy and passion made up for it. Now they are much more technically sound as a band, but most of the time it seems like they're just going through the motions. I guess that happens to almost all bands after playing the same material for years, and just getting older in general.
