Sorry this wasn't a tail rotor failure it was definately brain error nose in. I had a tail rotor failure yesterday shot up to 20 foot of the ground and span out of control like a top back to earth lol couldn't help but laugh and cry at same time.
I hope you have another 1500.00 dollars. Why don't you fly it closer to the power lines next time ? Then we really could have seen something that would have been worth watching.
i lost tail control?? Looked more like a wrong input when you went into a nose in hover. I love the way modellers always find a reason for a crash that has nothing to do with human error. lol
That was so funny. I don't know RC helicopters but beeing a Helicopter pilot, that really didn't look like loss of tail rotor. It looked like you just screwed up. Wait I have to watch it again. Hahahaha that is just too funny man.
dude, why would you attempt nose in on a scale 222 when you obviously can't do it.....it was a nice bird...sorry for the loss, but you should get a sim or practice nose in on a pod and boom heli
ahh man - that sucks , but thanks for putting that vid on youtube - bro I can't hover nose it either lol - I had a nice heli ....... key word ..... Had
Wow...talk about the silliest place on Earth to fly a RC Helo! Lets see now...hi-power lines, fences, animals...yeah, that about covers it! Pick a soccer field or a large pasture/RC airfield next time...ka ching!
You know, it is amazing to see all of the ignorant people who like to comment on things on the web... It runs on methanol which the greenies seem to think is better than gasoline. The smoke is because he is running it super rich to extend the life of the engine. Just because you can see the "smoke" doesn't mean it is worse than the stuff you can't see. The fuel is pre-mixed. The richness is a carb adjustment. Sorry about the crash. Those hurt!
Actually the smoke is because it is a 2 stroke engine like a garden trimmer, and the oil is run fairly rich usually at a 4 to 1 mix + 10 to 20 percent nitromethane.
@OutbackKanga Yes, but the amount of smoke shows a rich carb setting. Helis don't get as much air flow to cool the engine so most pilots run the engine fairly rich to extend the life of the engine. You won't see as much smoke from cars and planes that have the carbs set to run in the power band.
sorry dude, but that was classic nose in mistake and not tail failure, also it looks like someone should have called the fire brigade with all that smoke. Nitro sucks, electric is so today. More time on the sim will save you lots of dollar!
as i'm sure everybody else has said...not a tail rotor issue...user malfunction...the helicopter did exactly what it was supposed to do when its flown by somebody who doesn't know anything...pretty cool that you can here either rocks or pieces of the main rotor hitting the side of a building probably a good 50-100 meters away.
doesnt look like you lost tail control...looks like you lost your orientation and slammed it in the ground lol. when the nose is facing you you know right is left and left is right. get some flight sim time before blow more money on a lame crash.
Yeah @gsotodotcom, I was joking. I think the engine is "a little bit rich" There is one thing for sure: moskitoes must be far away from that chopper :-)
Def pilot error there. I fly a modified Falcon 40 and trust me, you can lose control of heli's in an instant. You have to constantly assess what the heli is doing, it's relative position, along with your inputs and environmental variables.
Flying these things takes ALOT of skill and total focus. Hopefully you got that bird rebuilt and in the air, where it belongs! :-)
As I was loading this video I began watching something else & went back to it 15 or so minutes later and as I was watching I forgot it was a "crash" video. And it made me jump the moment it crash like OOOOOOOoooooohhh Dam!!!!!
What a bummer. I hope you fixed it right away and got back in the air like a real pilot should. Get that fear out of you.
ohh mannn that is/was a nice heli did you get it fixed? my dad has had a few helis with shells like the lynx and he also had a BK-117 that was a beast 6ft by 2ft hes had alsorts
too rich is never bad for the motor, less power. Also he was probably breaking in the engine, and might even have been using 30% fuel to have more power and lubricants. Thats why so much smoke
@JonnyHeather123 ... You nailed it in the comment dept' !! ...I thought the excessive smoking thing was going to blow it up or something LOL but, no it flipped over at the end.
left stick = lean left! Oh wait, when facing me left stick=lean right!! Damn, too low. You need to put the training sticks back on and hop around the ground in all positions for a few more hours.
2007... nevermind. if you didn't give up yet, you're probably a pro by now.
yeah thats disoriented if it was tail the helicopter more than likely would have either span out of control or drifted out of control that kinda did a left hand slide into the ground as if you were trying to correct it that sucks though
You didn't lose tail control. You were disoriented. I could see from the way you flew the heli that you were not comfortable with it nose in for extended periods. The angle of the heli when it went down was likely 270 degrees from you and those are tough. I spent more than 6 months flying my first heli within 30 yards at low altitude getting comfortable with all attitudes. Takes tons of patience but it pays off. Good luck with the next one!
Not enough SIM time my friend ....That wasn't a lost tail but a loss of orientation ability. Happens to us all mostly all)...Well it's like they say with this hobby, SIM,SIM,SIM,tinker ,tinker ,tinker, fly, crash, spend, tinker, tinker, tinker,SIM,SIM,SIm some more, SIM ,SIM, crash, spend, tinker, tinker ,tinker, SIM, SIM, fly ....repeat...
