I'd like some people to stop and think about why most American cops wouldn't do something like this. If they tried to hug someone, they run the risk of being yelled at or pushed, being accused of sexual harrassment, or incurring physical violence against them. It's not always the cops at fault. I will agree they seem to frequently go to excessive lengths to detain a suspect, but it's often out of fear.

This is a Danish anti-cycling propaganda clip. Many Danes and most Dutch do not wear cycling helmets. The Dutch do not promote them because they are known to discourage cycling rates, which leads to a decrease in motorists' awareness of bikes and an increase in accidents. Dutch cyclists are the safest and least injury-prone in the world. Cycling is an exceedingly safe activity and this video is explicitly anti-bike.
In America, it's totally the opposite. My friend, on a bike, was almost run down by the police. He stopped to complain to the officer, and was arrested and handcuffed for 3 hours. His hands were purple and numb. The police are thugs here.

I've been stopped several times for riding my bike at night-with lights on and everything on a bike path. This was so nice to see. This is what cops should be doing instead of being power hungry crazy men running around with tasers looking for trouble and usually targeting the innocent. I used to respect cops but not anymore. American Cops are Purely Corrupt I am sure there might be one or two that actually engage their heart and brain but not many.
It's nice for them that they give out helmets for free. Though those could be some proper cycling helmets, not the ones for skaters. Riging in them, especially in summer, is a huge pain in the arse as they are not properly ventilated.

Virtually all serious injuries in crashes where bike is involved involve head injuries. Helmets are best countermeasure against head injuries.
Cyclists should *always* wear a helmet. Heck, helmets look better too! I always do.

This is a Danish anti-cycling propaganda clip. Many Danes and most Dutch do not wear cycling helmets. The Dutch do not promote them because they are known to discourage cycling rates, which leads to a decrease in motorists' awareness of bikes and an increase in accidents. Dutch cyclists are the safest and least injury-prone in the world. Cycling is an exceedingly safe activity and this video is explicitly anti-bike.

In America, it's totally the opposite. My friend, on a bike, was almost run down by the police. He stopped to complain to the officer, and was arrested and handcuffed for 3 hours. His hands were purple and numb. The police are thugs here.

I've been stopped several times for riding my bike at night-with lights on and everything on a bike path. On 2 occasions I've had cops drive up grass and shit and onto bike path just because they were wondering what I was doing... with a bike... on a bike path... on the other occasion the cop drove up like a crazy asshole shined his side light and then went away. .. like wtf?

This was so nice to see. This is what cops should be doing instead of being power hungry crazy men running around with tasers looking for trouble and usually targeting the innocent. I used to respect cops but not anymore. American Cops are Purely Corrupt I am sure there might be one or two that actually engage their heart and brain but not many.

It's nice for them that they give out helmets for free. Though those could be some proper cycling helmets, not the ones for skaters. Riging in them, especially in summer, is a huge pain in the arse as they are not properly ventilated.
