Just heard it again and with a bit more "attention" to the "big waves" of mendelssohn ;) --- and you're really playing it great. You even impressed my friend (she's a piano genius ;) sitting next to me. ;) It's wonderful!! Just had to write that. ;)
00:36 must hold the 5th finger. You could do a bit more legato on most parts. Use more help from your wrist. put less pedal on changing harmonies. you music needs to breathe sometimes
Watch this! Do that! Oh, PLEASE! Just because someone plays a piece differently from you, doesn't mean it's WRONG!
You must be Americans. That's all they do is bitch, moan and complain, those ingrates. They're never happy about anything; not even a beautifully played piece of music.
Just sit still and LISTEN! You just MIGHT learn something.
For heaven's sake! Don't listen to Seraphine or Pianoboy! Your playing is excellent and your interpretation is your own, BUT, GET ANOTHER PIANO!!! That Kawai really stinks! It ruins every good nuance you put into the Mendelsohn and you sound as though you're playing in a bath tub, thanks to the sounding board! Get a used Steinway or even a Baldwin grand, but dump that menace you're using now. You're great!
corpseofhorowitz - I agree with you about listening to Seraphine who plays guitar..duh? And Pianoboy obviously knows nothing. But, the piano? That was funny because I was going to say, "Is that a Kawai? Sounds good." LOL
I think your tempo is incredible. but try to play more legato in those slow parts, because it sounds flat. and sometimes it seems that you only play the notes and don't feel the music. you should be more sensitive! but your technique pretty well.
Watch your tempi - there were too many of them . The fundamental pulse need to hang together. A frame to put the nuances of POCO accles in etc. In writing all the different note lengths in he has notated much of the rubato. Think more about cushioning your forte sounds. use your wrist as a shock absorber more!
אם הצופים היו יודעים שאתה גם מתמטיקאי מוכשר... יצירה מדהימה והביצוע נעים לאוזן

This is one of Mendelssohn'sgreatest piano works. Dramatic, beautiful and powerfull.
Watch the tempi and try to get all the notes perfect.

Great but you should play it lighter and slower to taste all the nuances. =)
