  • i know how to do this puzzle...just fold any edge of the paper u r using in tracing the last...the folded part will serve as your bridge to whatever house u target ^^

  • So basically, we can solve an impossible problem while using a toroid. Marvelous :)

Like in "Thrive", the movie :)

  • dude will you be my math teacher?

  • i got it my first time

  • NERD

  • @lolcam911 how is he a nerd. If anything he's cool

  • @lolcam911 TROLL

  • I am just 12, and from Norway... But like the math!

  • This puzzle would be possible if the pipe installer had a portal gun

  • HI JAMES!!! YOU CAME TO WESTSIDE GIBRALTAR!! i loved solving your codes ^^

  • @xXxMahomiexXx Hello again!

  • Loved your proof, I find Topology amazing

  • Ahh youre so smart! and im so confused! *watches again*

  • He reminds me of Nigel Murray.

  • shite

  • I dont speek geek

  • @gamertodead hey no pickin on geek community

  • Answer 1: Magic. Answer 2: Wormhole.

  • I paused at :58, I think I already have a solution, put it through the shredder

  • nt possible cuz if vertex has an odd number of lines at a vertex it cannot be done without crossing

  • no im not thinking that im thinking wow i really talk ike this no wonder people just walk away when i talk

  • WHAT ABOUT A SPHERE

  • @Megabaseballchamp1 Which makes you cool. Thanks for letting us know how cool you are.

  • @Megabaseballchamp1 I liek being igronant!

  • it is possible using 2 dimensions, its called worm oles, using the back of the paper. the worm hole uses a hole in the paper draw on the back side and another hole in the paper where you need to come out at

  • He sure know math, but not physics and if he connected the electrisity to the water it would lead into the house. Problem solved

  • Youre a great NERD buddy...keep it up!!

  • @nickyjam770 well he's getting payed so i guess its not that bad.

  • @nickyjam770 yet he will accomplish more in life then you, isn't the world cruel for stupid people? :(

  • @44thsavage Yeah,specially for you that comments!

  • i know how to do it its really easy if you think about it!

  • Forever learning. . . TBH this was pritty cool. . . But if you just said you needed 10, and only got 9.. I would understand why it was impossible.

  • I just poked two holes in the paper....

  • hehehee...you're smart.

  • -.- I pause and determined that it was possible in less than 1min.

  • @ruethgar And thats why you should take more than 1 minute to solved a puzzle.

  • @ThePieDemon No rules that I have found for this puzzle restricted the use of multi-dimensional possibilities which, as he demonstrates in the last portion of the video, does work. But there is no way for me to prove that I didn't just watch to the end first and lie about pausing when he suggested so I don't suppose there is really much of a point.

  • @ruethgar Sorry about that comment. It's just kind of irritating when people state they have a solution when it's clearly impossible using the stated limitations and only using 2 dimensions.

  • English please. All of us aren't mathematicians.

  • it's easy as SHIT

  • wait, but i still dont understand how did you get the number of corners, faces and vertices.

  • @MrFunnylicious The 6 corners are the 3 utilities and 3 houses, the 9 edges are the 9 required lines to connect the utilities to the houses and the number of faces is obtained from substituting both of these into Euler's Formula

  • @MrFunnylicious very careffully

  • @MrFunnylicious In a graph, points which can be connected are called 'vertices' and the lines connecting them are the 'edges'. Gas, water, electricity and the three houses are the vertices (=6). Now you have to connect the three houses with three utilities using edges ( =9). When you put this in 3D, vertices become corners and edges become edges of the 3D figure.

  • @MrFunnylicious The number of vertices is the 3 houses + 3 companies, the number of corners/edges is 9, because u must link each facility to 3 different houses, so you need 9 lines that's where the 6 and 9 come from, then the 5 comes straight from euler's formula

  • I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE ANWSER!!!!!!!!!!

  • isnt a sphere a regular solid??

  • Comment removed

  • or u could bury a pipe

  • man i dont even learn at school why should I at you tube

  • Comment removed

  • why do people make fun of u u are fucking smart and that is not wath to make fun of:)

    Sry for the bad english:(

  • Fine Sir, does this Eulers formula everyones talking about apply to water Pokemon?

  • isn't that doughnut shape called a hypersphere?

  • @alexK661 Isn't that a Torus?

  • @CaboHitman the difference between them is kind of blurry...but you are right

  • Yes he's smart but nogt right on this one. There is a solution that i learned from my teacher that actually works(on paper no silly cube's or anything). I will post it this week.

  • whiteboi, you smart

  • I always hated maths, but you, for some weird reason, make it sound interesting. I hope you were my teacher when I was still in high school. :)

  • i have no ide wat hes talking abaut

  • @AssassinsCreed842 Because you're retarded.

  • @OneEye1942 FUCK YOU

  • @AssassinsCreed842 I'm impressed you spelled that correctly. Then again my guess would be you use that a lot in your responses to people. Sucks to be ignorant and constantly being called on it, doesn't it. Let's make that a rhetorical question.

  • @OneEye1942 didn't have to respond to my comment...

  • @AssassinsCreed842 Yes, that would have been the other option, but your comment just begged to be commented on. Nothing more than a matter of opinion betwixt us. My suggestion...realize that once you post something into the ethernet it's game for opinion. If you didn't want feedback...you wouldn't be on the internet. Life's tough...then you die!

  • @OneEye1942 ok nvm im done here

  • he looks smart :)

  • its impossible

  • WOW I... I... I didnt understand a sh*t of what he said

  • im in algebra 1. 8th grade, so im lost

  • ._. 1:36

  • i surprisingly enjoyed this video!!

  • @singingbanana 1:55 what about circle's ?

  • You can always go around house...

  • yo my friend did this to me and i was like what and he show me but i dont remember how he solve it

  • lol, mathematician speaking, "...take away the # of edges..." ever heard of MINUS?!?

  • I tried this at Dunkin Donuts and everyone looked at me funny for drawing on a donut...

  • @HyperSpify hahahahahhahahahahha

  • @HyperSpify FUCK THEM AND THEIR FUNNY LOOKS! YOU IN SEARCH OF KNOWLEDGE!

  • so pretty much, its impossible

  • I want to turn things into a solid now.

  • So...... Its impossible? DAMMIT!

  • I did this in exactly 15 seconds the trick is to go below the red dots :)

  • @comexm258 pics or didn't happen :)

  • Am I the only one wondering why his channel name is singingbanana even though he is a mathematician?

  • The debate on whether this puzzle is impossible or not now stands as an argument in theoretical physics...

  • @DesHikari No it isn't.

  • Comment removed

  • i worked it out with a bagel

  • @jjlovesjam I just tried this with a bagel. I shit bricks. It did work.

  • He is so cute.

    I like him :)

  • um I hate to break it to you but there is a way I can do it

  • @vampierlover97 Care to show us?

  • @TheCarbonAtom1 Sure I'll post a vid on my channel go there and check it out

  • @vampierlover97 Wires can not go through the utility circles or the houses. In your solution, to loop the water pipe around the gas pipe, you pas the water pipe through the gas circle.

  • @AestheticAeon hey now he said he was good at math not English ahahahahah

  • @bb4ll4sc it is a British accent

  • Hi,

I am a 12 year old math matishian and I went to a math school.

I can doo this I will try to.

  • @gaycarrotcake123 Learn how to spell mathematician* and you'll be on the right track!

  • geez you sound sooo smart

  • Wow, just luv this vid....

  • Easy, you only need a wormhole.

  • you are very smart

  • @ryukendo4209 holy shit you made my day hahahaha

  • The word for a Doughnut shape is Torus smartass!

  • @jstarks21 He didn't use the word "torus" because his audience isn't a group of mathematicians.

  • Hasnt yoda taught nothing to you people Anything is possible only if the heart and soul is willing and the force

  • ocathedron? its a diamond to me...

  • OILERS FOMULaH

  • what did you say again???

  • I would fuck this guys brains out in a second if I saw him.

  • is that numberphile lol

  • I am 2 months 1 week 6 days old and I solved this puzzle in approximately 17.8 seconds.

  • i learn more on youtube then i do in school

  • Easy

  • I'm horrible at math and I didn't understand any of that but you are REALLY cute .....

  • Sweet

  • i asked my teacher this... and she shit herself

  • outstanding !!!! thanks for posting !

  • wait but if this were actually in real life then you could just make one of the pipes go over the other without actually having to touch each other which would actually solve the puzzle

  • i did it once and i dnt believe that i had done it

  • now i want doughnuts...

  • f+v-e=2

  • You sir. Have lost me ?

  • soo..... is it possoble? :/

  • My mind was mathematically and Britishly blown.

  • good handwriting dude.

  • so he taught me about math crap that is useless just to tell me the only way this is posible is if it were a sphere, but it is not so it is impossible? :O

  • i did it ._. and whit no tricks

  • i found the solutioon first try (on flat paper)

  • Would it not work on a sphere?

  • lol they call that an inner tube.

  • why didnt he just show us the last picture at the start

  • in english please xD lol. I got it at the end

  • the britsh accent is what kept me watching, and then i actually found it interesting!

  • dude tht was cool

  • I know one thing...you cant turn 2D into 3D without the help of math or "cheating"

  • How do you not get that. I want you as my teacher! ;)

  • Im gonna copy this all down like he did n im gona perform this infront of ma parents so they thing im some smart nerd so i will look smarter than them n get respect n appriciation of them LOL

  • Hey how did you do that thing at 1:38 yano the one were that flat thing turns into sum 3D diamond ting yh??

Id appriciate it if you would reply =D

  • The main thing you have to hear is here 0:52

  • Wow your have brains!

  • Never been so interested in.. math :)

  • O.O mind blown

  • Hey man, at 3:24 I don't really get how those broken rules relate to the formula. Can you explain please?

  • im not a smart person at math... infact i suck at maths but this guy made it very clear and i understood it perfectly after the Example

  • @mcwaste Me too! i didn't realise until now, so i'll thumbs up ur comment and like the video.

  • @25hrspastmidnight thanks bud

  • Sexy accent!

  • This thing is possible... I just completed it successfully. Am I a genius??? I might make a video about it later

  • @Inventor672 test it aain..its not...

  • It is possible.

  • thumbs up if you tried to explain it and talked british xD

  • why did i come have to get a math lesson on saturday

  • i was following until you made me realize how dumb i am. im gonna go read a book now.

  • omg this guy is smart o.o

  • You mathemations. Always making things so complicated ;)

  • Thank you very much, for the first time Maths is interesting.... and im 13th grade...

  • emm if u carnt do it and i can den IM SMARTER :D lol i did it douh :L

  • @specterul It's worth watching and understanding the video before writing comments.

  • @specterul You have made yourself look like a "smart ass". The point of the video was to prove that the problem is impossible by changing the puzzle into a three dimensional object and imputing the factors of the puzzle into Euler's Formula which doesn't result in an answer of 2 meaning the puzzle truly is impossible. His reasoning is really well thought out.

  • @specterul Booooo.

  • @specterul how are u liking all those thumbs ups u arent getting?

  • @specterul wooow can you actually think it through correctly

  • You cute smart man. <3

  • This comment section made me feel like a genius.

  • it's like to get a line in to a circle without cross a line

  • fml im studying to be a mathmatition...

  • this should be a tortuere i mean damn look him up in a cell with some1 the be so confused they will eierther explode or give u the info u want

  • stop about the flippn shapes!

  • well im not going to be a math ma... something when i grow up..

  • My mind is full of fuck..

  • Can you be my teacher?

  • /)o3o(\ Why Me No Understand

  • fuck i am like a 0_o

  • Soo, you can do my math homework?

  • 1:39 loloolololololo

  • for a smart person your pretty dumb and you take way to long to explain things.

there are at least three easy ways to do the puzzle.

  • you forgot about the door and the window on the house on the left then its possible :D

  • ?.?

  • That is exactly what I was thinking the whole time.
