I now realise the mistake that I made arguing with that guy. I translated the name of the デジモン図鑑 (Dejimon Zukan: Digimon Dictionary) into English. Doing a google search of "digimon dictionary" for some reason sends you to a Wikimon article on it rather than the デジモン図鑑.

Wikimon, although a very good resource for people who can't read Japanese, may look a little dubious because of its Wiki style.

Either way, translated or not, it's Bandai's word (デジモン図鑑) against @buzeo3's word. I'm with Bandai =)

2. The level doesn't make the difference, the stats and techniques do.

@buzeo3 Yeah, Megas didn't exist at the time this game was made.

This game was played purely on Auto, so finishers don't come into it, more even, as some digimon do not have finishers if they are unobtainable.

@buzeo3 When did Angemon beat a higher level Digimon? People still aren't counting Devimon as Perfect because he beat the chosen Adolescents are they? It's pretty much an established fact that in the Digimon Adveture, Dark Digimon are just stronger. And it explains everything using just one statement.

If you're talking about Holy Angemon vanishing (not beating) Piemon, then he *still* need War Greymon and Metal Garurumon's help to push him. Piemon was vanished because his strength's unmatchable.

@buzeo3 Your second statement, "plus angemon's attack is effective against dark digimon" is correct, but it doesn't mean that he can beat higher level Digimon. Angemon's attack is just affective against Virus Digimon and Dark Digimon, Devimon was both.

But as for your first, according to Piemon's Digimon Dictionary profile, he's unmatchable, the only thing you can do is vanish him away. Holy Angemon would've lost. And he had War Greymon and Metal Garurumon's help to push him into Heaven's Gate.

Please, site a source that "angemon is stronger than most regular champions and weaker virus ultimates". I can't find an official source that agrees with this statement. Especially in games where Angemon is mostly a defensive character. I cited a source about Piemon, and you can read and translate it straight from the original Japanese at Digimon (dot) net.

@buzeo3 Digimon (dot) net is a new official site, and it makes an accurate prediction that the facts agree with:

- War Greymon killed Metal Sea Dramon.

- Metal Garurumon killed Pinocchimon.

- War Greymon killed Mugen Dramon.

- War Greymon and Metal Garurumon couldn't kill Piemon. Neither could've anyone else.

- So Holy Angemon opened a door to subspace, *from which there is no return*, and War Greymon and Metal Garurumon pushed Piemon through it.

On the other hand, you have yet to cite a source.

@buzeo3 It depends on what you mean by his Final form. Both Lucemon Larva and Lucemon Satan Mode are Final level Digimon. Lucemon Larva doesn't have a profile, and in the card game all of his attacks are Mamoru 0. He has effects but none of them make him unmatchable. Lucemon Satan Mode is Larva's reflection, so it can't be attacked, but without Lucemon Larva, he doesn't exist, being a reflection.

But I hope you aren't saying that Digimon Dictionary isn't a reliable source because of that. …

@buzeo3 … (cont) Either way, Lucemon Satan Mode not being attackable due to being a Digimon's reflection has no bearing on whether Angemon and Holy Angemon are any stronger than Digimon of a higher level. (Remember: games disagree.) All that we can say is that Devimon was strong, Angemon beat him because of elemental and attributive advantages and that Holy Angemon has Heaven's Gate, an attack that can vanish Digimon. All else is unsupported speculation.
